  1. so let’s assume as much. And I agree by the way. They are all-in on Richardson and still conducted the offseason the way they did. What does that mean? That they don’t care? Or- does it mean they are convicted in how they are building? By all accounts, they attempted to get Hunter, and at least inquired about Sneed. They might have attempted to get more than those two, and weren’t successful. Does that mean they don’t care or aren’t attempting to improve the roster surrounding Richardson? Because that’s certainly how you and others portray it here. I don’t think it does. I think it shows players are reluctant to come here more than anything. They signed everyone back. We could have struggled to do even that this offseason, and where would we be?
  2. I’m not sure that has ever been Ballard based on what I have seen. Have you seen the clip of him when he was with the bears breaking down the cornerbacks available in the 2006 draft? It’s interesting. He didn’t exactly promote who he wanted nor was responsible. But it’s obvious he was indicating Devin Hester had the explosive upside and ability to produce in multiple ways versus a guy or two that was higher floor and more likely to produce immediately. They obviously took Hester and he scored on the opening kickoff of the Super Bowl 10 months later on his way to a HOF career.
  3. Nah- We’re not mocking fans who have legitimate concerns. That’s not you though. You keep repeating the same old thing. “Ballard doesn’t care.” “The season is over.” Etc etc. I understand if fans are tired of not making playoffs, I am too. However, I’m especially tired of the sky is falling commentary on here.
  4. hey now. People play madden and religiously follow pff… they are more than qualified to run a multi billion dollar football franchise. Far better than these losers that have worked 70 plus hours a week for decades in the business.
  5. it is splitting hairs, I agree.. but I’m bored. We need the draft tomorrow- 3 more weeks? Ugh. I don’t think Chris was heavily involved. Maybe to argue with his dad a bit. But there’s no way he was making key decisions over his father. Like you said, he was too stubborn. I don’t dispute he’s an all-time great. But I do dispute that if Peyton F Manning was in his prime under center these last 8 years, we wouldn’t be bickering at one another…
  6. other posters have meaningful conversations and you blab on and on about the same thing..
  7. im always ready for colts football. I’m ready to feel that blood pressure spike!
  8. I mean- you say Polian and what I see is what you mean to be Peyton Manning. that’s my argument. The only thing I’m arguing
  9. well- the owner and head coach have to be on that same page and that’s not the direction the organization chose to go… but sure, let’s put 100% blame on Chris Ballard
  10. mostly focused on Indy. But he still only won 1 Super Bowl. That can’t be considered the best. Sorry, I won’t budge on that. There were plenty that had better success. Belichick’s teams were far better, even when the better qb was here…
  11. I don’t think he’s the best at all. He won 1 Super Bowl with arguably the greatest qb of all time. What did his teams do against Bill Belichick with similar qb play? it was a bad dream. Andrew luck retiring was a nightmare!
  12. exactly. And why? Because the year with manning on the sidelines, we couldn’t win… So they had to release manning and all of Polian’s players to start new with Andrew Luck. what was freeney’s contract- like 20% of the entire cap? lol… we don’t know what Polian would have done without Peyton Manning. The colts could easily be elsewhere, and Peyton Manning would have still been a dominant football player. Just like he was in Denver.
  13. Ballard’s teams with Peyton Manning = same success. that’s my opinion and I’m sticking to it. You can disagree all you want. Manning has his statue outside for a reason. Polian would have lasted half as long as Ballard has without him…
  14. In my best foo fighters voice “it’s times like these we miss the laugh emoji.”
  15. I’m not sure people actually know what the recipe of success is on this forum. I mean, when we say we can’t compare Ballard and Polian because of the “talent drafted that could go out there and not cost us games” as if we didn’t lose 14 games when Peyton manning was out. I can sure compare last season with our backup being a play away from a division title to 2011… People are reactive- obviously. The games aren’t won on paper. They are won on the field, and I didn’t see Houston being light years ahead of us last season, even with our qb out for 6 of the 8 quarters we played them. As much as Diggs and Mixon could bring offensively, they could stunt the development of what they already had on offense last season… and they can bring the problems they have had at their prior teams. These aren’t moves I would expect or hope Ballard to make. I can be a little upset we didn’t do more this free agency, but I can also understand there is a plan to continue being competitive and it’s centered around #5 and 28 being healthy out there together. I’ll reserve judgment until well after the draft when we have a better picture of what our roster looks like. I’m not hopeless like some are…
  16. 🤷‍♂️ I don’t know, but I’m betting there will be plans released quickly to show they are not messing around… Worked in Chicago.
  17. Might as well tank and start over. That’s what some on here prefer I think… Tear it all down, live through a massive rebuild. This team won’t do anything anyways. At least Indianapolis is willing to support the team. Chiefs have back to back superbowls and are looking like they might have to relocate. lol. People are strange.
  18. Manning had nothing to do with elevating players? You really want to make that argument? Tom Brady, Michael Jordan, Lebron James don’t elevate teammates? I don’t buy that at all. We don’t know what Clark and Wayne would have done at other teams at all. We only know what they did when Peyton Manning (or in Wayne’s case towards the end of his career, andrew luck) were throwing to them. Polian did well at defensive end, without any doubts. And Peyton Manning’s high profiled offenses getting large leads helped significantly with those players developing and producing at an elite level.
