Is it possible that the Colts were holding plays back for the Chiefs? I mean not to show too much.
After much thought on this, I believe it is entirely possible, even though our ok offense did play sloppy in the 2nd half.

We had a 3 TD lead and forced two three and outs to start the second half. Why be aggressive? Run the ball, run the clock.
We weren't just running the ball though....

My take on this is that the more balanced team has the advantage; that being the Colts. Offensively, Colts and Chiefs are ranked 7th and 1st respectively. But defensively, they are 11th (Colts) and 31st (Chiefs). So clearly the Colts are the more balanced team, and I think that bodes well. In my mind, it comes down to how well Eberflus adapts. They can't sit back there in zone coverage all day.
I have a feeling we won't. Mahomes will carve us up, so I'm sure there will be some pressure added in.

Problem is Houston almost never sends Coutee deep. Kansas City will most definitely go deep to Hill and even more.
If that is the case I hope Hooker will have his time to shine in the spotlight....but they'll likely go to Geather's side...lol...

I think the Colts controlled the score in the 2nd half. Conservative plays and no mistakes.
You also have to give credit to the Texans for making their adjustments. They didn't win the division by being a bad team.
That may be, but it would have been nice to get at least one touchdown on those four drives, to put the nail in the coffin, but I guess our D was playing so good, it didn't matter. I was frustrated with our O in the 2nd half, until the last drive. But that might have been by design.

We certainly have a shot but this will be the toughest test we have faced.
This is the number one offense in the league we will be facing; yes it will be a huge test. However, I think it will be a shoot out, because there defense isn't as good as others we have played.

I think many Texans fans never liked O'Brien to begin with, so its probably easy for them to say they were out coached. Not saying he wasn't, but many of their fans harbor a negative bias before a game even starts.
I like Watson, but he's no Luck, so O'Brien was disadvantaged in that regard.
He's not Luck...but....I fear him in upcoming years.....he's only going to get better. I'll take Luck over anyone, because he's my favorite quarterback, but Watson is a legitimate up and coming threat. Wait until HE has an o- line.....

The team played well
But, I take my hat off to two players
Smith had his best game of the year and kept a future HOF player, Watt at his peak in check (TWO total tackles)
He didnt require any help, and blocked one on one, but he did an awesome job.
He is CLEARLY MUCH better than he was mid season. We may have a pro bowl RT in the making.
The second player that shined is Geathers. He did a fantastic job IMHO. His best game this year
He had 9 tackles from the SS position
Please just STAY HEALTHY !
Last point
We have possibly the best QB in the NFL.
The prior front office should do jail time for not putting a proper O line in front of this guy sooner
but......
Does anyone else feel like he comes off a bit goofy in his interviews? (Which is A-OK)
Agreed, both players played lights out today!

This team continue to surprise me in all kinds of different and unexpected ways every single week. I know we are different type of running game animal when we have Kelly at center and the difference is huge between games he plays and games he didn't play, but this is just whole new level of domination. This was not some random run defense. We barely got 50 yards of rushing combined in the previous 2 games vs Houston, but we didn't have our whole O-Line for either game. Anyways - even in my wildest dreams I didn't expect this type of thumping and complete annihilation can happen vs the best run defense in the league.
Holy hell! Both the players and Frank deserves so much credit. Frank set up the run game through the first drive when we carved them up with pre-planned throws off play action on multiple occasions. Guess what happened on the second drive? The Texans decided they need more help in the secondary rather than sending the safeties in the box and the O-Line and Mack marched down the field almost exclusively running the ball until we reached the red-zone. WOW!
i love this team... I LOVE IT!
I remember at the introductory press-conference Frank saying something to the effect "I want this offense to run the ball when it wants to run the ball and to throw the ball when we want to". This is not as simple as it sounds. Opponents usually take away stuff and you have at least to some degree to conform to what the opponent gives you. This game was the embodiment of that sentiment. We dictated the game from start to finish. We threw when we needed and wanted, we ran when we wanted and needed to. This was such a complete game for us when you include how good our defense played.
Bravo! What an incredible team effort!
We are getting into our stride right when we need to.
While I loved this game, I don't think we had our way in the second half. Zero points and what, 4 punts? Our defense was stout but until the final possession (in the second half) I don't think we were doing anything we wanted in the second half. That being said, I am proud of these Colts. What an awesome win!!

Mack is incredible. He can grind yards like a young frank gore, but has the speed, vision, and cut of LT
Just lacks the power in his legs to push a pile. I loved his long run to the left side. Really good moves and vision!

We'll need to run like this in the second half against more powerful offenses. GG Colts!!!

I’m expecting Hines to pull up and drain a deep 3 and get all the way to third base before he ignores the sign at 3rd and gets thrown out at home plate.
You heard it here first.
Imagine sending him AND TY deep!!

I mean, I just think you need a pair of working eyes. But it's even more obvious when the stats bear out what you see on TV lol.
True, but numbers on TOP of the eye test are always good to have!

Hopefully all these stats are proof that we need help at WR....as posted in other topics.

I like them both, but never in my years as a Colts fan (since the Manning days) have I been EXCITED to watch the O-Line. I look forward to it every week. So my vote goes to Nelson, though I love them both!

What does a Tight End signing have to do with a defensive player’s injury?
I meant DE... meaning his replacement. My bad.

No turnovers
Bad penalties
Double hopkins
Shut down miller
If every team could do that every game, they would would be unstoppable. No turnovers, no bad penalties, double top wideout AND shutdown the run game. That's alot to ask, but to honest, we've been doing some of it, so there is hope!
