  1. The line will not he vastly improved next season, it takes years to make a great O line and so far Grigson has yet to find any gems.

So realistically if Trent needs a great line to put up average numbers then its not gonna happen here whether he comes back next season or not.

I can't see any teams foaming at the mouth wanting to snatch up Trent, they might bring him in for a minute to see what he can do, but unless the team was hard up or insane, he would never make a 53 man roster.

There are maybe 3 teams with a line good enough for Trent to be average running behind, they aren't gonna want him.

The market for a slow, indecisive, blind, power back with no power is pretty much not there.

  2. I really think you can't blame Trent he doesn't have a line.. There's threads on here abt how bad the colts O-line is .. There's also ppl threading mocks saying the colts should draft 3 O- lineman .. Yet .. It's Trent fault for playing behind a bad line.. He's not Barry sanders .. He's 5'9 230lbs he needs a hole to get going .. The year with Donald brown he didn't know the play book and he had a nagging injury .. I can't wait for him to go to another team an crush it .. No body this year ran good behind this awful line.. Bradshaw caught the ball when he scored or he punched it in from the 1 ... Herron has a fumble a game and one big run an can't block so please .. Watch the games I watch every game.. Luck is running for his life every play I actually feel sorry for him ..

Realistically Trent should occasionally have a great run even with horrible blocking. His great runs though are usually less then 10 yards. He is slow, has no vision or improvisational skills, he just slowly plods in one direction. If he wants the hole to be somewhere then that's where he runs to, he will run past a good hole to get to where he wants a hole to be, even when nothing is there.
  3. Bradshaw is a good running back when healthy but he isn't a game changer. He was right there getting stuffed with Trent the last game he played.

A 30 year old running back isn't what's missing from being a Superbowl contender.

This team needs a lot of pieces, so Grigson needs to put down his 2012 executive of the year plaque and get to work, find the players and replace whatever coaches seem to stink.

  4. I agree with your warning and I hope you keep an eye on everybody involved. I know what I said was a bit overboard, and I started it, but there are several posters and 2 inparticular that should get warnings also. If they continue to talk then hopefully they can get banned :)

    Dude, stop.
  5. Every back will get hit behind the line sometimes, Trent does it more often then most and even when he makes it past the line he doesn't go far.

He doesn't have the speed to get outside, he doesn't have the power to pound his way up the middle, he hesitates, he doesn't have any vision, he just isn't a good running back.

He can block for Luck, and every so often he makes a catch ...... But he can't do his main job well at all.

Trent is a 3.6 ypc runner at best. That's not good enough to be a starting running back. Giving him more carries isn't gonna help because he never does anything to show that he deserves more.

Even when there are holes right where he needs them he doesn't do much with it. He isn't fast, shifty or powerful. He can block better then Boom, that's it. Is it helpful, sure, but he poses no threat to a defense when he's on the field. The defense Trent hurts when he is handed the ball is the Colts defense because it usually means their break is over and its time to go back out on the field.

  6. Trent got beat by a bust, an old man held together with duct tape and string, and a practice squad player.

He averaged 4.5 yards in the 4th last week. Sounds like he did well, until you realize he ran twice and one run was for 9 yards ...

If you need 5 yards Trent will get you 3, if you need 3 yards Trent will get you 1, and if you need 1 yard Trent will lose a few for you.

He is the "power back" who sits on the bench when you need a yard, the coaches don't trust him to get that 1 yard. He is the laughing stock of the NFL because not only is he a bust, but he still thinks he's playing good football.

  7. Last time trent had more that ten carries he averaged 5.5 ypc.. trent isnt gonna do anything with 7 8 carries a game.. same goes for boom... people hate trent so bad all they do is say bla bla blah instead of actually putting facts a football knowledge in the arguments.. they hated trent from day one and still do. Trent could have a history breaking day and people would still hate.. im sure ill get some post on this.. fire away boys fire away

Trent has already had a "history breaking day". Worst back with 500 carries in Colts history and second worst in NFL history. Worst trade in Colts History. Most excuses ever made for someone in all of recorded history. The guy makes history every time he touches the ball.
  8. I predict next year the offensive line will take another step forward in run blocking and Trent will show up at a leaner 216 with a little more burst and he will have a big year. He has all the tools. Obviously, he is not used to being hit in the backfield on every play or having a hole for 3 nano seconds.

    Really ?
  9. He only had two carries in the 4th quarter. The other one was against a stacked box in a pretty clear rushing situation, and the line got wiped out.

Of course, if the point was that Boom was the one doing the work in the 4th quarter, then I obviously agree. He was strong, and just got stronger and stronger on that last drive. And no fumbles...

Trent was averaging 2 ypc in the 4th quarter this season. Odds were against him doing much if given the the carries.
