  1. Would you please translate this into football English? He got fried? It doesn’t even make sense if you meant to write fired. Im not happy with Ballard’s decision and I still don’t understand whatever point you were trying to make? In short…. Huh?
  2. As best as I can tell, this tweet comes from a fan with a Twitter account. He has no sources except what is out there from other media. He’s just a guy. All I’m saying is don’t read too much into this. At least, not yet.
  3. The pick wasn’t the problem. His salary of $16 mill per was one and coming off major knee surgery was the other. I love Woods…. But still….
  4. I get it. You don’t like Ballard. I get it, you don’t like me as I defend Ballard. Enjoy being a fan though you rarely seem happy with anything. Good luck with that.
  5. Not that you’d notice, but there are still lots of players available. Not that you’d notice, but very few players signed with anyone today. It was a very quiet day in free agency today. But, by all means, carry on…. Keep complaining over nonsense and making it seem like the sky is falling.
  6. He wouldn’t take LTs last year becayse they were short arms…. Less than 34+ inches. And now you’re wondering about Braden and his 32 1/2 inch arms.
  7. I think we are well past the accusation stage. I don’t think Watson denies that the women touched him. The issue is was this consensual or were the women coerced? It’s been reported that Watson offered the women $100,000 each. 18 agreed, but 4 wanted it to go to trial. So there was no deal. How the grand jury outcome impacts the outcome is not known.
  8. Most big free agent contracts don’t play out for the life of the deal. The player gets cut before the contract is finished. That happens more times than not.
  9. My sincere apologies. Did not mean to misquote you. My bad. As to Ballard, we may have already fixed our DE situation. That was the whole Paye and Dayo thing. And I expect more from Granson. And I expect more from Strachan and Fries. And others whose time has come. Where we struck out was with Wentz and a Fisher. Those are unfortunate. Very. I thought they were the right moves at the time. Football can be hard and unfair and we got screwed twice. Could they ultimately cost CB and Frank their jobs? Possibly. Eventually. Who knows how patient and understanding Irsay will be? Anyone’s guess. Im not posting on my vacation to be a jerk. I’m posting to urge people to calm down, Let’s see what Ballard actually does and doesn’t do before we pronounce him guilty. One day is meaningless, Again.., Sorry about the misquote. Glad you nailed me. And you keep doing that if I do it again. Honestly.
  10. Not me. I’d be shark bait! And I don’t lay by a pool drinking funny beverages with little umbrella’s. I’d burn to a crisp! When my wife and I come here it’s to go out on the water and see the whales up close! It’s peak whale season now. Yesterday was Day 1 and it was AWESOME! We go out every day, can’t get enough. Then we wander around going in and out of shops and restaurants and relax. Maui is a great place to decompress! When I’m posting, my wife is typically sleeping or relaxing. We’re good. You don’t have to like me or agree with me, but I hope some day you and your significant other will come to Maui. Don’t come in the summer, too hot, too crowded, too expensive. Come in the winter, right after the Super Bowl. Get out of the cold and come to Maui and just relax…. You’ll thank me. Honestly.
  11. I never said Ballard follows Spotrac. I mentioned Spotrac to show what people who analyze contract value think of MAC. Many here don’t seem to like him. And by the way, not to defend them, but I think in balance, Spotrac does a nice job with contract projections. But they didn’t project Kirk at $18-21 mill per year. That’s insane money. But I don’t think Ballard follows Spotrac at all. Because he either doesn’t sign guys they like, or he doesn’t agree with the valuations. I think you and others are getting way too bent, way too soon. He can still do plenty in the next few weeks to help this team. But patience would be helpful.
  12. Your concern for me is touching. But you should go back to posting your outrage over what Ballard isn’t doing. Those are so important. It’s why I’m awake! I can’t wait to read your next genius insight!
  13. “This team has the same problems as last year….” So says the guy that hasn’t noticed that free agency has only just started and the draft is roughly 6 weeks away. Dear God…..
  14. “Stubbornness and arrogance.” From one of the most stubborn and arrogant posters here. I love when that happens!
  15. Im pretty sure the calendar says March 15 and not April 15. I love posts that talk about our wrong or bad approach after one day of free agency. One. ONE!! I looked over on NFL.com and the Colts are one of 8 teams that pretty much sat out the first day of free agency. We are not alone. It’s not like Chris Ballard is doing one thing and the other 31 teams are doing something else. There will be plenty of time to complain in the days and weeks to come. But after one day? Really? Come on…..
  16. The Pats missed nearly 8-10 good players who sat out in 2020 due to Covid who came back and played in 21. That accounts for part of the jump. They also spent unusually heavy in free agency in 21. That accounts for another jump. And they hit big with their rookie quarterback and got far more performance than anyone expected for Mac Jones. Those three things account for the Pats big improvement in one season. But bad to good in one season is a bit of an allusion. They were good and had a one year fall off. The Bengals have sucked for years and got good due to Burrow and Chase. Also they got hot at the end and it happed as the rest of the AFC North, Pitts, Balt, and Cleve, who were all favored ahead of Cincy to start the year, all had very disappointing seasons at the same time. Good luck played a large part in the Bengals success. For what it may be worth, I’ve already seen a story predicting that Cincy could easily fall back among the pack. They’re viewed by some as a one hit wonder until they prove themselves again
  17. Technically, today is the first of two days of legal cheating. You can talk and negotiate, but not sign actual contracts. Just announce deals. The actual free agent signings don’t happen until Wednesday. That’s the actual official start of free agency. These first two days are sort of unofficial. But in our little community, the complaining always starts on Monday of FA week.
  18. Well…. You wrote. And I don’t know that I’m disagreeing with you. But if Irsay is on board, then I’m good and don’t care about silly fan reactions. Good luck with that!
  19. Wowza…. I had no idea. Just wow. I’ll try to remember this for future reference. Holy cow. Sad.
  20. Nobody who understands football counts 2017 against Ballard. Certainly Irsay doesn’t. That year was as much on Grigson as anyone else. So Ballard has made the playoffs two years out of four.
  21. There’s a difference between the first WEEK and the first DAY. See if you can figure it out? People who are commenting after the first DAY haven’t figured it out. Now, it’s possible a week from now, those who are complaining will have more to complain about. But that’ll happen in 6 more days. The math really isn’t all that hard.
  22. One. Day. In. One. Keep saying it over and over. Im not saying Ballard is going to spend a fortune. I’m just saying one day in is a silly rush to judgement.
  23. I just love fans who comment after one day of an event that lasts more than a month. This is like commenting after the first mile of a marathon. Big deal. It means nothing.
