  1. the run unc had to put them up 4 after down what was think 12 points was the difference. They pulled away and kept the Spartans at arms length the rest of the way. There have been some dang good games. I always like this time of year, and then it’s crickets until football, for me anyways.
  2. where are the excuses? Please do share. I simply stated what I believe to be the case of Ballard being safe through this season and likely into 2026…
  3. If anything expectations were increased because of what the organization saw, even though I think they are still tempered. Ballard said they were surprised by some things they saw that they thought would take time to develop.
  4. I know. I should have clarified that- I was more or less expanding on your comment.
  5. I think we all saw enough to know if he can stay healthy (and I know it’s a big if) he is undoubtedly going to make big plays. That’s why he was brought here. He can win in this league, and especially with Steichen. It’s not going to come overnight, so expectations are far more tempered behind the doors at 56th street than they are on this forum.
  6. and on… I’ve said it before on here, it’s not a short term mindset anymore. They felt they were close in 2020-2021, but they reset the clock after 2022. I think they are hopeful that the current vets that were just extended helps them win now and for the next 3 years, but they are resetting expectations for a longterm with a new franchise qb.
  7. something would be seriously wrong with 3 wins. That’s utter meltdown. Team’s floor is 7 wins, in my opinion. I think we easily split series (or go 2-4) with our division opponents, steal a few games we aren’t expected to win, and win more than not at home. I say that with or without Richardson.
  8. I don’t think so. I think he’s got minimum two years. If Anthony is healthy and shows he is progressing (even with struggles at times, or not being an immediate winner), they will continue the same path into 2025. Go watch the next pick from last year and tell me that’s a front office/coaching staff that is worried about their future. They believe they are building an environment to develop Anthony Richardson. The clock was reset for Ballard. 3 year deals across the board is not ironic. It ties the current veterans to AR’s rookie deal. Unless it’s just an utter meltdown in ‘24 or ‘25 and it’s obvious Richardson is not the guy, there’s no reason to assume that Ballard and company are not safe through the 2025 season and into 2026, playoffs or not. Everyone on here saying otherwise is just wishful thinking on their part.
  9. What would give you the impression that there is “no doubt” in your mind that Ballard will be fired if they don’t make the playoffs in 2024. You think that if they are as close with a healthy Richardson as they were to a division title in 2023, that Irsay will want to blow it up?
  10. Diggs, Simmons. we need a free safety. I like Cross at SS. I think he’ll continue to grow. I do like Thomas on the field…
  11. it’s pretty low. I pick on you, but I hope you know it’s not mean spirited. Everyone has enough mental issues to justify getting a dog… mine has kept me grounded for nearly a decade.
  12. I agree. It’s still early and we should see how it plays out he said we need more explosiveness on offense and to limit explosive plays on defense… that would mean defensive backs
  13. I don't think anything changes with what he's asked of. Protect himself better, make plays, score points. It's not a hard concept. If our offense can run the ball well with #5 and 28, and Richardson can deliver the ball and make plays with his arm, the defense won't be asked as much either. It can go both ways. Except this time, we add back in our starting corner (and yes, he's coming off an achilles tear- i understand the concern as I am as well), have several young guys in the secondary with another offseason to develop, possibly add a stud in the draft that CAN be an immediate playmaker, plenty of time to add a vet or two... I think you are over-reacting big time. But no one here is surprised by that.
  14. I'm just happy to see you post something different than the usual... I thought you were a bot for a moment.
  15. what does the secondary have to do with Anthony Richardson? I’m more concerned about how they improve the pass catchers on the roster/o-line depth for his sake.
  16. what part of my post said anything about rookies? I said it would be addressed. That could come in the form of the first few rounds of the draft- see Witherspoon from Seattle. I guess he didn’t immediately improve the secondary huh? I guess downs didn’t have an immediately impact on the offense last season huh? What I referred to was adding to the secondary. We added Gilmore in April two years ago.
