He is type A. He and Ballard seem like an odd pair long term. I don't see their personalities matching all that well

Ballard hired him after a very long intensive search.Give him some credit. Would guess they have some things incommon or he wouldn't have hired him. My guess is they have a lot in common and will work great together.

Props to Vermeil who had the courage of his convictions and publicly supported Warner so strongly.

But, at the time, Warner was a literal nobody from nowhere.   Better known for being a clerk at a grocery store.   On the other hand,  Gardner Minshew is much more of a known quantity with a successful track record.   So it’s not quite an apples to apples comparison.    But I appreciated the throwback reference.

Not a clerk but a carryout boy. Carried groceries for my mom. From my alma mater.😜

Richardson is a good quarterback. As bummed out as i am about his injury, he could really use this time to reflect, figure out what he needs to work on, and come back even better. He does alot of things really good, just need to refine some things and get in on the game.

Honestly, if i was a professional qb i would need 4-6 weeks to work on things and refine my game after a while.

This could be a huge positive.

Problem is it is his throwing arm and the part of his game that needs the most work is his throwing acturacy which he can work on now.

Nice try chief, but you fail again.

He’s one of my favorite players. I have expressed nothing but my desire for this situation to be remedied immediately and my disappointment in both sides for letting it play out like this from the start. Never once said, or even insinuated I didn’t want him here.

But since you’re such a know it all genius go find my posts where I say I don’t like him being here. Do you need me to hold your hand and give you a tutorial on how to use the search feature, or do you think you can be a big boy and figure it out yourself? It’s not difficult, and it sure would throw egg on my face if you can produce it like you said.

Don’t make a claim you can’t back up because I’ll call you on it 10 times out of 10. Now we’re all patiently waiting on you to prove I say what you indicate I have. Be a real shame if you failed at that, too.

All of that said, however, he being one of my favorite players doesn’t mean I’m just open my mouth and look the other way while he pisses into it. He faked an injury to engineer a holdout from camp til today. Full stop. It is what it is.

I’ll call a spade a spade, even on my favorite player, unlike some people eager to speak out of turn and make a fool of themselves.

And yes, I’m talking about you there because, you know, the shoe fits. I’ve no doubt you need the clarification.

And you know for certain he was faking an injure? You have a great deal of inside info? When did I speak out of turn? And what claim did I make that I can't back up?Did I state that you dislike JT? What clarification do I need ?

Either Ballard massively screwed up the initial talks and didn't convey to Taylor and his agent that we are willing to give him a contract as soon as he passes a physical... OR everything Ballard was saying this whole off-season about why we haven't offered contract was compelete and utter nonsense.

Give it up. He's a Colt like it or not.

The Colts know much more about Taylor’s health and attitude than they did a month or two ago.

And a decision this big is NOT Ballard’s alone.   This was done with full support of Irsay.

And Streichen and the whole team. The coaches and the team leaders have expressed how glad they are that he was coming back.

I agree with you actually. But we really don’t know how things are going to play out. But he does need to get that first hit out the way.

He's been hit quite a big and very hard on this board but I guess that doesn't count heh!haha

Ballard made those comments in his camp opening presser. Taylor reported to camp late. It wasn’t obscenely late, I want to say it was less than an hour, but he reported late, and then later that afternoon when he was officially placed on the PUP there was quite a hubub about it because it flew directly in the face of what we’d heard just a few hours before from Ballard himself.

There was a legitimate injury, no one disputes that. But he should have been good to go by the first of July at the very latest.

Remember, very early on in all of this there was allegedly an injury that took place away from the team. I’ve always kind of felt like they (JT and his agent,) concocted that story because they knew that saying it was still the ankle after all that time was silly. But once they found out that the Colts could void this year of his contract because of an injury that took place away from the team they had to pivot and go back to the ankle. Because the ankle had in fact been injured it gave them a faint shred of plausible deniability to hide behind and they took advantage of it. It allowed him to hold out all of camp and the first 4 weeks free of fines, which is a mighty convenient bonus for a holdout.

Give it up. He's a Colt whether you like it or not.

I’m glad he’s back but with him missing a quarter of the season I’m still concerned about his play this year. If you look at his previous years it has always taken him 4-5 games to get going.  I remember his first season people wanted him cut because his “ vision” was terrible. Then around the 4th game something clicked and he became the player we all love. Same for the year after that minus the calls for him to be cut. It took him a few games to start producing. Last year I’m not going to count because of obvious reasons but if history is a predictor it’s going to take him awhile to start playing well.

Probably the same guys that have suggested Pittman Raimann and practically every other rookie that has ever put on a Colys uniform. Give it a few games and you'll hear it again I'm sure.

Check the numbers. He’s not that this year.

I just looked up the QB ratings and 3rd year starter Lawrence is 17th with an 89 rating while 3rd game rookie Richardson is 22nd with an 85.4 rating. Pretty darn close.  As for QBR, they’re reversed and Richardson is 17th & Lawrence is 22nd.  Those were ESPN stats. So show me where these others had him top 10 and by what metrics?

I was talking preseason ratings based on past years performance. According to your ratings Purdy is the best QB in the league followed by Mayfield and Goff meaning all three are Better QBs than Mahomes and Allen. I believe there is 32 GMs and several million fans who would disagree with you, At the start of the year several publication put out their list of the top QBs in the league and Mahomes was 1st and Lawrence ranked 7 or 8 depending on the 5 I listed.

Based on performance  11 qbs have been better than Lawrence so far this year. Lamar Jackson, Brock purdy, baker mayfield,Goff, mahomes,Josh Allen, cousins, cj stroud,Russell wilson,Tua, herbert.

  11. Very concerned about our injuries now with 3 starting OL and 2 starting DL plus a sub on injury report. One starting corner gone for the season. Hard to get cohesion on the OL with 3 guys not practicing. See Leonard is hurt. May be best as Henry may run over him and he could really get hurt.

Hoping OL and DL are ready for this game. If so Colts 24-17 winners.

Problem is most people don't have patience. I even thought that it would take Leonard 8 or 9 games before he started to become at least good again. I posted that back in August. In today's world, the younger generation want players to get cut or not be back the next year if they have 2 or 3 bad games. Never seen anything like it.

It would have been so priceless had this forum been around when Peyton threw 28 INT's as a rookie and we went 3-13. Then 10 years later go back and look at the comments and see how many people say he was a bust, sucked, etc.. Homer Simpson Laughing GIF by FOX TV

Sorry 2006. Generally agree with you but can't agree with this post. First the Manning comparison make no sense. Peyton was a rookie and was busting his tail to get better and was the best we had and was on a rookie contract. Shaq appears to be avoiding contact and I believe we have guys that would be more productive and Shaq is making almost $20M. I we don't care about trying to win play him.

Time for them to give Grant Stuard a few of Leonard's snaps just to get a comparison

I believe it was Olubi that replaced him Sunday in the 2nd half.

Edit: Didn't replace him much as Olubi only got 7 snaps and some were for Franklin. Be did have the same # of tackles in 7 snaps as Shaq did in 37, Both had 3.
