  1. But I'm not. Look at my first thread in this post and you will see that I said 12 and Griffin both could be rookie of the year. That troll Indybarb is always trying to twist my posts around to make them anticolt.

I am a colts fan and therefore not a troll, thank you!

  2. My prediction would go the other way, I don't think he would put up sensational #s at all behind this non existant OL. He's already had a concussion and a knee injury on a team we can clearly see is much superior. Arians isn't going to cater to anyone on another note.

We get to see this OL weekly and boy it is easily one of the worst I've ever seen. Gotta factor in the teams offense is playing with a combination of 6 rookies and their best lineman is a 2nd year player who has struggled through some injuries in his early career.

It's clear Andrew is doing unbelievable, with the talent he has around him.

This team should develop into a MUCH better team next year. First and foremost is giving this kid who has been knocked down triple digit times a line first.

In short I've never seen a rookie and a team that was as bad on paper do as much with as little. Definitely a storybook season.

    good post...

  3.  Yeah, if he played for the Colts and still put up the sensational numbers and had the fantastic season that he has had with the Redskins, I would still choose him for Rookie of the Year. Get over yourself. I have nothing against your Golden Boy who can do no wrong. He is 0-1 against us so far, so at this point, why would I be angry about the competition part of this?

You need to get over yourself...with the help of our Rookie quarterback, he catapulted the Colts into a 10-5 season and after this weekend and just might be 11-5.

  4.   No, after he dismantled the Saints in convincing fashion his very first game he became the media darling. Both he and 12 were talked about to sickening levels before the season even started, and I know that it is not going to change for either one of them. As long as they continue to be successful, I'll be cool with it lol.

And, if RG3 played for The Colts, your choice would be quite different. You choose him because Luck is competition to your Texans. So, go ahead and make my day, reply.

  5. IMO, RG3 has a magical personality which has further catapulted him into being somewhat of a media darling. He is a good quarterback and The Redskin's are doing quite well "at the present time", however; looking back, there was also a section of this season where Luck was out performing RG3. My question is, what is the reason for being the Rookie of the Year? Is it for media attention and being on the main stage, or, being the best rookie quarterback? What is the most important recognition to each of these quarterbacks? It's easy to answer.

  6. Why do so many people here have a "complex" about Luck regarding his perception outside of Indy? He has been universally bowed down to as "the next big thing" since before LAST season started. If he doesn't win the award it won't be because people don't like small markets (never seemed to hurt Peyton in the MVP voting, now did it?), it will be because someone else deserved it more. In that regard, yes, a poor game is going to impact his chances. The competition is WIDE open. Frankly Wilson is a far more compelling "story" at this point, all though he may fall a bit short statistically. However what do you think will happen if Wilson lights it up against the best defense in the league in prime time this week, if Luck can't hit 50% against one of the worst teams in the league? And Seattle isn't exactly the media capital of the world either.

    Home sweet home.

Just attempting to be realistic, not snarky. Most fans here in Indy are not denying that Andrew more than deserves to be a candidate, however, if you listen to ESPN or The NFL network a different perception comes through. And, don't several of those comentators place "votes" for that award? RG3, unless he lays an egg, will receive that award. That was the point I was attempting to make. JMO.

  7. On the Week 3 injury report, they have Collie listed as probable to play from his "head" injury. That is the game he did come in and played and eventually blew out his knee. An article on The NFL Network further explains the issue.

  8. well no kidding. Tell me something I don't know about my colts. There's a few areas that need shoring up, but this year has been special regardless of outcome. People can complain about Lucks INT's and his bonehead decisions, but I'm OK with it. The whole team seems united and generally like great people. This may be the most proud of any colts team I've ever seen.

To get this far this quick is mind boggling. We have 35+ new people, with new coaches, philosophies, rookies a plenty.

It's OK if we screw up once in a while. This team will be special for a long time I'm sure the rest of the division sees it. Colts/Texans will be a matchup for years. Can't wait.

    Amen!

This has been a banner year for me. The Colts have come much farther than most experts predicted...look back at what we had to work with and how far we have come and, if we don't lay an egg, we are playoff bound. Remarkable accomplishment for a so so rebuilding team. Go Colts!

  10. Of course they were going to target Manning. Williams already targeted him in 2006.

If you are going to target the QB in the divisional round and the NFCCG, you of course are going to do the same in the Super Bowl.

Goodell better never make the mistake of reinstating Williams. The man, and I use that term only because other words aren't allowed, doesn't deserve to coach at any level.

    Excellent post! :number1:

  11. Redskins fans here.

I don't mean to destroy your hopes, but RG3 will win rookie of the year, hands down. It's not even close. I know it, the experts know it, and deep down inside you guys know it.

He is sitting at a QBR rating of 104.2. That not only leads all rookies, but it leads THE ENTIRE NFL. Yes, ahead of Tom Brady, ahead of Peyton Manning, ahead of Aaron Rodgers. Maybe if it was after 3 weeks, some would say that's a fluke, but its Week 14 of the NFL, with 3 games left. That means he has been playing GREAT football, week-in week-out on a CONSISTENT basis.

It seems to me the only argument you have is "but Luck has Colts in the playoffs". Andy Dalton got into the playoffs last year. So what? Getting into the playoffs doesn't mean squat. You have to win it all to get respect. Ask Andy Reid. Maybe if you guys won the division title and had a first round bye, that would be a MUCH more impressive resume for Luck's rookie year. But as a wild-card, with a cupcake schedule? Please.

Your other argument is, "but he has X amount of game-winning drives". Those are situations he PUT HIMSELF in with all those INTs. Again, with those cupcake teams you've played, you've handed them the game and they STILL let you guys comeback. If Luck throws 3-4 INTs against NFC East teams, I guarantee he will be BURIED with no hope of a comeback. Again, I re-iterate, he has had a CUPCAKE SCHEDULE and STILL throws 18 interceptions? That's not RoY material.

I understand RoY doesn't make one's career, but Year 1 goes to RG3, not Andrew Luck. Sorry.

Are you not getting a little ahead of yourself?

I can see another 23-pages of postings! My Christmas wish is that no more RG3 threads be posted. Here we go again!

  12. I think I'm doing a poor job of connecting two points. One, what I see as our soft schedule. Two, how we have performed against it. My concern (this thread was about a 'new fear'...) is that beyond winning, we're not winning with any level of command. Whereas Houston -- with pretty much the same schedule as you note -- is not only winning, they're winning convincingly. I think no one says anything about Houston's schedule because they often win big and they've beaten good teams like Chicago (when they were hot) and Baltimore (when they were playing better) and beat both pretty convincingly.

The Colts, by the same measure, seem to beat similar opponents by the skin of their chin. (or their chinny-chin-chin!)

I hope that clarifies my concerns... contrasting the two teams I think exposes the difference in my mind between Houston and Indy.

    Again, just my two cents....

I get your point; however, at the beginning of this season, many sports commentators looked at our schedule and predicted The Colt's at 6-wins max. The Colt's beat a formidable Green Bay team and, a poor Jacksonville team fairly convincingly. And remember, Jacksonville gave Houston a very good game. I highly doubt that The Colts will beat Houston twice, but I also feel there will not be any blowouts either.
