  1. Terrible. Very disappointing. Off-point and slanted. Contained very little footage from games where they actually played against each other.

"Driven by each other". No, they aren't. That's stupid and both of them would agree.

Skipped over the watershed moments that brought them to where they are now. In the case of Brady, the vicious hit on Bledsoe. In the case of Manning, the vicious (illegal) hit he took from a Washington defender many years ago (2009?) that caused his injury, which in turn, led him to Denver. Strangely, the vid had a segment titled "Driven By Danger"......but it ignored the hit that injured Peyton's neck and the horrible season ending hit that took Brady out. Talk about an oversight.

The dramatic music didn't pair with the appropriate footage to warrant such a boisterous soundtrack.

Seemed slanted toward Peyton, mentioning all his milestones, while ignoring the numerous milestones and accomplishments by Tom. The vid seemed more dedicated to honoring Peyton's TD record than anything else.

If someone intended this to glance at their respective eclectic skill sets and overarching careers, they missed the mark by a mile. You couldn't pay me to watch that crap again.

Why so critical?  It was meant to be a promo to get you excited for the next Brady-Manning classic.  It wasn't supposed to be a documentary on both of their careers...

And you realize that the person who made it can only use the footage available right?  He (or she) isn't going to have every milestone TD for Brady, but since Peyton just broke the record, they've been showing all his milestone ones non-stop.  It was equal footage of Peyton and Brady, and it even showed each of them getting intercepted once by the opposing team.

Great video imo, and I appreciate the effort the creator took to make it.

  2. I think he did by qualifying it as "best I've coached against."

LOL, I'm kidding... Bill would snort, smack his lips, and give an answer that loosely translates to, "get lost and stop bothering me with this unimportant crap."

He's said this before about Manning. And Manning reciprocated. It's a virtual lovefest!

It's interesting because by saying best he's ever coach against, implies that he thinks Peyton is better than Marino and Montana since BB coached against them. And yes, I doubt we would get BB to answer who's better between Brady and Peyton. Plus, I don't think BB would have it in him to hurt Tom's feelings by admitting Peyton was the best :P

  3. Anytime a team even thinks of benching their 1st round pick, it's a problem.

Whether they do it or not, that thought should never come into their heads unless you're resting your starters.

And since that thought of "benching," Tannehill has performed very well.  7 Td, 4 Ints, 68%, and 3 wins.  And outside Wallace, Tannehill doesn't have any real weapons.  The term "bust" is reserved for guys like Geno and EJ imo.

  4. That top ten of the 2012 draft isn't doing all that well outside of Luck and Kueckly.

    Andrew Luck(good)

    RGIII(hurt)

    TRich(traded to Colts)

    Matt Khalil(struggling)

    Justin Blackmon(suspended)

    Morris Claiborne(lost starting job)

    Mark Barron(traded)

Ryan Tannehill(average but I like him)

    Luke Kuechly(good)

Stephon Gilmore(I don't know how he is doing, think he is doing ok)

I think that top ten is solid. It's not great, but it's not awful like the top 10 from 2013 class. 2011 top 10 outside of the QBs was just awesome.
  5. Just rewatched their game from last year in the playoffs.  Brady had all day to throw and their offense still did nothing till garbage time.  I thought Brady had to be under pressure for most of the game since they didn't score much, but that o-line manhandled the Broncos D-line.  I would think the Broncos will get significantly more pressure on Brady this time around. The coverage guys have improved across the board for the Broncos too.  It will all come down to Gronk imo.  If Marshall/Irving/Ward can do a good job on Gronk, Pats lose by at least 10.  If Gronk is allowed to roam free, it will be a tight game.

  6. There is a misconception that Manning can't play in snow which is incorrect. The reputation came from the playoff games in NE but those losses were due to NE defense getting him off the spot (to the left where he's vunerable) and disrupting the timing plays which was all he could do back then.

Seem to me looking at him late it's just not all timing passes.

    Best post in this thread.

  7. I only looked at interceptions, which is typically what I do. Fumbles, especially recoveries, are often a matter of luck. But fair enough. I still assumed that they had more total turnovers than that.

As an offense, I think losing fumbles and then recovering them is luck. But if you look at certain teams, like the Pats, they are consistently great at recovering fumbles on defense. The bears use to excell at it too. I think coaching plays a big role there.

  8. How many teams can you name that have a great offense or a great defense individually? A "great" anything is hard to attain. And that's not what your original post asked. You said to choose between giving the QB weapons, or building a very good defense. Not a great offense or a great defense.

And if we're talking about a balanced team, then why doesn't Denver qualify? Because you don't want them to? They don't give up a lot of points, they force turnovers, they get sacks, they stop the run, they get off the field on third down, and they aren't heavily penalized.

Broncos defense only has 8 turnovers which is tied for 24th in the league. Agree with everything else you said and have been saying.
  9. They have a lot of first round draft choices in the line

..but they couldn't block a haystack Monday...on pass plays..

Dallas has one win over a winning team all season.

The blocking was fine. The Redskins sent more blitzers than there were Cowboy blockers. That's on Romo and coaching.

  10. watkins is as good as advertised coming out of clemson and benjamin made some unbelievable catches on the legion of boom. could they arrive aj and julio

I thought both were overrated. Both have proven me wrong. They are going to be stars in this league. A ton of young stud WRs right now: Dez, DT, Julio, Green, Jeffrey, Floyd, Hilton, Cobb, Maclin (he's been terrific this year), Cooks, Brown (on Arizona), Watkins, and Benjamin.

  11. This ain't no revelation or anything but Manning will get it again. He's by far the most consistent player in the league. The other candidates are having great years, but more than likely they won't consistently be at the top of the discussion.

I will say what Murray and Luck have done this far is amazing. Luck Has emerged and so far he's had a very consistent year.

Yes, Luck is good every single game for 3 TDs, a pick, 300 yards, a nice scramble, and a hit he shouldn't take. Remarkably consistent (except for the eagles game where I thought he was just awful despite the 3 TDs).

  12. I think Murray will stake his claim and forge ahead, I feel.

It's weird because if Foster wasn't injured for that one game, he'd be right in that conversation. I honestly think Foster has been more impressive, especially when you consider the qb he's working with. While his o-line is good, Murray's is unbelievable, and Foster does so much more damage than Murray in the passing game.

  13. Uh he almost single handidly kept them in the game last week and he basically put the team on his back in the OT to beat Denver. The guy has been clutch...and was good yesterday except for a pass bouncing off rock handed Lynch. Trust me...he isn't the top guy but he is quickly moving up the list and will be a dark horse consideration for a lot if he continues to win games....that offense has no weapons....lynch is no where near the back he once was...he grinds out yards but is turning into a slightly younger version of Stephen Jackson. That team rallies around him and he is LEADING them. You don't have to throw for 400yds to be a most valuable player....and Tom is doing the exact same thing. Perhaps he had a couple bad weeks early on but he has that team playing great...and now that the OL is coming together and he is getting on track with Gronk and Lafell...watch out. He will have his 4000 yds and probably 40tds...and again be 13-3 or so and probably the #1 seed.

And kyle Orton's been "clutch" too and so has Stafford. Clutch is a way overused word imo. Wilson did nothing at the end of the chargers and cowboy games when he could have tied it. Every qb will win some games at the end and lose others. I don't think that alone makes you an MVP. Wilson has weapons, they're underrated. Miller is a good tight end, and Baldwin and Lockette at the least are average WRs who are both capable of making the spectacular play. It's not all about yards but when you can get away with just throwing 200 yards each week and still win, that is proof you have a very good team around you that isn't putting all the pressure on you. Only reason Wilson was in a position to win was because his defense only gave up 9 points. I'm sorry, but every good qb could win a game when their defense just gives up single digit points, especially when they are facing a below average defense.

I'm just not understanding how Wilson is in the MVP conversation when guys like Orton and Stafford aren't.

  14. And then there were two. Peyton and Murray are the clear front-runners at this point. Murray has a chance to make his claim tomorrow. He has the edge because of "Peyton-fatigue" but he can't afford to slow down at all. Cowboys will need to keep on winning.

  15. Russell Wilson continues to be one of the most clutch qbs in football. Reminds me of a mixture of Tom Brady and Drew Brees. He is my dark horse candidate for MVP.

Wilson was garbage for the first 57 minutes of the game. He played well on the last drive, but that doesn't mean he earned MVP consideration for 3 minutes of good football. I don't see him anywhere on the ballot.

Agree Brady has moved up on it, somewhere in that 6-8 range with romo and rivers. Peyton and Rodgers and Murray are still in the top 3 with Luck and Watt not far behind at the 4-5 range.
