  1. They will probably give him a weight goal and tell him that he has to meet it to play. If he shows up too big then they can always say he didn't pass the physical.

I don't see them cutting him outright, not the front office and coaching staff who handed him a starting role and refused to pull him for weeks even though he wasn't producing.

  2. It would have been reported by now if a reputable source could be found.

5 minutes after it said Trent didn't make the flight because of personal issues some insane Colt fan was on twitter saying his mom had died. She started saying it yesterday to everyone who tweeted he wasn't gonna be there.

I looked at her stuff and she wasn't anyone with any inside info, mostly she just went on crazy rants about the Colts being the greatest and attacking anyone who criticized any Colts player or staff.

People are stupid and don't seek proof on anything written on the internet. Same *s on Facebook who have to Like the post about a month having 5 Fridays and it being some Chinese money bags, seems to happen ever couple months though. Or the people who have to Like the Jesus picture because it specifically warns them that ignoring it means Satan. People are nuts and will believe and follow what the computer screen says. They wouldn't keep putting up those " you just won a free iPod " adds if fools weren't eagerly clicking them.

  3. If we're stuck with his salary (no team willing to trade), then I'm fine with keeping him around next season -- at least through camp. He wasn't good by any stretch of the imagination but he had a few decent/good games and wasn't terrible like last year.

He still has some utility in pass protection and when getting the ball in space. He'll be in a contract year next season. If that doesn't motivate him to lose significant weight and work hard in the off season then he's probably done. I'd be curious to see if he can show anything in camp if he's able to lose ~20 pounds and in a contract year. However, I don't think there's any chance of him being with the Colts after next year.

They are stuck paying him if he reports to camp no matter what, but unless he came in on fire then I would cut him a check and have him escorted from the building. His roster spot would have more value then what he brings to the table.

Best case scenario is he is so mad about being benched that he just acts a fool and quits. Then you don't have to pay him.

Maybe the Colts should have someone get in his ear and suggest such a move. Tell him that it would be better to take a season off then to be treated poorly and benched while he has been playing such great football.

  4. OK, stat boy.

Show me stats that says he's the worst runner in NFL history.

And don't just give me average per carry, we both know that's not the whole story.....

He has the second worst ypc of any back with 500 carries since the merger.

Now you could find other backs with poor stats and say this guy did this or that worse then Trent, but the fact remains that Trent has the second worst ypc.

Ypc might not matter every game, but over the course of a season it matters.

Name a running back with a low ypc who helps shift momentum in a game or who can help control the clock when needed. There aren't any.

  5. Because they're the only threads his name comes up in, right?

    :lol::funny:haha:spit:

From what I have seen the mods keep the Trent business on a short leash and I don't recall seeing anyone posting their mock draft in a random thread.

If there is a specific subject you want to discuss then you should start a thread, that's how it works on forums.

I don't really care for mock drafts myself, but others enjoy them so I just leaf through those threads.

On my own forum I don't read over half of what the members post, mods patrol their areas and handle those threads.

If you aren't opening the threads that offend you, which obviously you are because you posted in this one, but if you weren't and just the thread title was making you angry, then I suggest chanting Serenity Now like on Seinfeld.

  6. No....you're right, it doesn't.

And neither do some posters here....many of whom, at the same time, gobble up those very same "widely-regarded" pre-draft reports like baby eaglets fighting for the last worm....so they can post 90%+ inaccurate, unrealistic and ill-advised mock drafts.

But back to Richardson....hasn't there been enough media slugs playing this TRich tune over and over already without Colts fans endlessly bringing it up over and over and over?

Trent's next move is most likely out the door....with perhaps one more NFL shot somewhere else.

So for :cuss:'s sake.....how 'bout we all move on?

You don't have to click on the mock drafts or Richardson threads. Nobody will judge you if you simply skip them.
  7. I would like to see Trich used like Boom...more check down passes, Hell Boom averaged what 2.7 yards in Denver ? Yet everyone claimes that he is awesome, I say we get a real running back in the draft..yes 1 or 2, or free agent. Say what you will, but RB is not plug and play as many say on here, and why would you be ok with that? I want the best player at every position !!!

Its been plug and play with everyone but Trent. If Boom gets 2.7 ypc then Trent would average 1.3 ypc.

Boom isn't the greatest, but he isn't sitting in Indy crying over being benched either.

  8. He swore he wouldn't be inactive again and I said that to me it sounded like a thinly veiled threat.

I think that exactly what this is. Trent has been told he was special and one of the greatest since he first picked up a football. Big man on campus in high school and college, taken high in the draft, then reality came knocking and he couldn't play. I don't think he can accept the fact that its his play that kept him out of last weeks game. I think in his mind the coaches are against him.

It's all speculation on my part really, but I know guys like that. Its never their fault, someone is out to ruin them, they are the good guy. Now take that person and have people telling him he's the greatest for most of his life and I think you have Trent.

He doesn't take blame for his failures because he never failed before. Life was a cake walk. Now for the first time in his life he is failing miserably and there is no way it can be his fault, somebody is doing it to him.

Maybe if the Colts tell Trent he won't be starting next season he will get mad and just walk away.

  9. I would find it .....alarming if he isn't active and playing Sunday. He has to be better than the no-name we just signed, or at least more familiar with the playbook. I would think it dangerous to sit him, in respect to Herron getting injured. I'm fine with calling him a bust at this point, but no is not the time to take risks, and not having RB's who know their protections kinda spooks me a little.

What would be the difference from last week ? Both situations are the same really, you lose and you're done.

If they were willing to pull him last week then I don't see why they wouldn't be willing to do it again.

If it gets down to the 3rd string back, Hill or whatever his name is, then you probably have worked on a limited set of plays with him during the week so that he has some down. You aren't gonna throw the playbook at him and say learn it all by next week, but he could learn a few. Tipton and Boom should be familiar enough with the playbook so unless you lose both of them you probably aren't gonna see the 3rd string back.

I just don't like how Trent has never once said he is responsible for his own woes. Last season he didn't know the playbook and was trying to do too much ..

He needs to be honest and say he isn't living up to expectations and is gonna have to do a lot of work to change that, not make a statement that sounded like a thinly veiled threat that he won't be benched again.

  10. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/01/16/trent-richardson-vows-he-wont-be-inactive-again-though-it-may-happen-sunday/

    There's that lack of confidence.

Ever work with a guy who thinks he's great at his job, but isn't. The guy who thinks the company would fold without him ? The guy who does very little all day long, and complains about being overworked and underpaid ?

The guy who doesn't ever achieve anything but thinks that people who do must be suck ups ?

I guess guys like that are everywhere.

  11. You are one of the people that obviously doesn't know a thing about football. Football is a team sport. Coaching and offensive line played a big role w trent. Once again I'm not saying trent is great by any means but if you actually watched the Colts games you would know why he didn't have great success.

    Cuz he isn't very good.
  12. He obivously makes mistakes. He's human & this is just his 3rd yr in the league. Anyone who is put in the wrong situation is set up to fail.

He will be what, 25 next season. Second contract is where a running back makes his money if he's good. Trent will be at vet minimum if he signs with anybody and he will most likely be cut early in camp.

What makes Trent need coddling when the other backs are out there doing their thing. Guys who didn't get drafted, guys who were drafted late, guys who were shipped around from team to team and playing on the practice squad.

Trent was handed the world on a silver platter and he did nothing with it. He never earned a starting spot anywhere in the NFL. His numbers in Cleveland weren't all that, Ballard put up a better ypc average behind a worse line. Trent ran in some short touchdowns, some of which took him multiple tries to get in.

His weak running style was the same for the Browns as it is now, he stopped and danced and ran into his blockers.

He needs a coach who will dry his tears and tell him he's a good football player ?

This ain't peewee league this is the NFL. Guys cripple themselves to play this game, to try and earn a spot on a roster. Trent's feelings may have been hurt so he can't run no more ?

Well that sucks. Give him a ribbon for participation and send him home.

Poor little fella, he has no confidence. Pagano needs to sit him down before a game and read him The Little Engine That Could.
