Heart, this team has it. Another reason to be a Colts fan.

Of course its easy to say now but somewhere on one of these threads I spoke out that Jenkins would be worth the gamble. Why on earth did we not draft Janoris Jenkins? He was balling out there, even against Larry Fitzgerald in his rookie year, enough said. Fleener better become a Jimmy Graham type TE pretty soon, otherwise I will be shaking my head at that pick when Jenkins was there. No pain, no gain.
I think we should do what the Rams did, just move down several times to pick up a lot of talent, and that talent with good coaching, can definitely produce.

Yeah, we all would have had Brees in that list except now he knows the power of a good coach to lead things. Eli is the #1 clutch qb right now but overall I'd still go with Rodgers for his consistency.definitely hard to argue against Eli over the last few seasons
I'd probably stick Brees somewhere up there in the top 5 though

Thanks for putting this up, I needed a laugh.Zbikowski sucks, we should bring back bob sanders
-
Cutting him would move right to the top of the "stupid moves" file, talking about it now is just asinine....IMHO

He didn't have much problem handling Troy Polamolu in the last seconds before the snap so why couldn't he handle it in Atlanta?..after the game..when asked if Atlanta had done anything at all that surprised him...Manning said simply 'no'
he took the blame (he's no Cutler) but he said that the mistakes were his and not coverage-related.
that's hard to belivee...Atlanta seemd to have a half dozen players in fake or dummy positins until 5 seconds
before the snap and clearly.....he didnt seem to expect the safetys to be where they were on the first two throws..
Maybe he takes pide in reading defenses and he'd never admit to being fooled by a defense

I do too, and it doesn't hurt that Orange Crush is my favorite soft drink......With Manning, Tamme and Stokley.... I found myself rooting for Denver just as I do for the Colts.
I must admit that I have a youth of admiring John Elway and Bronocs fans add to watching a game there..
but I had no trouble rooting for Denver and Peyton as if they were Indy...and Indy becaue they are Indy
Since they dont meet...its like having 2 favorite teams....
Did anybody else feel the same way...?

It's a tough song made tougher by a large crowd, I say give them a little "artistic license" as long as they don't do a "Roseanne" to it.....but Whitney sang it sooooooooo fine.As we all eagerly anticipated the start of the NFL season last Wednesday night on September 5, 2012, we sat in front of a TV set or flat screen to watch the Superbowl Champion NY Giants face the Dallas Cowboys. Before the gave could begin, we all waited patiently to hear the U.S. National Anthem being sung by a celebrity to pay tribute to our love for this country and the troops serving abroad overseas to protect our civil liberties. Some individuals selected to carry out this rare duty are quite gifted musically AKA Whitney Houston and some individuals AKA Roseanne Bar either cannot sing well or have not treated this honor with the respect it truly deserves.
Recently, Queen Latifah performed the U.S. National Anthem in MetLife Stadium in New York. Clearly, some artistic license was taken in her vocal rendition of the Star Spangled Banner. Here is my question: Should the National Anthem be sung as close as possible to the original version given the historic and symbolic nature of American pride and heritage that this song ultimately represents or Is any form of alteration and creativity allowed during the live performance of this number and why?

Granted, many big mistakes I was just hoping their learning curve is good because we may be stuck with them for a few more weeks according to a report on ESPN.Really? I'll admit that the regular refs make plenty of mistakes, but you are giving these guys too much credit. Some of the calls were just plain horrible, and they were spotting the ball in the wrong place throughout many games. Not to mention giving an extra timeout.
-
Calling him a monster is putting it mildly, a simple thing like a block to clear the way for a running back will go a long way in the path to becoming the team leader. He was great and fun to watch.....
He wasnt playing the Bears 'D' but he was on the road against a top team.
His arm is overwhelming.....but he's going to get hurt runnng the ball.
Until then..justwatch the show.......it'll be prime time viewing
-
Ok, it looks like they are going to be working for the first 5 games so the list is going to get longer and some of the mistakes probably would have been made by the regular refs, they missed calls too.

Everything I saw yesterday was nothing a little experience won't cure. No doom and gloom (even though I've been accused of worse on other threads) I see only a bright future with our young quarterback and the new look Colts that will make their mark in the years to come!Everything I'm seeing on these forums is doom and gloom. What positives did we take away from today? I thought the special teams other than the Brazil fumble was pretty good. The two punts that we saved from being touchbacks was impressive to me. That may be commonplace on other teams, but around here it was a vast upgrade. I think we looked young, but coachable.

I make it no secret that I'm a Manning fan but where was the bashing? I'm pretty sure alluding to antacids or second thoughts is merely opinion and conjecture.obviously your a peyton fan and a irsay basher, fine 1st amendment
but can you not spew your hatred all over this forum, there is a broncos forum where they will gladly accept it
As for "hatred" your reply had much more of it than my OP, maybe you should read your signature again, it works for me.

Public forum, reasonable question, within guidelines, and it is a question that will be asked again and again over the course of the season by fans and sportscasters so why can't it be said here?I apologize for my masked profanity. It's just these posts are outta hand. That's no excuse, though.
-
Any chance Jim Irsay is having second thoughts and is going to buy a lot of antacid in the next few months?
I know it was a business decision and second thoughts are not allowed but watching the game tonight PM sure didn't look too bad making that 4th quarter drive for the win. I am a Colts fan and back the new team--which really looked pretty good today--but I also thought something should have been done that would have kept Peyton until he chose to retire--as a Colt.

Sorry, I didn't see this thread until I posted a similar question about Mr. Davis. Yeah his expressions were odd as were his reactions, I just hope he plays better than he came off in this episode of the show...not impressive.
-
Just watched this weeks episode when the coach tells him he was traded to the Colts. First the guy looked almost like he wanted to cry and then in the middle of the meeting with the coach he says he has to call his grandma--and then starts to make the call.
Ok I understand the need to let people know but I sure hope he is sharper on the field than he appears to be in this show because between his facial reactions and his attitude he really wasn't very impressive.
-
Say what you like about Bob Sanders but when he came back and revitalized the defense all the way to the Super Bowl was great. I honestly believe if he hadn't come back when he did it would have been a completely different Super Bowl.
-
Green Bay and Denver....I think I posted something else earlier on this old thread but I changed my mind.
-
I think it's more of actually seeing them play with the new players, coaches, and system, after all the preseason is all about the team play not the won loss record.Because during all of those 12+ and 10+ win years, all of those division titles and consecutive playoff appearances, the Colts' woeful 0-4 & 1-3 win preseason records they consistently put up offered such a good clue as to how the Colts would actually do during the regular season.
-
Stupid lame article, I was hoping for some insight but it is only the Bleacher Report......Here is the full article:
http://bleacherrepor...-peyton-manning
I don't think every aspect is valid, but good stuff to dicuss.
-
I live in NW Indiana and have to endure Bears this and Bears that all the time so I have no love for them but realistically the Colts have zero chance of winning...and no, Peyton couldn't do his magic to win this game.did remedy really just say not even Peyton could Win this? Did we not beat the Bears and become Super Bowl Champs? -__-
If the Colts keep this game within 2 touchdowns I'll be happy.
-
Colts would play the Broncos in the playoffs right after Curtis Painter takes over as quarterback in Green Bay.
-
Yeah, pretty obvious it isn't real, but still a nice thought.
The "business decision" is working.

Yes, they are 2-2 but except for a last minute bomb against Jville, they'd be 3-1.
The new look Colts are making me miss some of the familiar names less and less with a combination of solid defense and an offense that shows experience from the vets and a quick learning curve from the new teammates. I am impressed with the seasoned veteran attitude Andrew Luck displays when pressed, and that attitude shows he trusts his line to protect him and allow precious seconds to get the ball where it needs to be.
Yeah, I was pretty vocal about the fiasco last year and though I supported the team I had regrets and doubts for the future. The doubts are getting smaller with every game and I eagerly look forward to the remainder of the season and the growth of this young team into a potential contender in a shorter time than I gave them credit for. As for regrets, there will always be some but they too fade a little more each week.
Now if I could only convince the South Bend TV affiliates to show their games every week, listening to the game today on the radio was ok but.......
Go Colts!
