  1. My opinion on the highest impact players for this season... These are players I think will have not just a good season but a GREAT season!

Jay Cutler at QB has the highest increase from last season to this season. New weapons added to the arsenal and another year in the Martz offense.

McFadden at RB is a beast and if he can stay healthy he will run for over 1000 yards guaranteed and with Bush gone he will not have to look over his shoulder anymore.

Mike WIlliams at WR has the potential to be top 10 wideout with Freeman getting over his sophomore slump and I think he will have a much better season than last (VJax wil draw double coverage leaving Williams open to burn the DB's)

  2. I am extremely surprised that Dallas hasn't landed somewhere yet. I guess that since he is a nine year veteran that is what is keeping people from going after him.

On a scale of 1 to 5 (5 being extremely surprised)

Clark - 4 (he is a proven receiver but maybe his blocking skills are what is keeping him from serious interest)

Addai - 2.5 (most teams overlook him. His numbers are not great for a feature back compared to the two or three that are still out there)

Brackett - 2.5 (if he wasn't a Colt would he even have been the starting MLB on most teams?)

Painter - .5 (given opportunity and proved that he wasn't ready and didn't really prepare since he had Peyton in front of him, maybe it is a question of "on field" work ethic)

Bullit - 1 (yes we loved him but outside of Colts fans does anyone really know who he is?)

  3. It doesn't matter who is in the backfield. If the line doesn't block then even Walter Payton would had trouble gaining 50 yards on the ground in a game.

Donald Brown has some real talent and I think he can handle the load as a feature back, but my only fear is that with a rookie QB and an offensive line that has serious holes Donald will not have a chance to shine. He will be lost likely an extra blocker on blitz pick ups as well as the check down guy. The run game will most likely be worse than it has been in years. The defenses will stack the box and pressure Luck (or whomever our starting QB is) for the better part of the game.

I wish Donald the best this year as I do anyone wearing the blue horseshoe on the helmet but it will be a tough uphill climb for him. Most likely if he doesn't perform it will be his only shot and the Colts will grafter a stud RB in the draft next season.

BTW... who is the top prospect entering the draft next season at RB?

  4. But did the Colts downgrade the backup position by letting Orvlovsky walk and then sign Stanton who hasn't thrown in a game, in over a year?

Orlovsky salvaged our losing season and kept us from going 0 - 16, but did he really do anything. Things were so bleak that big Dan looked like the man when he came up with a win. He still is the guy that ran out of the end zone one Detroit.

  5. Historically I have to say the Patriots and the team nobody seems to have mentioned... the Pittsburgh Steelers.

They have done some bad things to our beloved Colts in the playoffs over the past few years.

    1. New England Patriots

    2. Pittsburgh Steelers

    3. Tennessee Titans

  6. I thinkAaron Rodgers wanted a veteran center and not a rookie or an inexperienced one in front of him. It seems that what Aaron wants Aaron will get ... at least for now.

Jeff Saturday is no longer a Colt and that makes me sad. I guess he wasn't ready to hang it up and wear a suit or a polo on the sidelines and maybe after two more seasons the offer will still be good and Jeffy will be a Colt again and on the sideline telling people how to do it the right way.

  7. I am not sure if anyone could be the net Curtis Painter.

I don't think that guy was ready to ever go in and play a game in the NFL. It seemed to me that he knew he had Peyton in front of him and he was mainly a guy to help Peyton study film and get coverages together but not be game ready.

Stanton already has experience in the game and will definitely benefit from it if he has to get in the game to make some plays. Painter had ZERO experience (unless you call preseason game experience) and just didn't seem ready to take the reigns when they were handed to him. If he had any chance or even a bit of promise I think the Colts ownership would have signed him to a two year deal.

  8. Baltimore Colt - it has to be Johnny Unitas

Indianapolis Colt - I am sticking with Marshall Faulk

Faulk is the reason I became a Colts fan. I remember watching all the highlights on ESPN every week about this kid at San Diego State University and I was a big football fan at the time. (Just wasn't raised to be one) Seeing what her did made me pay attention every week to see the highlights of what he did the next week. When he was drafted I then said "That is my team and that will be the guy to turn the franchise around."

  9. Avery is a great pick up and he has a serious upside in potential. He suffered a huge case of alligator arms last season. If he can cure that and with his size and true ability he could be a huge asset to the Colts WR stable.
