  1. Luck was doing just fine leading that drive before the flag so no it didn't fire him up if anything it made his job harder. It was stupid because more times than not a flag like that will kill a drive. The Colts were able to pick it up thanks to a nice pass to Reggie Wayne. Credit to Allen for rebounding but no you don't want your players getting flags like that. Go ask the Raiders what leading the league in flags year after year does for you. Also I am sure the coaches were not happy with the physicality on that play that resulted in the flag. They gave away 15 yards and while they were able to pick it up this time you aren't going to keep many drives alive that have flags like that. Also it's the other way around the defender frustrated him which is exactly what the defender was trying to do and he got the reaction he was hoping to get which was the flag. The Colts were able to over come it this time but there is a reason why you don't see players react like this most of the time in the NFL it wasn't smart.

Dude did you watch the play, Allen had the upper hand blocking it was the defender that continued pushing Allen after the whistle and it was the defender that attempted to take Allen to the ground. Seconly you do realize our coaches come from the Ravens and Steelers plus the flag could have been called either way matter of fact those were the exact words of the commentators, the only reason Allen was flagged is because the defenders helmet came off and last Pagano said I want them to be physical I dont care if you make a mistake as long as your physical. I dont know about you maybe you perfer a much softer team but I love the fight in our guys at least they are willing to do what ever it take to get that W. Maybe you would perfer to see defenders push and punk our guys up and down the field I dont. Evidently you missed that part of training camp when Pagano told the media what type of team he would be putting on the field but from what I have heard out of Pagano is he loves the physicality and so do I, nothing soft or fitness about this team anymore.
  2. I saw the play wih Allen and I loved it and not only did it fire me up it fired up Allen and Luck shortly after Allen scored his first NFL TD and for those who said it was stupid and a rookie mistake get real you do your job through the whistle and because Allen had the upper hand thats what frustrated the defender. Im sure the coaching staff was very happy with the physicality of Allen on that series I know I was.

  3. Thinks for the scouting reports, but Im not interested in that or stats of YPC but you are right it is the line and I want to like Brown I just want to see him on 1st down aswell as 3rd downs up his game but its clear until we address the line I wont get my wish.......
  4. Well I have been having some deep discussions over the past few days about my feelings on Brown, Ballard and Carter, but its clear how alot of my fellow Colt fans feel on this topic so I will not mention my feelings on our backs better yet lets talk O-line. We all know the line is a huge issue this year and I do agree the line needs to be addressed before looking into any other position, but how would YOU like to see this issue solved bye the draft or free agency. Personally I'm curious to know how other Colt fans see this. I do think the O-line will get better as the season continues and everyone gets healthy. I do feel Essex was a huge pick up for us at OG, I would'nt be surprised to see him back on this roster next year. How would you like to see the Oline constructed 1.Draft or 2.FA and who do you think we should have an eye on come next year?

  5. Here are a few names of good back that are all better then Brown maybe this will help some who dont understand why I dont think Brown is NOT the answer for us come next year and this is not in order, and I'll say it now my own expectataions may just be to high for the type of back that I would love to see the Colts have on the roster.

    1. LeGarrette Blount

    2. Ahmad Bradshaw

    3.Michael Bush

    4.Reggie Bush

    5.Matt Forte

    6. Arian Foster

    7.Frank Gore

    8.Peyton Hillis

    13.Brandon Jacobs

    14.Lesean McCoy

    15.Darren McFadden

    16.Rashard Mendenhall

    17.Willis McGahee

    18.Adrian Peterson

    19.Ray Rice

    20.Trent Richardson

    21.CJ Spiller

    22.Darren Sproles

    23.Ben Tate

    24.Mike Tolbert

    25.Michael Turner

    These are NFL starters.....

  6. you expect him to make in impact averaging 8 carries a game over his career starts(42)? he has not been injured that I recall either thats been Addai but for what its worth he is averaging more ypc then Edge did in his career to this point and I think brown is one of those Backs that only gets better as he gets more carries behind a solid O Line, were obviously on two different sides of the fence on this one and thats fine but the proof is in the film and the film says inconsistent and awful blocking but I will ask ya this, do you think Chris Johnsons sub par year last year was because he is not a good Back? heck I can make a case he has had two off years in a row compared to the season he had in 2009 of 2006 yards rushing, do you think he hasn't had any great or real good years since then because he is no good?

CJ2K is a good back he had a good year in 2010 and I think last year 2011 was due to him holding out for a new contract, so far this year its been poor blocking, Johnson has speed power and vision but before you throw that comment back at me the Colts have not had this poor of a o-line for four years. With Johnson his o-line can miss a block and Johnson is still a threat to take it to the house, with brown its a diff story and unless something changes in 2012 Brown wont be our starter next year and yes a lot of the blame goes to the o-line but that wont be the case next year why do you truly think Pagano came out in the offseason and said he thinks Brown is a every down back, because thats what he really thinks no, that was a tool to try and motivate Brown....Brown was a beast in college but not in the NFL i'm not saying Brown is a bust he has good hands out of the backfield, good blocker and good speed but I just dont think he is a legitimate NFL starter.
  7. If you would have taken the time, and actually see what I quoted..I was saying that about "they'd be saying Barry Sanders would be a bust if he played behind our O-Line.(look carefully at the bold italicized and underlined comment in the quote. I said nothing bad about Brown, and have never posted anything bad about Brown. Time for you to take off the rose colored glasses, or maybe, in fact, get a stronger prescription.

And, Barry Sanders for many years had jut as bad or worse line that the Colts have right now, yet he was never considered a bust. That was what my comment was all about.

Your words: Absolutely true. Anyone who dumps on Brown doesn't know a thing about footlball. Yeah Buddy my eyes work just fine and I read everything I needed to as for your remarks. I am that guy who would dump Brown. YOU should read before writing and yes we do have o-line issues but stop looking at this as a fan of Brown and look at what Brown has down over the years heck watch some old tape or you know what thats ok you'll mess that up too but hey we know who has the bad prescription now
  8. I been watching the All-22 Coaching Film offered by NFL Rewind and it shows an over head view of each play as well as the play from behind the Offense and defense and the holes just havent been there consistently but when they have Brown and Ballard have both found them. several missed blocks, some by Essex one by Castonzo I specifically remember the play(vs the Vikings in the first quarter) called for Castonzo to pull out and he whiffed on number 52 (forget who that is and hard to tell as Im watching it as well) Donald read it perfectly fine and Castonzo was faked out to the left by #52 which caused Castonzo to whiff and fall right in front of Donald and #52 tackled him, horrible blocking and lack of discipline on Castonzos part on that play

I get what your saying but once again this is Castonzo's 2nd year and he is the only real sure thing on the line nor do I expect all pro play out of Essex being with us only a few days, but you said it Castonzo missed the block and Brown goes down all I'm saying is I would love to see a back on this team were one defender or one hit just wont do it, someone that can take that first hit and stay upright and produce that YAC yard after contact remember Brown has been on this team for 4 years, Castonzo is in year 2 and Essex hasn't been on the team a full month. As the season continues the line will get better but my question is will the running backs. What I do know is we have 4 years of tape on Brown and as a first round pick I have yet to see true consistency out of Brown or a season that justified that first round pick if anyone on here remembers that season please tell me I'll wait!!!

  9. um...no...

Look I have been having this talk on this topic for a while now and the truth is, yes we have issues on the O-line but we have not had these issues for the past 4 years, sense 2009 please anyone what has Brown done....I'll wait..... Last year really was the first year Brown didnt have injury issues. Brown is a good blocker and is good in space as a speed back. But is not that 3rd down move the chains back. Oh and Berry Sanders for a few of those years didnt have all that good of a line either surprise surprise. Only someone who doesn't know much about football would make that comment. Time to change the milk
  10. This is the injury report for week 3, against jacksonville jaguars:

Winston Justice T: Full Participation in Practice, Probable

Austin Collie WR: Full Participation in Practice, Probable

Mike McGlynn G: Limited Participation in Practice, Questionable

Joe Reitz G: Did Not Participate In Practice, Out

Cory Redding DE: Did Not Participate In Practice, Questionable

Pat Angerer LB: Did Not Participate In Practice, Out

Dwight Freeney LB: Full Participation in Practice, Questionable

Samson Satele C: Limited Participation in Practice, Questionable

Im worried that Satele and McGlynn are questionable for the game, also is exciting that freeney had full participation in the practive and once again redding injured? He is very valuable on our defense!!

    This is the link: http://www.nfl.com/injuries?team=IND

I have checked everywhere even the link above that you listed Freeney is listed as did not participate and I saw were Freeney is not expected to return until Green Bay along with Angerer and Reites
  11. and you might actually have a point once we get a O Line that can run block consistently until then using your logic we should get rid of Ballard to because his ypc and total yards is worse then Browns, we have been over this several times now

True but Ballard is a rookie only two games in but his ypc are low, heck in that case lets let Carter go to...
  12. yes a lot of it has to do with the O-line but with that said, understand the type of back Brown is which is a speed not power back it doesn't take much to get brown on the ground. I do feel we need to fix the O-line first but the RBs need a change up aswell. I've had a close eye on Brown sinse 09, a time when our O-line wasn't as bad then compared to were it is now and I see the same out of Brown. Brown is a change of pace back but not a move the chains on 3rd down back an thats what we need. First things first lets get through 2012 and at the end of the season take a good hard look at our needs, I'm sure we could use a OT, OG for the line but if the running game looks the same throughout the season as it has these past two games I could easly see us upgrading the running game aswell only time will tell but if I had to guess I would say the coaches have already taken a good look at this and that is why Pagano came out before training camp saying brown is a every down back

  13. What do you do with him? Are yall joking? You let him do what we are paying him to do. PLAY. I think its so funny how fast this fan base can go from loving you to turning on you, that why they think their true fans for the support. Watch when Freeney comes back and looks great in this new 3-4 system everyone will jump back on his ban wagon. When we get Freeney,Angerer,Chapman and hopfully move Baptiste up to the active roster this defense will like very good real good I'd say week 6 or 7

  14. Freeney should only play on passing situations of 8 yards or longer since he is still a free 5 yards or so running his way.

IMO Irsay kept him to appease the fans, not as a wise on field decision. Sound business. We need a few years anyway.

2 games in and I see good things. Year two could be very solid, year 3... grrrrr!

Is that what Irsay told you we are going to pay Freeney close to 20 million to keep fans happy yeah right lol what else did he say...
  15. He's not arguably our best def player. Not even close.

He's had one good year on a 2-14 team, and it wasn't even that good. He is coming off an injury and has yet to play in this system. All signs point to Freeman keeping the job.

Dude be real Angerer is the third best defender on the team behind Freeney and Mathis and he had more then one good game heck he lead the NFL for most of last year in tackles and I think he ended the season 4th or 5th in tackles and thats being out for a game. To me Freeman looks better then Conner, Conner's down side to me is he takes bad angles at time, but hands down there isn't a ILB on this team better than Pat Angerer....
  16. Read the whole thread I'm talking about why we need to move on from Brown next year cant move the chains on 3rd down, the tape on Brown that I'm talking about to me suggest that Brown is not a vary consistent back who cant get u those tough yards but as I said earlier I hope I'm wrong and Brown proves other wise

  17. go back and look how many time the Colts ran the ball on 3rd down (1 time if I remember right by Ballard) the rest were throws

Ok you might be right on the 3rd downs but this is Browns 4th year in the NFL I think we all know what he can do on 3rd down but hey its early in the season and I hope I'm wrong but I would'nt be surprized by the end of the season if a lot of fans see what Im talking about. I mean we have 4 years of tape on Brown...
  18. They need to take a long look at Chad Johnson. If you think about it, who do we have as a deep threat. Who do we have that could run up and down the field making 40 -45 catches. I was told in another room that Reggie is no longer a deep receiver. So, if the teams start doubling Reggie, playing their best DB on Collie, Who do we have as a REAL threat in the recieving core.

Chad has legal issues right know and could face up to one year in jail not the direction we want to go right now but without the distractions and legal issues Chad could help us and give Luck another target.
  19. AAAH Our team wasn't rebuilding then & All these guys that Grigson brought in are GOOD RIGHT. Just becuase he makes moves doesn't make then GOOD MOVES. Pollian take was we got them they have some tallent we will coach them up!

At least Grigson is putting in the work to make this team as strong as possible, Pollian was so caught up in doing thing the way they were done 20 years ago and thats what handicapped this team in the Peyton era. We as fans couldn't tell because of how good Peyton was but we should have been in more than two SB. I mean his idea to not go after another teams so called problems in free agency I could'nt be happier that he is gone understand Grigson played a huge poll in putting together the Eagles in which when they are on the same page is a very good football team.
  20. and janoris jenkins is biting us in the behinds right now. 6 tackles 1 pass deflected and a INT against detroit in week 1. what did vontae davis do that we gave up a second round pick for? and according jeff fisher Jenkins has turned his act around and is focused on football. yeah we got fleener in the second round, but the colts were already in line to draft Allan also. so getting jenkins wouldnt have hurt.

Give me a break, Davis had been on the team for a week an we are already asking what did he do in week one when Jenkins has been with his team throughout OTAs an such come on know we know what Davis can do, we have no clue what Jenkins can do off of one game in the NFL get real.
  21. running backs dont break a big run every time they get the ball, Adrian Peterson had several 2, 3, -4 runs game vs the Jags

That is very true but AP had 80 yards and 2 TDs an a number of 3rd down conersions and thats not at 100% but its funny to me I feel like I'm the only one who has had an eye on Brown the past 4 years cause I don"t see what so many other fans see or maybe everyone is just being positive from a fans standpoint but hey thats just me...
  22. I said and here we are, you can come up with any stat you want, and you can look back at any few snaps you want but I'm talking about consistency not a few plays out of a game. Lets be honest, he can't move the chains on 3rd and short. I've watched him sense 09 an you can't make me for one second believe that brown is a legitimate starter he may be the best we have on the roster but he is not a powerful back that can consistently move the chains he is a back that has maybe 4 to 5 positive plays a game.

  23. Again you don't draft a QB first overall, draft four passing weapons, then re-sign Wayne and sign another WR and be a running team. They will want to run the ball more than they did on Sunday and like I said stride closer to balance than they have been in recent memories but they are still going to be a pass first team. I am guessing balance to them would be closer to 60/40.

Also they will run the ball if it's effective against the Vikings. If it's not they will go away from it. Right now I am not sure if the o-line is good enough to be effective against anyone to let us run the ball as much as I am sure the Colts would like.

I dont think anyone is saying the the colts are a running team or a passing team key word is balanced especially with a young QB and no matter what we did in the offseason or draft, it doesn't make us a pass heavy team those were areas of need. We do have a lot of passing weapons but without that word "balance" we become one dimensional which is a recipe for injuries with a first year QBs. Right know im not sure the O-line can keep Luck up off the ground if we become one dimensional. Running game and Passing game work hand an hand no one said this was a running team we are just stressing the importance of the running game.. Especially with a young QB
