Because if I'm a team on the outside looking in, he lead the league in receiving yards last year. That screams NO.1 WR to me. But on the inside looking out, Colts fans know his inconsistencies. Inconsistent players are not worth keeping around.

So we will have zero wr's with experience next year? Honest question?

Moncrief and I think Aiken are FA's.

We're gonna roll with 3 or 4 new WR's next year?

Less than one per team is still pretty good considering there are only 15-20 QBs in this league worth a damn. TYs average game production would be easily replaced. Would his random out bursts be reproduced? Who knows.. look at all the WRs drafted in later rounds killing defenses today.. Antonio Brown, Diggs, plenty more that I don't care to look up.. Is TY Hilton replaceable? YES. very much so. Do I think we should trade him? No. Would I be mad if we traded him? No.

Everyone in the nfl is replaceable honestly. Doesn't mean it's a smart move.

If it's so easy to replace his production, why would anyone trade for him?

he is on pace for a thousand yards this year, what makes you think we will do any  better with a second round pick?  its a huge risk

we might end  with somebody like quincey wilson, rather than a pro bowler

Apparently it's easy. Every team has a 1k receiver.

TY led the NFL in receiving last season.  How'd that translate to team success?  How about his numbers this season?  The point is, if the Colts are looking to trade pieces, I'm grateful it's in places where finding replacements isn't as hard as others.  TY was a third round pick for goodness sake, so this whole notion that he is someone untouchable is crazy to me.

You'll be wishing he was back when the lead WR averages 50 yards a game and is never a threat to score.

Go ahead and throw out 'oh but this year'...yeah with the qb who's been here 8 weeks and is a backup.

  5. Watson looks like he's going to be a solid nfl qb.

Chud will avoid Mack and insist on 7 step drops to make sure Houston's pass rush has enough time to get into the backfield.

Chuck will clap for a challenge he's lost.

    Colts roll....into a 35-14 loss.

What’s there to disagree with? Harrison & Wayne averaged 10+ TD seasons, TY has yet to sniff one. That’s not opinion, it’s fact.

Everyone sucks this year honestly. You know it's not all about td's. Jacoby gets some blame (he's thrown a few into the ground in front of TY), but #7 has to get soon leeway. Been here a couple months. Chud also seems stale, or its a combo of QB/OC.

He's a threat. A 1600 yard get doesn't get any slack with you?

Pretty easy to replace his production....

    last 3 games

    19 targets

    5 receptions

    8 drops

    51 yards.

surely we can find a guy to catch the ball 6 times out of 20

I meant the last 6 years.

I know you know this is one of those garbage can years, sometimes EVERYTHING goes wrong. I've read this forum for years before posting and know you're one of the sane ones. Having a guy with 6 years and 6K yards is awesome nowadays.

Getting rid of a proven guy for a maybe for me isn't a wise move. He's not Megatron, but that doesn't make him expendable to me.

It isn't as easy as people think to have a playmaker at WR. This isn't like swapping LB's. Reg and TY were average year one. The new kid will also do the same most likely. No wr threat next year.

    Side Note:

In my sweetest dreams, Reggie, TY and Pierre would have been a fun thing to watch if it ever happened.

TY Hilton is not Marvin Harrison, nor is he Reggie Wayne. He’s never had a double-digit TD season, & he’s gonna be 28 next year. Trading him now while he can still net a high draft pick would be better than trying to move him in a year or 2 when he’s lost a step.

    Gotcha.

    Totally disagree, but I gotcha.

You better make sure the next guy is better though.

Did you just compare Hilton to future HOFer Wayne ? Hiltons always been inconsistent , putting up stats against out garbage division . Now that's he's needed, he isn't doing a damn thing .Sure it has something to do with him . He's getting paid like a 1 receiver and playing second fiddle to a free agent tight end.

I hear you man. Respectfully disagree 150,000%.

Guy had 1600 yds 12 months ago and is now bum. Tough crowd in here.

He's out of rehab officially and has yet to reapply for reinstatement yet. from what I gather this last time of rehab was actually successful and legit.

    That's a huge gamble honestly.

For me I want TY here.

This to me would be the equivalent of reading Reggie back in the day.

TY is legit. I think they've forgotten how good he is.

We're 2-6 or whatever, it's not because of him.

People will defend terrible players to the death here, but TY?? Nah he's garbage, five me a second rd pick?? Lol what??

Disappear? How do you know that is Hilton's fault. In order for him to get the ball the play calling and adjustments need to be made that the Colts are not making. We are not getting the ball to any of our receivers.

C'mon man, it's definitely TY's fault. Chud only draws up spectacular plays. Where you been?

Free agency , draft. Lots of options . Luck isn't playing this year anyway .

If they did it I'm still a Colts fan, but to me it's a dumb plan.

You can still build the team with TY.

People need to stop making him Randy Moss, he hasn't said anything tragic.

Maybe we should have shipped Peyton when he dissed the oline years ago.

I know this would be a weird thought as well, however all the Bills seemed to have done this year is get rid of their star players and they are 5-2 and surprisingly looking pretty solid

So luck will throw to who exactly? Not being an A, sincerely asking?

Crief won't be signed so we will have a rookie and Aiken (no idea of he's on a multi year deal)and some other rookies and Rodgers? Good luck with that next year.

And we guaranteed won't win another game this season. I was guessing one-two more, but if he left it's 2-14 this year and nobody at wr next. Doesn't sound like a great plan to me.

no shafty138, that's not a smart move at all. You don't trade away good players for a 50% chance of getting a good player from the draft, much less a pro bowler. And what money to free up? we're 20 million under cap. The point of drafting and free agency is getting good players on your roster. Not trade them away like the browns.

I'm actually totally shocked by our fan base on this one.

Seems the majority wants him gone for a pick.

Pro TY IS in a small minority.

I don't see how you get better by getting rid of your second best player.
