  1. Which will be addressed in the next month or so… It is about AR- the team’s success will be determined by his health and playmaking. When you are playing top qb’s, a great secondary only takes you so far. You better have pass rush and the ability to move chains on offense (and most importantly finish drives with points to keep pace.)
  2. there is truth in that. And if things go the way we hope, those teams won’t be playing scrubs at qb against the colts either.
  3. Because he can make plays that Minshew doesn’t. He scored 7 touchdowns in 4 games. I think he fits Steichen’s offense far better. His accuracy is bad? So was Minshew’s… remember that 4th and 1 pass with the division on the line? AR can attack that situation far better and proved to make those throws (remember the Rams game?) and no it doesn’t prove your argument. Because I don’t believe Ballard wants to spend outside the organization. He explored the option and passed on it. The 4 year deal might have been what he passed on. Everyone signed is on 3 year deals- and that ties out with Richardson’s rookie contract (aside from the 5th year). Ballard’s methodical, far more than anyone on here will give him credit for. Hes not just thinking short term of 2024…
  4. the difference between buck and Sneed is that the options at dt that year in the draft was lousy. That is not the case for cornerback this year. At all. And top corners over the past few seasons have done very well their rookie years. the guaranteed money is nothing? I beg to differ. Entirely…
  5. my argument against minshew is that he had better production in Jacksonville in 2020 and only won 1 game that year… He was not responsible for winning games here. the nfl is strange when it comes to qb’s. His age and position is the reason he is making more. Flacco was brought on as a qb2. Minshew possibly might be qb1. It’s not a knock against minshew, I’m happy we had him. And yes I am assuming Richardson will do better, because he is better.
  6. I liked Buckner in that the team was devoid of talent and needed help on the d-line. Using him as example is relying on hindsight and the success he brought. Had he went down with major injuries, no one would have liked it. If sneed regresses or has injuries (which he does have concerns btw) it won’t look so good, because they didn’t just give up a 3rd pick as you mentioned.. they gave up $55 million guaranteed. and then there is the possibility that he would have never even came here over anyone else to begin with…
  7. We won 9 games -in spite- of Gardner minshew being at qb. What did he do other than manage games?
  8. So you think Minshew won us games ? lol… Is that an assumption too? If we are worse off win wise, it will not be because minshew isn’t on the roster… but the season doesn’t start for months, so what is the point in saying we are running it back? Right this minute? Lol
  9. it isn’t though. Because the most important position on the field will be upgraded (whether AR or Joey Flacco is under center) and I think it could be understating things. and- a big and at that- we have a draft upcoming, if you didn’t know. We’ve had some good fortune with impact from players in their rookie years. Downs last year especially.
  10. I'm not sure why they feel that way. It's certainly not the narrative Ballard puts out. He's been pretty outspoken about not paying outsiders big money...
  11. We have less currently. But Chloe is under the assumption (or at least seems to be) that what we have is what we get. Lol. There is no way this safety group is what we are going to get. No chance.
  12. I don't think that is the narrative. It certainly isn't for me. I just don't think Ballard likes to spend on guys outside the organization. And his reasoning makes sense. When you draft guys, you have a good feel for them. But you don't truly know what kind of worker, teammate, etc. you are getting. That's why it's less risk focusing on the draft. You get them for a cheaper contract. When you dish big contracts out, you better know what kind of guy you are giving them to. If they come in, flaunt their money and aren't good teammates/hard workers, then you are going to create problems in the organization. This is why he rewarded Pittman, Stewart, Moore, Franklin, etc. Because they have established themselves as leaders in the club and have respect. Not one player in the locker room is going to be upset that those guys earned big money. It could be entirely different with a newcomer, no matter the talent.
  13. A great deal of this board has never managed anything in their lives, and it's blatantly obvious. You don't make rash decisions on personnel in any form of business. Especially if you know you cannot easily replace their productivity.
  14. I've been on good defenses whose offenses consistently stalled. It's disheartening. A good defense can give up a lot of points in lopsided games that make it seem like they weren't good at all. When in reality, had the offense scored even just a time or two more, the game might have changed entirely. I'm talking 40 to 7 games. A long drive or two could make that a competitive 20 to 28 game coming down stretch late in a game. In the NFL, you have to consistently put up points. Ballard stated we needed more explosiveness on offense and to limit explosiveness on defense. The fact that neither of those have been addressed tells me it's not that he hasn't tried or doesn't expect to at all. Just means the first few waves of free agency didn't result in it. It's still very early...
  15. It is, because i don't think it's significant to say the Titans are in a better position to make big moves because he is more further along than AR. It's not that significant. Highlight on every game. Meaning he didn't have a season ending injury. He still was knocked out of games, just like he was in college when he hurt his big toe...
  16. older does not equate to experience. He had one extra season than AR did in college. He didn’t prove much during it. He has a full 5 games more in the nfl. That’s hardly being an experienced qb. “probably”…
  17. What are you a cop? Are you the head of the censorship bureau on this forum? This is a colts offseason/ballard grievance merger. If I want to read opposing viewpoints and comment on them, I think I am entitled to do so.
  18. Does waiting until the draft before throwing a fit on here ever cross your mind as smart? yes.
  19. in what aspect? That he played 5 more games and didn’t have surgery? He still had injuries… he still scored 2 touchdowns more than AR with 5 extra games. He is not further along… He’s not better… they spent money on a receiver because they desperately needed to. Their former GM gave their best player away, and they were walking away from the bulk of their offense in D Henry.
  20. sure it does. You have to consistently move the ball to keep defenses from scoring. It wasn’t ironic that they were directly correlated last year. When we moved the ball well, teams didn’t score as much. When minshew couldn’t do anything, we got steamrolled. and again- it’s a month away from the draft (that has good corners available) and you are acting like we are ready to roll this team out tomorrow.
