  1. Per ESPN; Colts will have to pay nothing, including the guaranteed money since he decided to retire.  so at least that is positive news.  Must have really been a significant issue for him personally to retire out of the blue like that....  wish him the best i whatever life has brought him.

INDIANAPOLIS -- Center Phil Costa wasn't even around long enough to be asked about dating Hulk Hogan's daughter let alone possibly hike the ball to quarterback Andrew Luck with the Indianapolis Colts.

Costa, in a surprising announcement, has decided to retire.

"Phil feels it's in his best interest to retire from the game," Colts general manager Ryan Grigson said in a statement released by the team. "We certainly understand and wish him nothing but the best."

The Colts signed Costa to a two-year, $2.7 million contract that included $450,000 guaranteed last month.

UPDATE: The Colts do not have to pay Costa any of the guaranteed money he was scheduled to make since he decided to retire.

The idea was for Costa to compete with Khaled Holmes for the starting center position, but I got the sense that the Colts were hoping Holmes would win the job. Costa, who started with the Dallas Cowboys in 2011, was beat out by rookie Travis Frederick last season.

Holmes only played 12 snaps and was a healthy inactive 11 times last season as a rookie.

Now the Colts are in serious of need of adding another center to the roster. This isn't a position they should be in with their franchise player Luck. The little bit of good news out of Costa telling the Colts he was retiring is that he did it now and not after training camp had already started. It gives Grigson some time to try to find another center to add to the roster.

  2. So like at 1 am this morning I was at my girl friends after prom and they had a hypnotist. And the hypnotist said that he had worked with people such as our very own Andrew Luck :) i thought that was a kinda cool thing to share

Sure hope he had Mr. Luck's permission to say that.......

  3. This would be a horrible option and do nothing to address our o-line. As corgi said we'd be replacing, "cow crap, with goose crap." Going from one horrible center to another.

Big talk, but what credentials does he have over Grigson,  over is it just talking "crap".

  4. you are looking at a list of total money over the life of a contract, not what they are payed last year. did you really think then top punters are payed $20+million dollars?

I heard him too, sure sounds like he plans on entering the marketplace.  Also he said he was fined by the Colts 10,000 for his tweet that featured Luck in the background....said his paycheck was $235 for that week.....

  5. If there was even a remote chance to get Harbaugh I'd definitely explore it....COACHING is the weak link...If we had Harbaugh and Roman it would be scary how good we could be...Unfortunately, it'll never happen, just got to hope Chudzinski helps make up for Paganos inferior coaching enough....

    22-10....  DEFINITELY COACHES FAULT...

  6.  .  Good to know that Coach Pagano REALLY thinks his (and our) QB is worth the #1 pic.  Who knows, maybe I'll even watch the game.

Pagano had nothing to do with draft in the Pro Bowl.  He simply will coach the team Sanders and company drafted.  That said I agree that Pagano would have taken Luck #1 if he had a chance.

  7. I think he'll be the #2.  Rogers showed some really nice flashes last year.  If he can keep developing and stay out of trouble, he has #1 potential.

Potentail is all it is for Da'Rick right now.  for every "great" catch he has 2 drops.  he doesn't get seperation and his route running is average at best.  Hopefully he will significantly improve and reach that potential he is holding onto right now.  TY on the other hand has proven he is a solid reciever, a game changer that other teams have to game plan for.... His size will not stop him from being a #1 reciever.

  8. Keenan Allen doesn't need to get stronger. Neither do a few other players Grigs passed on

???  Allen plays a different position, different strength needed.  Plus Allen does need to get stronger and recoup from injury so it hopefully doesn't happen again.  Again, maybe you should call Irsay and offer your vast expertise..... Another January, hindsight GM.
