I think Rick is closest to the truth...Andrew is probably suffering from depression. When that happens you just cannot function properly...the only option is to bail.

Brought up this possibility a couple days ago. When Luck mentioned "dark days" multiple times, it's one of the first things I thought of. We may never know the complete truth, but it makes sense. Most NFL players probably feel like they couldn't even use depression as an excuse to step away either. The stigma would make them look weak. Coming up with an injury would be a way out. Not saying that's what happened here, but makes one wonder. Nobody knows what Luck is dealing with other than the man himself. I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt.

    Really like him.

I said today I think his arm is stronger and his release is quicker than Luck's.

If he can keep his head together?  He could be really good.

I see NFL qb written all over him.

Might take awhile before Kelly gets his shot. Colts are going to give JB every opportunity to prove himself. I also was not real impressed with games JB has played for the Colts. Wishing him all the best though.

  3. Luck seems like a good hearted, sensitive guy. He mentioned "dark days" more than once. Nobody truly knows what he is going through and dealing with other than Luck himself. What if it's partly a mental health issue like depression/anxiety or something? I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt. I've made peace with it and wish Luck all the best. It didn't work out to the degree that all of us would have hoped, but that's life and it was worth taking a shot on Andrew. He is a class act. Probably hardest thing he's ever had to do was walk away.

I’ve never been this sad in my life. Not a minute goes by where I don’t think about all of this. I didn’t even get to ever watch him play.. :(

Maybe some perspective? It's only football in the end. People get too emotionally invested. Don't worry....I've been there in the past. Refuse to do it again.

I read somewhere else that he reminds them of Jim Harbough. I think they were right. He looks to be very capable. Who knows? Maybe he will be the next Warner? wouldn't that be a turn of events. The Colts are due for something good to happen.

Warner had unmatched character and Kelly seems to have very little despite any kind of physical talent. Sure people can change, but bad incidents keep happening over and over. I want somebody at QB that I can root for. He's 25 years old. At what point does he get it?

All this Chad Kelly hype is laughable. He hasn't played against a first team yet. Let's see if the quarterback whisperer can work on Brissett

I wonder why the Colts signed him in the first place. His multiple police incidents makes it seem like he's a total ****. Character issues don't begin to describe it. He even made a terrorist mass shooting threat in a bar. wth? Not like he is 20 years old either. He's 25 for crying out loud. Is that somebody we want carrying the torch for the franchise?

  7. Forgive me if I'm wrong, but I was under the assumption that most franchise QB's have it written right into their contract that prohibits them from doing any dangerous off season activities like snowboarding. Not trying to bash Luck here, but if he's so smart/dedicated, how did he make the snowboarding mistake once let alone twice? Something not adding up here.....

Well what can I say. This is a real slap in the face and I did not see this coming in a million years. I was not only wrong about him starting week 1 but he is retiring?? I just woke up and read the news and I still can't believe it. Now we are going to see what Ballard and Reich are really made of without Luck playing. I wish Luck well but I have to admit I am sick to my stomach right now and really disappointed about his decision. This is why people in general should not let sports run their life, you invest your money, time, and emotions into a team and then something like this happens.

I used to do that. Haven't for a long time. Not worth it. Rather trust myself than somebody else.

This alone makes me dislike Chad Kelly and this is far from the only incident:

Kelly was arrested back in Buffalo eight months later after getting kicked out of a local restaurant, later attempting to re-enter the restaurant and then punching a bouncer after refusing to leave the restaurant a second time. According to police reports, Kelly, who had committed to Ole Miss a week before, allegedly threatened to “go to my car and get my AK-47 and spray this place.” Once police were called to the scene, Kelly “allegedly scuffled with officers while being removed from a pickup truck.”

Are you kidding me? Making terrorist threats on top of all the other stuff?

  10. Feels like I've been punched in the gut. Feels like election night 2016. Colts put their hopes and finances into what they thought was a guy with ultimate character and got burned. After waiting forever for Irsay to finally make the right decision to can Pagano and Grigson and now we get this? My excitement for the Colts is gone.

I'm not going to name names, but I'm wondering why we aren't seeing certain posters when things are going so well...

Where are the people that weren't impressed with Ballard?

Where are the people that thought Luck was done?

Where are the people that thought the Colts had the worst roster in the NFL?

Winning cures all.  Including an infestation of forum pests.  :sip:

Are they the same people that were proclaiming that Myles Turner of the Pacers was useless? One of the reasons I quit posting on Pacers board for the most part.

Meh, you're supposed to take a difference maker at 6, not a Guard. The amount of draft capital in the o-line is now absurd and people are still saying "at least now they're going to protect Luck".. Yawn. We've thrown high picks at this problem before.

I would have been happier with some D.

A "once in a generation" G is a difference maker. Some draft people even say he's the best value in draft. This is not just another O lineman. Totally psyched about this pick. Have you payed attention what a difference drafting stud O linemen did for the Cowboys?

To me, there is no elephant in the room . My eyes are wide open, and i can see quite clearly what my team is. I'm excited and look forward to the new direction. BTW, the Colts will not know the status of Andrew Luck before the draft and they will not be taking a QB with the 3rd pick.

You are not the GM or the coach. Your opinion is just that. Not fact. Next....

  14. Integrity? The Pats have none. Who does the owner, coach, and QB support that is the picture of corruption? I'll let you figure it out, but let me just say that if it was the Colts organization in the same boat, I would disown them. Not even joking. This is about right vs wrong at this point.
