Worth remembering is lying season.
Yep and after last year I don't believe any of the pundits. Whoever we draft will probably have high ras score

Colts are clearly trading out first round lol

I look at all of them but I highlight the ones I feel strongest about from time to time. Thomas is up there for me and may be there when we pick. Of course we have no control over the selection as fans
I agree thomas is one of of my favorites along with Worthy for speed reasons.

Man I feel real strong about Brian Thomas jr. I think it's on and cracking if we get him. His game is just consistent and he is such a hard cover. I like him being paired with Pittman. I really do!
I'm trying not to fall in love with one particular player as Ballard may not pick them

Hooker. Didn't love up to hype. Nelson easy pick as generational. Buckner was 49ers pick and we traded for him. Paye has been a disappointment. AR looks good but needs time.
Paye excellent run defender

I'd be willing to draft a CB pretty high. #1 overall might be a stretch but I could do third or so.
If it were Deion sanders and I needed a corner I'd be ok with first. Of course he played offense and sp teams too
Or Darrell Revis level

Weird comment when we have one of the fastest QBs and maybe the fastest RB in the league.
We dont seem to have a 4.3 WR on the team but Pierce and Downs are probably low 4.4
I agree we do need an elite field stretcher that actually plays at 4.3 speed

And the biggest reason he wasn’t was the terrible knee injury he suffered. Missed one year and still had a hutch in his running form the next year. It wasn’t so much the ability as it was the devastating injury. He was on pace to break rookie record in ints prior to that

He has a lot of versatility and a lot of teams see him as a safety and the highest safety on the board. I believe the Colts view him as both. He could very valuable going into the season. If the corners don't play well, you could try him at one of the corner spots. If the corners look good, you can slide him to safety. U could slide him to what ever position is needing it the most. . To me he is a late 1st rounder mostly 2nd. He could get drafted in the 1st to play by most teams. If you are drafting him to play corner, he to me is a 2nd rounder
He reminds of that guy the Browns took a few years back that was supposed to be able to play multiple positions
Just now, OLD FAN MAN said:ballard drafted hooker in the first with pick 15, that did not work out for us
He was supposed to be the next Ed Reed. He clearly wasn't

yeah but is defense more important than having the best offense we can put forward? The games that we were blown out on were pitiful on offense and the wins we left on the table were due to not having enough offense. We can win with an explosive offense and a slightly improved defense from last year. I don’t see it the other way around. Ideally, there needs to be balance. Hoping we strike that balance this draft.Plus there are a couple free agents left that can improve the defense. Not sure I can say the same for the offensive free agents

I don’t really see a free safety in the first two rounds. They reportedly view desean as a versatile corner. I don’t think corner is necessarily the only route in the 1st round, but I’d be shocked to see our 1st as a defensive player outside of an edge rusher. I don’t make much prediction, because I have no idea what to expect. I can make the same argument for not needing to pick a receiver in the 1st. I think there is good talent day 2.Unless they turn DeSean into free safety

You can use that scenario with D players as well
That scenario played out with the defense last year.im fine with defense 1st and 3rd Or second and third. Both need to be addressed with first two picks is all I'm saying.

In an offensive league wouldn't it be prudent to have some sort of a defense? Do you plan on out scoring teams 37-35 every game? Plus like i have said in other posts. You go all pass happy and you will leave Richardson open up for injury if you are passing all day . This team paid Taylor big money and I expect this team to still be run centric and I think that is going to surprise people. Protect the defense by burning time and keeping them off the field. You score, they score, you score, they score and its a vicious cycle lol.
Put this way if pittman gets hurt are you really comfortable with pierce as the number one. IM NOT.

The rules are set up for offensive people to prosper. Also defense isn't that bad to begin with injuries and offense not staying on field long enough also affects that. Drafting an offensive play maker helps offense stay on field and keeps defense fresher.

Agreed. I am really hoping defense with 1st two picks. I believe this team needs a FS and corner badly.
Definitely not it is an offensive league we need atleast one weapon for Richardson that is good enough to beat out pierce. Not sure we will find that in the third

The way I feel about it is - if the rumors about him considering retirement are true... maybe he will be OK with it and be a good mentor to the new guy in his final year and the Colts can give him a warm send off into retirement after the season. If he wants to keep playing... it will serve as motivation to show other teams that he still has it and they can give him another big contract. He doesn't strike me as a guy who will make huge problems or be malcontent of any sort. He might be disappointed, but I don't see that as a reason to not draft a guy we really like and think can be our center of the next 5-10 years...
I'm fine with drafting another center or any oline

Based on our spot in draft, our needs, and ballards liking of RAS scores I predict we get cooper dejean. I wish we would get Harrison, nabers, or bowers but dejean would be cool too.
Idk who we getting but their ras scores ore will be high

There aren't a lot of them to talk about. Of the handful of WR prospects in the sub 4.3 range, Henry Ruggs is probably the best player. He ran 4.27, and was doing well halfway through his second season, but we know how that ended.
The best overall player in that range is Champ Bailey, who ran 4.28 back in 1999, and had a great career. Second best is Chris Johnson, who ran a 4.24, and had a strong career as well. So being fast isn't a curse, nor is it disqualifying.
We already know that being fast doesn't make him a good player.
What about randy moss

I think I know who “he” is as well. I think it’s either Bowers or Nabors. Just guessing of course but what happens if that player is picked before 15. Then what? There is another course of action no one has brought up. We trade the pick to the 49er’s for Aiyuk. We have the cap space to absorb his 14m cap hit. He’s a star receiver who is one year younger than Pittman. There is no rookie learning curve to deal with. He would step in and produce immediately. Of course you’re not getting the rookie contract but the trade off is a proven veteran. Plan A is Nabors or Bowers. Plan B is Aiyuk. You still have all your remaining picks. If he wants to get explosive on offense Aiyuk would definitely do that. I wouldn’t rule it out.
Trade second for aiyuk and go cb in first

I went back to last years comments about downs post draft. It was clear that Steichen preferred a variety of receiver types on the roster and they liked downs for bringing a different type/element.
not sure they would want another small receiver.Well three big in dulin pierce and pittman. so another small cant hurt. As long as they can play

Yeah... Richardson needs players who can separate and who can get open deep. IMO "give the inaccurate QB a contested catch receiver with large catch radius" is one of the tropes that hasn't proven to work well. Contested catches have about 50-55% success rate even with the best of contested catch receivers and with relatively accurate QBs... now if you think AR's accuracy is not good, drop that rate even more. The best way to give a relatively inaccurate QB better chance to complete passes is to give him a WR who separates and and who is open so the QB would have more of a margin for error to throw the ball a little behind or ahead or a little higher or lower than ideal. (we are not talking about uncatchable balls here... those will be uncatchable for anyone really). In that regard, one thing I would agree about is - we need WRs who have good hands and have good ball skills.
And this is ignoring that AR has indeed been pretty good with his accuracy on passes at intermediate and long range. His biggest problem coming into the league was the short stuff and he was already showing improvements in that deparment before he got injured.
And Worthy is the WR who created the most separation from anybody in this draft :
The other guy Pearsall is his old teammate wouldn't be surprised if we pick him

You wonder how many NFL hits the guy can take
I think he is an extreme liability when we run the ball as well
Brian Thomas or Latu with 15th for me
He is a pretty good returner as well like t.y. Hilton 2.0 because he is faster than hilton
Colts have the 15th pick in the draft. (MERGE)

What about the offensive side. If he doesn't trade up we have to get a playmaker on one of the sides.
