Love the deflect by the way on predictions... what do you have to lose. Give it a shot at predicting attempts/receptions, TDs/INTs, AverageYardsPerCompletion, and QBR....

I guess I just don't enjoy that like some do. I never predict wins either. For me, it's just wild guessing because individual games so often turn out much differently than expected.

He said that JB7 should have actually thrown it harder  .......   Later got on JB7 a little again for babying a throw over the middle to a wide open T.Y.,

Two passes that Manning says were not thrown hard enough?

Brissett needs to stop reading this forum!

Care to do a Denver prediction challenge?

Ok, my friend, here's my prediction:

I predict that when the Colts / Broncos game is over, all of the Denver fans will have a greater appreciation for Jacoby Brissett's abilities than you.

It's  like predicting the sun will rise in the east. ..... An easy slam dunk!

    I can see 2020 perfectly.

JB ends the year on a high note, losing a heart breaker to the Pats in the AFC championship. Brady retires.

    Then....

Indy doesn't re-sign Ebron, Chad Kelly goes to TN and wins the AFCS, and JB breaks his leg the week before game one. Luck comes back but re-retires after stubbing his toe in game 1. Hoyer becomes the starting QB and we have to listen to how good he is from the sunshine pumpers. Ebron goes on to set both single season drop and TD records with Stidham and wins another SB for Belichick.

Just another year for a Colts fan.

    Great Post!

And much more believable than your analysis of The Colts QB!

he still has areas that need improvement. TTT, air yards, stare downs, progression, etc..

Don't forget the lack of touch on his passes.

But I guess that would be included in "etc.."

Too many flaws to list them all!

He's not the perfect, mistake-free QB yet, ........

......but I'm sure you will let us know when he gets there!

All whites rock! One of the best uniforms in the league with the Jets.

I think the Raiders were wearing all white Sunday, which I don't remember seeing before.

They looked good...looked like the Colts all white.

I am watching the Pats at Jets, imagine if JB had a game like Darnold is having tonight. This place would be implode lmao . Darnold looks awful.

I've seen all 21 games Brissett has started as a Colt (as many of us have.

Brissett has never looked awful (to me) ....not even close.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I actually prefer Brissett, at least right now, over Luck at QB.

    I don't think it's crazy.

I just learned that last year when the Colts were 1-5 it was Brissett, not Luck that called the players only meeting that helped turn things around.

Why do that to yourselves? When we lose, we are needing a new coach, GM, and QB. When we win we are winning out, QB MVP talk, and coach of the year talk.

How about taking each week....one game, and hope for the best?

Here is to a winning season, and no more long term injuries. Enjoy each game...win or lose!

Wasn't it Dungy, maybe Pagano, who said something like, "It's never as bad as you think is. And it's never as good as you think it is" ?

I would have liked to see them run it 3 times in the possession with 8 minutes left to kill 3 minutes of clock.

    That really bothered me.

The Colts first two possessions of the 4th quarter were run, incomplete pass, incomplete pass.

They took almost no time off the clock with those two possessions when the Texans needed 2 TDs to have a chance.

J.B. Made 4 or 5 obvious throw aways when he saw the play call wasn't there or coverage was too tight.

The importance of this cannot be overstated. When it happens, it's like, ho-hum, boring, whatever. .... But it is very important to not take a sack or force a bad throw. This is about my only criticism of AL. He just would not do it. He would take a sack far too often or force a throw rather than throw it away. Not saying JB is a better QB. But in this one very important way, he is.

You are like me, you have always been pro Brissett. Smart man

Thanks but you don't have to be smart. Some people let the low yardage numbers cloud their thinking. He's going to have more games where he is closer to 200 yards, or below, when the Colts are dominating on the ground. That won't mean Brissett has "regressed". It will only mean the offense is taking what the defense gives them.

Luck threw for less than 200 yards 18 times.

In those 18 games the Colts were 12-6.

Luck threw for over 300 yards 35 times.

In those games the Colts were 18-17.

Less than 200 doesn't automatically mean poor performance and losing. And over 300 doesn't automatically mean good performance and winning.

I think that’s reasonable and a good strategy.

I remember when the Colts drafted Manning.

Because I loved Harbaugh, and I thought he was still a good QB, I wanted them to keep him in case Manning was a flop. Even though that idea was not practical, I was not ready to move on from Harbaugh.

Similar thing could happen with Brissett. He might be good enough for the Colts to be a winning team, but if the front office thinks they have an opportunity to upgrade the position, I'm sure they will.

I’m not fully sold on JB.

    Who is?...Who could be?

He played one year on a bad team, and is only 5 games into this one.

I've been happy with Brissett so far. That doesn't mean I want him to be QB for the next ten years.

Personally, I'm not looking to crown a "franchise" QB. I want the Colts to upgrade every position as the opportunity presents itself, including QB.

I think two things impacted last year vs KC.

IIRC, KC had 3-4 sacks, 6ish QB hits, and a bunch of hurries. Our OL was pretty bad. So not a lot of time to let deep stuff develop. Getting down early really made us single threaded.

Second, we didn't have near the team speed at WR that we do this year. Outside of TY, we really didn't have anyone that could stretch the field. Rogers, Pascal, Inman, etc aren't speedy deep guys. And TY was only 4 catches on 11 targets. They doubled him and could easy one on one or zone all of our other guys. If memory serves, both Rogers and Inman had solid/reliable games but it was mostly short dink and dunk type stuff.

That Luck was  not seeing open receivers is unthinkable. But not even one time? NO! not once! it cannot be! (even though the typical TV view of every play is not wide enough to show deep receivers that are not getting the ball thrown to them)

We watch Brissett from the same restrictive angle. The camera follows the ball. Deeper receivers are out of the picture until the ball is in the air. But it is assumed they are open. Brissett is just too slow getting around to seeing them.

By the way, Phillip Dorsett was fast too. ...Did Luck just not see him open deep?
