he mentioned we don't have a "Starting 2nd CB" and there isn't one that deserves to be anyway.....

Nor a 2nd starting WR, nor a starting RB. Lorenzo Carter on the board and we reach again for a situational pass rusher? Ummm stupid pick there.
We don't have a starting 2nd CB..... but gee we have depth... agree with you... disappointing picks with much better talent still available at the time.

This I agree with. He wanted to build through the D-Line, but when you have to reach, trade down or go to plan B and go BPA. That's where I disagree with him.
no difference makers...other than Nelson.. just cheap depth..just like FA... someone has to start and there was much better talent that wasn't a reach.... VERY disappointing... another 4 yrs of Luck's career wasted...

Yikes. Going for need I guess. Ballard I thought was a best player available guy.
But they are young... so at least Ballard stuck to that concept.

Exactly.... Not sure what is worse; all the pre-draft hype, mock drafts or all the nonsense political campaign ads on TV..both are a wasteland....

My early prediction no one wants (or is going to like). I see 6 or 7 wins there and that's with Luck. That first game is almost a must win and that's looking at it in April.
BR has Colts at 5 - 11 and tied for 3 pick in 2019 draft.... building thru the draft, Ballard may get his wish...

Again; cheap and depth.... still no play makers or difference makers on either side of the ball. Not much left out there now and certainly can't get many, if any, immediate ones in the draft. Not sure what good a big amount of cap space will do the Colts. Don't care if it is only April, not like these type of players are suddenly coming available in the summer..... may take 2 or 3 drafts at best... meanwhile Colts stock pile cheap, depth players to fill the roster and sit on 2nd most cap space....
At least my season tickets aren't going to increase.....

Based off of what Reggie? The fact he has a slow, methodical approach to his rehab instead of rushing back like he tried to last year?
Many in the national media are talking about the fact that Luck hasn't thrown a meaningful ball in well over a year, not played and 15 months after surgery he still isn't able to throw a true ball. They discussed the fact he has to rework his footwork and anything he can to take the stress off his shoulder. The question they ask is will he ever be what was expected at the start of his career... They think not. It was a major topic on NFL network this morning. I personally can't stand the talking heads at the national level, but we all may be a bit guilty of drinking the blue kool-aid and maybe not as realistic as we should be.... Luck says he will be ready for Training camp, whatever "ready" means. but if he can't be allowed to throw now, a true training camp for Luck seems a long way off...... Hope not!

Back up and special teams filler. Yawn...is it time for the draft yet? Wake me when it's time to try and add some actual play makers to this roster.
ST player, depth, cheap.... still no starters but lots of cheap depth.... going to be a long 2 to 3 years

I don’t believe it’s a full rebuild .... we have a few key pieces in place .... some coming back from injury and some just added. With this draft and a few more FA pick ups we will be fine. We are building long term ..... and won’t need to blow up like JAX, TEN and HOUS in like 2-3 years.
No we won't blow up like JAX, TEN, and HOUS in 2 - 3 years...... we are blowing up NOW!

Adding a potential starter or even a depth player is a good thing. I don't understand why some have a problem with it?Slauson is depth at best and at age 32 at the twilight of an average career... goes against getting younger and faster that Ballard is preaching....

Tennessee still sitting nice. Suh taking a visit there today. Look for him to sign. They need pass rushers.
And the Colts don't? Colts could use some impact players..... What is NFL Rules on Tanking...

Sorry, just had to.
Not over, but true impact players are gone and now we are on to the 2nd wave of "Potential"

Wow. I prefer Swoope. If Ebron couldn’t get it going with Stafford then I don’t see him producing here enough to justify 7.5 million a year
I agree; Bleacher Report calls Ebron "Underwhelming" in his play vs selection "Never living up to expectations". He may do ok, but the glaring holes the Colts have compared to need for a TE doesn't seem to be a top priority. Not all of these holes can be fixed in the draft..... Disappointed in Ballard thus far, we will likely be 2 to 3 years away from playoffs and 2 or 3 years wasted in Luck's window.

To me, it’s very alarming he hasn’t been signing players, or at least one big one. It actually extremely frustrating to see the others in our division do it and we don’t considering we are now the worst team in the South.
The only comfort I get is that Ballard MUST have some kind of plan. No way we don’t sign Tryann Mathieu for 7.5 mil unless Ballard has some plan for the long term future.
Its just odd to see someone gamble so much on their draft picks. If he has a bad draft, or players don’t work out, he will be fired. I pray Ballard’s strategy works.
Then he cuts the only name big name player HE signed and last year... blames scheme change..guess no one runs the ball when they face a 4-3 defense. Then again, maybe they won't run against the Colts, since we are letting our only corners walk... going to be a long 2 or 3 years.

We don't need this guy. We have Swoope and others in the pipeline.
I agree, what we need us an OL to give a QB time to find a TE or other receiver, assuming we have any left...

Never know, bossman Jim may have told him don't spend for this season.
Meaning build this thing up a little through the draft before we do anything major. A total opinion, but there's probably several factors which we aren't privy to. Or it could just be guys not wanting to join a potentially Luck-less team and going 4-12.
Who knows at this point?
Agree, but Ballard has done nothingto even fill o e.of the numerous holes in thus team or to protect his biggest asset in Luck.... likely another long year or maybe he knows Luck will not be ready for some or all if the season.

Seems to be the general feeling of most of the talking heads too...Has upside, but very raw. It is disappointing to me as there were significantly better options still available. Hope for once a pick hits their upside..
