  1. I didn't see anyone pointing fingers last season when Manning was putting up huge numbers when having big leads?

When was Manning putting up huge numbers with big leads? That didn't come close to happening.  Heck, he didn't even play the whole second half of the last game because they were up 28-0.  He didn't play the 4th quarter in the eagles game.  There was no game where he had a huge lead late and was still passing.  Even in the Baltimore game, Peyton threw a screen pass in the 4th quarter to try and just get a first down.  Turns it, since it was well execute and well timed, it went for a TD. There was no running up the score by the Broncos last year.

  2. This is a significant outcome for Denver, San Diego and Cincinnatti.

Nobody wants to go to New Englahd in january

I'm starting to doubt if they'll even make the playoffs. If they didn't play in the worst division in football, they'd be a sub five hundred team easily.

  3. Brady sucks when you take away his weapons haha hasn't done sh%t since he lost moss

Nah, when he had Welker, Edelman, Woodhead, Gronk, and Hernandez (all great weapons) he played well.  Now he's only got two of them.  At least all this talk about how Brady can do what Manning did (make a poor o-line look solid, take no-name receivers and make them look like pro-bowlers aka the Blair White project) is finally over.

  4. Why are Saints still celebrating? They're down by 28 points...

Because Brees will get a chance to throw a TD now...they were worried they would have to keep Brees throwing till less than a minute left in the game in order to get it.

  5. It's only qbs in consideration because no other player has separated himself so far. Julio Jones is having the best year at WR so far, but I don't think he's made a real case for MVP yet. No RB deserves mention so far. On defense, has anyone really stood out far and beyond their respective peers? I don't personally think so. Therefore, we're left with QBs.

  6. Seriously Gruden... shut up. When Geno jumps to throw the ball and gets intercepted it's a horrible pass, horrible decision. (Pass was accurate tho, just got out jumped)

But when cutler does it and Jeffreys jumps to get it, it's a clutch and excellent throw by cutler.

Geno threw it when there was a guy who could jump in front of his WR. Cutler threw it when the DB was trailing and behind Jeffrey. No way could that DB have gotten an interception, Jeffrey's big body blocked him out.  Cutler made quite a few bad throws, but that was not one of them.  Gruden was right on the money with his call.

  7. Jets have little chance......

Their only hope is that the Bears drop a LOT of passes

Jets have to blitz Cutler on all pass downs...they have no quality DBs

I just may get to see Peyton break Favre's record that day :) He could go for 0 touchdowns against Arizona and still throw 10 vs the Jets.

  8. Great game tonight, we'll have more insight on which team is a contender and which is a pretender.  I'd lean towards Chicago because they have WRs that should make those DBs on the Jets look silly.  But Cutler is always good for stinking up the place every now and then, and Rex is the master of defensive scheming with limited personnel.

  9. You probably think he just mooned her. Today, what Manning did would be characterized as sexual assault. I don't agree that it IS sexual assault. But today, that's what you would have.

Our society is much less forgiving today. 40 or 50 years ago, you got caught doing something stupid and the cops turned you over to your father. Today, everything ends up a federal case. That's one reason why nobody really apologizes anymore. It's a big mistake to admit guilt.

Peyton's only said he had mooned her so yes, I'm taking his word over hers, considering she doesn't have the highest credibility. Peyton's story also makes a lot more sense (that he was mooning another athlete) than hers does. Add to the fact that it never went to criminal court, I highly doubt anything of an assault-nature took place. Seems to me she's been trying to cash in on this "incident" since it initially happened.

And there's no comparison between Peyton and Winston. Peyton's had one incident, Winston has a whole pattern of them.

  10. Why would Peyton throw deep? Does no one realize Rivers attempted only one pass over 20 yards, the td to Gates, all game long? Dinking and dunking is how you beat Seattle. But 1 or 2 deep throws during the game is okay, because I do agree it might make the CBs back up. And for those doubting Peyton's deep ball...that's just flat out silly. He's had the best deep ball over the last 18 regular season games and the stats back it up.

  11. That would be pretty cool if you get the chance to be there when he breaks the record.

However, I hope he breaks it on Sunday.

I could live with him breaking it this Sunday and only this Sunday (besides the Jets game obviously) because that would mean... :D

  12. Peyton needs 3 to get to 500 at Seattle..

....and he averages 3 a game

all-time NFL TD passes (after 2 weeks of 2014)

    1. Brett Favre (retired) 508

    2. Peyton Manning - 497

    3. Dan Marino (retired) 420

    4. Drew Brees - 366

    5. Tom Brady - 361

I'm going to the jets game.  I would love to see Peyton tie and break the record that day.  But I realize it's a long shot.  He needs 12 more TDs to break, so that's an average of 4 a game.  I'm thinking his best bet is 5 TDs against the jets, and 7 between the Cardinals and Seahawks.  Whenever Peyton retires, I think his total TD count at that point will remain the best ever for a long, long time.  Only guy who could possibly break it is Brees.  If Brees doesn't, I don't know if any QB currently in the league will come close to breaking it.
