I look at it this way. If bethea is up for a contract next year do we sign him to a long term deal? Or do we get something for him and get a rookie in here to start grooming. People need to get their personal feelings out of the way
Already been said many times i agree draft a safety this year or next and replace Bethea then before we sign him to any other decently big contract.

no the colts have just asked him to play SS because our other safeties couldnt tackle my 6 year old niece. you forget bethea when he was playing centerfield made him a pro bowler. with landry, bethea doesnt have to play near the box anymore and that why i think his production has dumped the last couple of years. hes a much better safety when hes playing center field then when hes playing in the box
I have said the same before not hating on Bethea but his supporting cast hurt him .But i still would look for a safety in draft this year or next before i gave him a decent contract.Hes not getting younger i know he has a few years left but why not get youth in draft to maintain our team for years to come?

I don't think the Colts are contenders and even with these good free agent signings, I see them moving back closer to a .500 team. They played way above their heads last year and won 11 game while be outscored by opponents for the season.....
You sure your a Colts fan?With our defense and offense already better than last year,and with 1 year under Luck,Fleener,TY,Allen,Ballard all i have to say is (CMON MAN) what you thinking?

Well he would add veteran leadership, and is still a good player, we really don't need him now. In my opinion, we're set at S and don't need to add an older player to the mix.
Agree 100% no need to throw that much money at him.I would rather us draft a safety this year or next even and have youth,than pay him the dollars.

Oh i havent ive already talked about him on several threads hes going to be fine.And rejoining Pep he will probably be a bigger part of game plan.I even mentioned him as reminding me of Wes Welker he takes some hard hits holds the ball gets up for more:)

That's why I hated their games. Joe is a joke, he would just throw it up and hope for a catch or a penalty. Good for them but cheap.
He should buy everyone of his receivers a house they saved his bacon so many times with unbelievable catches.Wasnt pinpoint throwing with that arch he has it was plz catch this ball pretty plz:)

Also, remember last year when the coaches were really praising Sambrano? He also has a lot of natural talent.
Kelly is a real roll of the die. I don't expect him to make it. But I never thought Freeman could get past training camp, so that shows how much I know.

Sorry i do not like either pick but them are your choices,and Iam sure not Grigs but each to his own.We do not need a TE with our first pick thats for sure.And as far as backs go give Vick a chance behind a better o line so i dont see either picks being a must or a need.

They didn't really say that. They said they wanted Landry and got him. They didn't really say they wanted him or didn't want reed. He said they looked at everyone. Made me go hmmmmm.

With all his years of experience and a (Pro-Bowler), why can`t Antoine intercept one pass in a season.
He had the Great Freeney & Mathis scaring QB`s all to.
Oh ya, he did intercept ONE, three seasons ago (2010). LUV him all YOU want. We need a playmaker for the Big $$$ he gets.

Iam definately not in love with Bethea lol just saying he would have to come very cheap to keep.I have already said his play has dropped off but i would rather draft his replacement than sign Reed to big dollars.

I see alot of Wes Welker in Whalen just my opinion and Iam sure he will produce for Pep.Griff was taking them big hits holding onto ball great hands nice catches until injury.

Jake may have too many injury issues great player but has had alot of injuries in a short time.

What if we traded Bethea and picked up a safety in the draft(Elam anyone?) and then Ed Reed in FA to mentor the one we draft? I love Bethea and really think he just had a down year but with Reed leaving texans without a deal it's still a possibility.
I'd prefer to just keep Bethea and Landry myself but wouldn't be too discouraged by the move.
Iam pretty sure Grigs and Pags have no interest in Reed since they said they have no interest in Reed.
After some careful thought..
