  1. Irsay has the last say so I'm going to guess whatever is considered an extremely conservative comeback will be used.

My reasoning for this, Bert Jones' career was derailed by a shoulder injury. Jim will wait until Luck is cleared and has had more then enough training and throwing without setbacks.

I can easily see him missing upto half the season just to be super safe. If he misses more then his injury was definitely on the more serious side.

I'm having a hard time believing a couple of games if he hasn't even practiced yet.

I am not buying this OL lineup. Makes no sense to make drastic changes now. I will believe it when I see it.

And sadly I think we will.

C'mon Chuck, at least give us a few weeks before we pop our tops on your questionable moves.

@Jdubu, hey I get it. I could easily let myself slide in your direction of thought, then I remember all of those lean years of Count On Losing This Sunday! It can, and has been worse for Colts nation my friend! I'm just hoping for lightning in a bottle is all. Keepin' w/the positive vibes. :)

So true, I remember that saying well. Last 20 years we've definitely had good football to watch. Some crappy years, but way better then most nfl franchises have given to some fans.

    LOL

We've had 4th round picks get cut before (remember Terrance Taylor?). Last year, the Chiefs cut Keivarae Russell after camp, and he was their third rounder. We've also kept 4th rounders for a year or two, they still didn't play well, and eventually got cut. If the staff firmly believes that "he didn't earn a spot on the roster," like Ballard expressly said about Banner, why should they keep him?

By the way, this happens every year. Some guys don't work out, and there's no sense in dragging it out.

Terrence Taylor..lol. I remember them talking about his 800lb bench press ability (not the exact # I know, just threw it in).

I don't mean to be contrary or argumentative... I just think there has been a long tradition of not building a deep enough and competitive enough roster, to become a dominant champion. IMO, and in my gut, these are the types of moves that build champions.

We have needed a legit rebuild for a while. No washed up guys on the backend of their careers or holding on to guys who get a barely passing grade simply because it's the best we have.

Screw that, go through some growing pains and build legit depth and hit on your high draft picks.

Thanks, I've been around a while lol

Same here, it's just usually the Peyton years are considered going way back nowadays.

I'll watch some Eugene Daniel's and big play Ray games any day (Just making done from those days).

Again (I asked this about a different player to another poster earlier) why not?

The new PS rules allow up to 4 (up from 2 last year) players with 2 accrued seasons.  Parry has 2 accrued seasons, yes?  Not more?  Then I think he should be eligible by rule...

Whether we want to or not is another story...

Could be totally wrong so don't quote me, but I remember thinking along the lines of what you're saying and had a friend who knows more about this stuff tell me once that if you played a certain amount of games in first 2 seasons, you lose eligibility in the third.

  8. Having finally watched the Cincy game..

I like Q.Wilson's size. Still early, but you can definitely see Ballard likes those long athletic guys.

I definitely think Ballard's scrubs will be better in general then our boy Grigs and I definitely like how you can see that we will be the height weight speed type team Ballard keeps talking about.

Whether the talent or results eventually come is yet to be seen, but I definitely like how we're being remade. Definitely not sweating this year, let's just get better overall in general.

    Totally random thoughts.

I'm not surprised he was cut.  The off field issues didn't help him, but more importantly, he had trouble getting off of blocks, at least last year.  What will surprise me is if he makes the PS.  We'll know soon.

Not eligible for the PS. He's definitely now a former Colt.

TY McGill = Caesar Rayford. Gets 2-3 sacks a year in the last game of the season in garbage time, folks actually think he's good.

    Same with Drake Nevis.

So true though. There is always a cult like following with fringe players.

John Chick type guys come to mind as well.
