Pat is my hero. No, you don't normally trash ex-employees, but I think this is a special circumstance where the outgoing party had it coming. Many rumors about Grigson being a total ******* and it's looking more likely that there is something to them.
-
I would rather replace him as well, but I think the reason is that Grigson undermined him so much that Irsay wants to give Chuck at least one season to prove what he can do without Grigson hanging over his every decision and criticizing his every move. That and the fact that there are not many good coaches available right now.

Well again, I think if you go down the list of guys that the Colts have that are truly considered above average (excluding kickers), the list is very very small.
Luck
Hilton
Kelly
Maybe Davis though he was down this year
Anyone else?
I mean, that is pretty freaking pathetic. It has to be at the very bottom of the league as far as players that other teams would love to have.
Probably Walden as well.

The guys on NFL Live just said today that other than Luck, the Colts have the worst talent in the AFC South. They basically wasted the years where Luck was making very little money and here we are 5 or so years later sitting with the worst talent in a bad division.(maybe we have more talent than Cleveland, but we are still one of the worst in this regard) Then we have an owner who still doesn't believe this is a fireable offense. Irsay has let personal friendships cloud his judgement. I have no doubt about that now.

You are projecting what you think is the truth to what is actual truth.
I didn't say it was the truth. I said in my original post that it's better if I don't know the truth.

Your loss. We could be Cleveland. San Francisco. San Diego. Rams. I don't know you but based on you just saying that. Don't sound like a true fan. More of a band wagoner. Stay with a team when things are going good, ditch em when they are going bad.
I am as much of a "true fan" as you are. It is my prerogative if I choose to boycott a franchise based on decisions of a clueless owner. IMO, they are wasting Luck's career. I have better things to do than go out of my way than support this franchise if Irsay is letting personal friendships get in the way of really building a winning team.
-
It's probably better for me if the real story never comes out. If I found out that Irsay stayed loyal to Grigson and it cost us Gruden/Manning, I very well might be done with this franchise. I didn't follow the Pacers for years and years after the brawl era.

Elvis and Tupac are actually coming over to my house tomorrow to get drunk with me and jam. It will be on the news, stay tuned. They are alive and well.
Cool. I also heard something about Will Ferrell and Chad Smith being separated at birth, but I can't confirm it.

I saw a rumor where Pagano is going to be fired on Tuesday. We'll see how reliable it is soon enough.
-
At least I have my Cowboys to fall back on. It's looking more and more like this franchise is toast.

Okay, I'll bite "Tom Sawyer" then? Just a stab in the dark.
Hard to say. I'm a Rush fanatic, so my fav song is probably not even a radio song. Among the radio songs, I would probably say Freewill or Subdivisions:)

'Limelight' is probably my favorite Rush song actually. But, I'm sure Jimmy does have a Lifeson guitar in his private stash of musical treasures presto123.
I hope so! Limelight is great, but not near my fav Rush song.

Manning is one of the true legends of the NFL in the film room. Nobody outworked him in this regard. He also knows everything there is to know about offensive sets and reading defenses. You don't think that knowledge and film room ethic would translate into scouting? I disagree. When it comes to football smarts, I would bet on Manning every time.

Bonus points for the Fleetwood Mac 'Gold Dust Woman' iconic song plug/joke M-432.
This is why a person must skim every post in a thread--hidden gems like this. I like it when regulars do crazy, off the wall stuff like that for comic relief. Plus, Jimmy probably has some Lindsay Buckingham guitars in his collection anyway right?
If he was smart, he would have an Alex Lifeson guitar in his collection.

If and when Gruden gets hired, it will be an excuse for me to dig out Child's Play and watch it again for the first time in a long time. haha!
-
In Grigs we tru........oh.....nevermind....
-
How about set their sights higher than winning a pathetic division and being a first round out.
-
If this isn't a true picture of Grigson's resume, I don't know what is.
-
Bad example. Players don't make all the crucial decisions and personnel decisions that can be the difference in wins/losses. Coaches jobs are always on the line regardless of contract length.
-
Add up Pagano's record in all 5 seasons against teams outside of our division. I bet it's less than .500. That is truly the coach he is. Our pathetic division wins are just win padders. That 11-5 season(Arians coached most of the first one) are not what they seem. The real story is that we rarely are competitive against the real elite teams of the league. That should be the measuring stick, not making the playoffs in the worst division in professional sports.

Good, then I suspect you'll be pleasantly surprised.
At least I hope so, as I know you do also.
If they disappoint, I suspect that's when they'll be gone, and you can still be happy.
It's a win, win, really.
They didn't already disappoint? Getting manhandled in the worst division in professional sports? Even our decent records in previous seasons with Pagano was more an effect of just having Luck and playing 6 games in a horrible division.

Whether you are somebody who always thought Pags would return or somebody that thinks something has been or still is in the works (as I do), I have no idea why a tweet from Alex Marvez would do anything to change or confirm your opinion about what is or has been going on.
This is nonsense all the way around.
This is all over TV too. Colin Cowherd just talked about what a mistake it is. This is REAL. Pagano is back.

I have lost pretty much all interest in this franchise. Thanks Irsay!

JMV said yesterday that Peyton didn't feel ready but there was mutual interest.
There are also rumors out there that Manning wanted partial ownership. Don't know if I can see that. I mean, how much money do you need after a while? haha.
What's the logic behind Pagano staying?/ Irsay's Decision (Merge)

I didn't say it was. I just said I want to replace him. I was just trying to reason IRSAY'S decision. It wouldn't have been mine by any stretch.
