That is great and all but it has yet to benefit this offense

I think it's actually a detriment right now. Ebron certainly can't hold onto the laser beams coming in hot (had same issue in Detroit w/ Stafford). Even TY and Doyle have had problems catching passes that JB flings in there at top velocity trying to fit in a tight window when he's late on a throw.

I think JB's deep passing timing (being poor right now) is a big reason they don't take many deep shots as well.

All that said, once Jacoby figures out his deep pass timing, his arm strength will turn into an asset.

When has JB displayed on a regular basis that he can hit WRs downfield with this big arm you’re talking about?  Not just a handful of plays

I think Colin nailed the comparison.

Oh his deep pass timing is very poor, I don't disagree.

There is zero debate that JB has a rocket launcher for an arm though.

WOW!!! Colin Cowherd just did a segment on his show today about playoff contenders whether they are trick or treat... Now bare in mind Colin loves the Colts but he said they're a trick.

Analogy was based on the Colts being ranked 22nd in passing and 18th overall in offense with arguably one of the 3 best o-lines in football. Also in a nutshell too many scratch and claw wins. Said JB is more like Dak and that the Colts DO miss Luck. I take what Colin says with a grain of salt but thought his take was interesting.

I'm not sure that comparison is that accurate. Dak sucks, and doesn't have near the escapability as JB. Plus JB's arm is light years better than Dak.

With out a doubt they need to change up the play calling.

Need some screens, throws to RBs, slants, jet sweeps (even if fake) to Campbell/Hines, and more play action.

I'd like to see the percentages of runs on 1st down. It would prob make me puke. Change it up!

I do agree with the top 3 Oline in the league (not sure who has better) and 22nd in passing and 18th in overall offense is pretty weak.

  4. https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2856298-br-untold-stories-antonio-cromartie-believes-colts-cut-him-for-kneeling

Former NFL cornerback Antonio Cromartie told Bleacher Report's Master Tesfatsion that he believes the Indianapolis Colts cut him during his final season in the league because he chose to protest social injustice and police brutality by kneeling during the national anthem.

"It ain't have nothing to do with my age, it ain't have nothing to do with my style of play," he said. "It was because I took a knee."

Cromartie revealed former Colts head coach Chuck Pagano asked the team not to take a knee during the 2016 campaign and said "when we go out on the football field, it's about football."

The cornerback took offense to that because the Colts made such a point of stressing how there were things more important than football when the head coach was diagnosed with leukemia during the 2012 season.

Cromartie said his best friend and former New York Jets teammate Joe McKnight was killed by a white man who had been angered by McKnight's driving in what was deemed a manslaughter. The 35-year-old Cromartie added that he was worried about his sons being in a similar situation.

The trend of NFL players kneeling during the national anthem started with Colin Kaepernick in the 2016 preseason. He told NFL Media after the game, "I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color."

Cromartie first knelt during the anthem in Week 3 against the then-San Diego Chargers, and he told Tesfatsion that team executives told him to get up. They also asked him not to kneel during a Week 4 game in London, and he was benched at halftime after he did.

Despite being released after those four games, the cornerback said he doesn't regret his decision to kneel and that he was happy to provide a voice for those who did not have the same type of platform.

Cromartie played for the Chargers, New York Jets, Arizona Cardinals and Colts from 2006 through 2016 and was a four-time Pro Bowler.

Either way (if it was because of kneeling/or because he was trash and got benched) I'm proud of Pagano for keeping it about football, not personal beliefs.

It's possbile that we are not really very good.  Most of the numbers other than W-L record point in that direction.

Yeah, yeah wins are the only thing that matters, but numbers probably explain why we "Play down".

We should win this game by at least two touchdowns. This Steelers team isn’t good and Mason Rudolph is trash.

If we can’t beat this teams * then I think we may struggle when we inevitable play a big good team.

I just hope the Colts don't sleep on them like they slept on the Broncos.

They need to stop playing down to weaker opponents and up to good ones. It's like Reich saves his good play calling for teams he thinks are better and then goes more vanilla against weaker teams.

I guess Cincy is a bit further South than Indy.    I don't think they wanted to lose the Cincy/Cleveland rivalry.

Or AFC East like they used to be back in the day.

South makes zero sense. Move Dolphins back to AFC South and Colts back to East.

Hines is already our second leading receiver.  I agree on the slants and screens.  We have them, they just don’t seem to be very successful most of the time.

    Dang, I didn't know that.

I still want to see him used as a WR - he has good hands and is great in space.

Why do we keep doing this when we all thought Luck's arm was shot the first 4-5 weeks of the season while he was getting it back in shape after returning from his injury and while we were trying to avoid killing Luck because neither AC nor Smith were yet staring and the run game was non-existent?

Numbers are good to have, numbers without context are useless. What's this incessant desire to prove Jacoby is playing close to Luck's level? He's not. And he very likely never will. Believe me, this is NOT a comparison you will want to be making in the long run. Nothing good will come of it for Brissett. Let Brissett succeed or fail on his own terms.

  10. If the Steelers are going to play D like Denver did, the Colts better adjust this game.

Chip with TE's this game, but then send them for quick passes.

I don't understand why the Colts never throw slants (or successful screens).

Let's see some draw plays if they continue to blitz!

I'd like to see a LOT more passes to RB's out of the backfield too.

I was given tickets to the game yesterday as a very nice Birthday gift. I went into Lucas feeling pretty confident that we would easily beat this this team, and that the Trap game stuff I read on here was just crazy talk.

After the first Field goal miss and as our offense began to struggle against a very good Broncos Defense, I started to get nervous.  When they scored after halftime I really started to get a bad feeling.

The last 3-4 games I’ve been to, they’ve lost, really was starting to get a complex, lol. By the middle of the fourth, some fans were starting to lose faith and shuffle out to beat traffic. The thought never crossed my mind to leave early, but I was having a hard time staying positive and cheering for the team and making noise while the Broncos offense was on the field.

Then I looked over at my 9 yr old son. He never lost faith, was screaming off the top of his lungs and saying, “WIN FOR DADDY, WIN FOR DADDY,” lol! That was awesome and got me fired up, then Brissett shrugs off Miller and makes the amazing throw to TY!!! Not going to lie, I shut my eyes when Vinny was kicking the eventual game winner, so glad he redeemed himself with that kick!!!! What a emotional roller coaster of a birthday gift, but thanks Colts!!!!!!

Moral of my rant, NEVER LOSE FAITH, at least during a close game!!!!!

    GO COLTS!!!!:rock::colts:

    Happy belated Birthday boss!!

Your son is awesome, and I'm with you. I didn't want to look when AV kicked that FG! lol

  12. Funny how these things go in cycles. Not that long ago, the AFC South was considered trash.

I also think it's stupid that Indy got moved to the AFC South. Colts should be AFC North!!!

  13. I'd say the #2 WR is either Doyle or Ebron. I'd like to see them thrown to alot more.

I've said this probably 20x, but I would like to see Hines lined up at WR.

I do like Pascal alot, but I think he is a solid #3.

Campbell and Cain have done nothing.

    I'm over Rogers.

It will be nice to get Fountain and Funchess back.
