Rhodes is more athletic.I love Trufant as a prospect, think he has great man coverage skills, can press and jam receivers at the line, has fantastic closing speed to make plays, shows competitiveness - isn't a ballhawk but he's definitely a better athlete than Rhodes is. As for the most experts thing, who is saying that it isn't even close?!

They own our fifth still.Right.... agreed....
But the problem is the 49ers don't own pick 82.
They own 74 (too high) and 93 (too low).... so, if we take 93, we'd need something else to make the points right...
We'd need a 5, which has been noted that the 49ers traded their #5 today. So, either they'd have to come up with other picks to make it work out.... don't know what the formula would be.... but, that's not important right now...

Top 5 needs in order: WR, RG, OLB, CB, DE
1st round player: Jonathan Cooper ideally, but more realistically, Deandre Hopkins, Xavier Rhodes, or Damontre Moore
Late Sleepers:
3rd: Aaron Dobson, Barrett Jones, or Brandon Jenkins
4th: Sean Porter, Trevardo Williams, or John Bostic
6th: Ray Ray Armstrong, Will Davis, or Aaron Mellette
7th: Quanterius Smith, Ray Grahm, or Jordan Kovaks

Mingo, by far if he's still available.I'm doing my latest mock draft, and I don't know what it is, but I can't figure out who we should take. Here is the mock up to this point:
1. KC- Luke Joeckel
2. Jags- Dion Jordan
3. Raiders- Shariff Floyd
4. Philly- Geno Smith
5. Lions- Eric Fisher
6. Browns- Dee Millner
7. Cards- Lane Johnson
8. Bills- Cordarelle Patterson
9. Jets- Ezekiel Ansah
10. Titans- Kenny Vacarro
11. Chargers- Chance Warmack
12. Miami- Xavier Rhodes
13. Tampa- Star Lotulelei
14. Carolina- Sheldon Richardson
15. Saints- Jarvis Jones
16. St. Louis- Johnathon Cooper
17. Pitt- Alec Ogletree
18. Dallas- DJ Fluker
19. Giants- Damontre Moore
20. Chicago- Arthur Brown
21. Cincy- Bjoern Werner
22. Rams- Keenan Allen
23. Vikings- Tavon Austin
24. Colts-
In this mock I have Barkevious Mingo falling who I'm seriously considering slotting to us (I do think most people overrate him but might be good at #24), if you're looking WR, then Deandre Hopkins and Justin Hunter are still available. For D-line depth and help, there's Sylvester Williams, Johnathon Hankins (really not sure about this dude), Jesse Williams, and John Jenkins. And lastly, Desmond Trufant is still there for our secondary, as he could probably be our nickel, but I think we have more pressing needs at the moment.
So tell me who you think we should get, I'm totally unsure on this one.

What time is the third tomorrow?
-
I have to say that the Seattle pick and second San Fran picks are just genius.
-
What about round three?
-
49ers select WR Aaron Dobson, Marshall
-
With the 56th pick, the Seahawks select DT Brandon Williams, Missouri Southern
-
cardinals, but it can stand.Wait, scratch your Jets pick?
-
its okay, that pick can stand.^^^^^^
You can scratch my pick then.
-
I can do some.
-
Lester will be a 5-6th round pick at best. He was abused in the Senior Bowlmpractices.
-
We just went defense heavy in FA and the guys I had us getting in the 4th, 5th, and 6th could all potentially start for us.I agree. Especially after we went all-offense with our last draft, we need to go defense-heavy this time around, maybe drafting one or two O-lineman.
-
I was deciding between Kyle, not gonna say his last name, and Theo Reddick.Love it except I don't think we need a fb id rather take a kicker there and maybe a speedster rb In the 7th also but I love the first three picks
-
In this scenario, we should trade with the Cardinals for their 2nd, 3rd, and 5th.
2. OG Larry Warford: Warford is a huge man! He hasn't missed a game in three years, which is a very good thing the us due to our O-line's history of injuries. He played in the SEC against their many dominate lineman and dominated many of them. He would be a great addition to our team and would make us one piece closer to a finalized offensive line.
3a. WR Da'Rick Rogers: Rogers is the big, strong target we've been waiting on. He has first round talent, but he has had some off the field issues in the past that he seems to have moved on from. He proved at Tennessee that he can play, and even dominate against top tier schools. He is a beast after the catch because of his ability to drag players with him. He could work on his route running, but playing with Reggie will certainly help.
3b. C Barrett Jones: Jones is simply a player you want to represent your team. He is one of the most high character and smart players in this draft. He has very good technique and can read blitzes better than anyone. His leadership at the position is unparalleled in the draft. I see Luck and Jones forming a Manning and Saturday-like bond as they play with each other.
4. OLB Trevardo Williams: Williams is a beast. He is a freak athletically as evidenced by his 30 bench press reps, 4.57 40 time and 38 inch vertical. He also, your gonna love this Gavin, has plenty of production to go along with those numbers. In 30 career starts, he has 133 tackles, 40.5 TFLs, 30.5 sacks, and 5 FFs.
5. ILB John Bostic: Bostic is a hitter. He loves to get in the hole and take care of the fullback. He is very quick and fast, shown by his 4.61 40 time, his 4.24 20 yard shuttle, and his 6.99 3 cone drill. He uses this speed and quickness to put force into his hits. I would love to see him and Freeman manning the middle for the Luck Era.
6. SS Ray Ray Armstrong: Armstrong is a very hard hitter, who has amazing talent, but has fallen off the radar due to off the field issues. I would love to get him, due to him being so talented. He has great size for the position and good speed. He has the potential to maybe start for us one day.
7a. DE Jared Smith: Smith is a player who is always working to get to the QB. He continually goes and
gets off the snap fast. I would bring him in as a project.
7b. FB Kyle Jusczyk: Kyle would probably be an immediate starter, but falls due to positional value. He is a great receiver when needed and would allow us to put Allen at TE more often.
Hope you guys like it.

Willis ran a 4.37.Actually he is the same size as Patrick Willis. Willis is 6'1 240lbs, Brown is 6'0 241lbs. Willis ran a 4.51 and 22reps. Brown has been clocked at 4.56 and 21 reps. Along with the impressive tape of Brown he fits any scheme. Wouldn't be against this pick at all. Pair him with Freeman with the uncertainty of Angerer's foot that slowed him down very noticeably last year
"Brown answered the most important question early on, proving the health of his shoulder by lifting the bar 21 times during the bench press drill. Later, the 6-0, 241-pound linebacker answered any concerns about his straight-line speed, timing between 4.56-4.66 seconds in the 40-yard dash, according to multiple sources in Manhattan. "I honestly don't know what my time was," Brown said. "They didn't tell me that but I felt good and I am confident that the scouts and coaches who were there watching us got a fair evaluation of what I can do."
There were representatives of 24 teams at Kansas State's Pro Day and Brown said among them were linebacker coaches for the Detroit Lions, Jacksonville Jaguars and Pittsburgh Steelers. As a further indication of the interest teams have in the back to back All-Big 12 linebacker, he has six private workouts and three visits lined up already. - Rob Rang, NFLDraftScout.comhttp://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/players/1619684

If he was younger, I would easily take him. But he's not, so no thanks.
-
Or if the Jets offered their first next year, this years third and fifth for our first this year.
-
I mainly thought of it because of the chance of Clowney.Well, first, I wouldn't do it.
Two, if I did it, you wouldn't have to entice a team by adding a #4. If anything, they'd give us the #4. We're giving up the immediate #1 for a future #1.
Three, if I did it, I certainly would NOT do it with the Ravens. That's a franchise that knows how to compete and to win. Plus the have a very good QB and an excellent coach.
The Jets and the Eagles would be targets because they both have (A) serious QB issues, and (B) serious coaching issues.
But, all in all, I would not do it.
No pick until the bottom of the 3rd round this year, roughly 85th overall? Seriously? No. You're signaling to your team and to your fans that you're not serious about 2013. That you're more concerned with 2014. You can't do that if you're the Colts.
You could more easily do it if you had recently won the Super Bowl. The fans have been rewarded. But to do it now?
It would be a disaster on every level imaginable. I appreciate the outside the box thinking here, but no.
-
A team like the Ravens, Jets, or Eagles 2014 first, would you do it? i would. I would even throw in next years 4th to get it done. I believe the Ravens would be most likely to do it and I think it would be a high pick.

Trade 1st to San Francisco for their early 2nd, late 3rd, and late 4th.
2. DE Datone Jones: Jones has good intangibles, is very quick and has active hands. He had great production at the 5-tech spot with 62 tackles, 19 TFL's and 6.5 sacks. He is a leader and puts a lot of time into the weight room and studying tape. I would love for him to be a part of the organization to become a replacement for Redding and maybe develop into a Justin Smith type player.
