    quick question does anti virus software scan everything including usb.

      Too general a question. It CAN, because it should see the USB as just another drive on the machine. Whether or not it's programmed to do so automatically is a different question. The typical default "quick scan" option likely doesn't, but you should be able to configure it to search whatever you want.
