  1. So, what have we seen in the grand scheme?

    1) Coaches are showing they adjust on the fly. Remember that first drive? Feels like a completely different game since then. We're sitting on their TEs, just need to tighten up that run D (And as soon as I say this Ertz goes for long. sigh. Ertz is amazing)

    2) The ineptitude of the first two drives by the Colts? We're starting to move the ball more, and are hitting more intermediate routes with some alright runs mixed in

The Eagles are clearly IMO the more talented team here. But, the Colts are showing a great coaching staff actively at work.

  2. Well, during Christmas season I have the lights set to turn on from 6am to 8am, then from 6pm to 12am.

My walkway lights are solar powered, so as soon as it get darks they turn o....

    Oh, you mean the offense?

    - When our O-Line is full strength. It'll completely open up everything at that point

  3. I dont think we'll see the entirety of the Colts offense at any point. Watching how Philly developed their offense over the entire season last year, they would find a formation they liked, and every week add a new play or variation of motions to achieve the same end result. So, that TD pass to Hilton this last week? I expect by the end of the season we'll have 3-4 different plays based off the same look. The traps they showed this week with Nelson? Bet your buttox they're going to turn those pulls into bootlegs to both side, and add RPO's to them. Ebron now has two back-shoulder fades for TDs. Watch them design a screen underneath him releasing to the outside in the Red Zone, etc etc

  4. First game I do recall two mistakes made by Reich: Not calling a time-out during a defensive sub which was late off the field, giving the Bengals a free play plus 2 yards within the 5 yard line. The second was not taking the 3 in the RZ.

This week nothing stood out. I do think he took a bit too long (3 series?) to adjust in the second half to how the Skins changed up their defensive look (to be fair, the last INT by Luck of course didnt help).

The biggest differences in Offensive style:
    1) Reich plays to stay ahead of the sticks, leading to a lot of easy 3rd down conversions. Last year it was Gore up the middle for 3 yards. Jacoby trying to complete a 7 yard pass. Didn't convert? Gore up the middle for 3 yards and a punt.

    2) Almost the same: In 3rd and short, we're not 100% of the time running it up the middle with our RBs.

    3) Utilizing motion to check the defense and using stacks to spring guys free. I mean... yeah. Duh.

Oh, and check out the first play in this highlight:

    HELLLLLOOOOOOOOOO Nelson pull and pancake!!!

Why is it your non football friends always wanna come over and do things while the game is on?

This is when you turn up the Volume, and face directly the TV. Only acknowledge questions directed at you. SCREAM every 1st down. Make your priorities known.

Lol....cant watch the game....following it here. When we are down, we are the same ole same ole to fans, and then when we are doing great, it is completely different vibe.

Have some spine, fans. Try not getting dramatic to the extreme with every momentum shift.

Screw that, emotions gotta FLY man :D

  7. I loved the way Henry played for us while he was here. That said: 68 tackles, 3 sacks in 3 years. Yes, complete mistake to cut him

Wait... people are that worked up about losing 68 tackles and 3 sacks... in 3 years? And not batting an eye when we let Eric Walden walk after getting 10 sacks?

Welp, at least we're consistent with the outrage

Hooker did not have a good game.

I still consider him a rookie w/ actual experience (same tbh w/ Wilson). He played 7 games last year, and one of his knocks was bad angles. Not giving a pass to either, but the talent is there which is something we couldnt say too long ago.

  9. Sigh.

Playoffs: Was never going to happen this season. All level heads expect a 7-9 to a 9-7 record in a solid AFC.

Play calling: With the exception of the lull at the start of the 2nd half, play calling appeared balanced and on point. The ball was coming out mostly quickly with some shots down the field. The Bengals have talent on the D, so a lull was frankly expected once they could get a look at what the Colts were trying to do. We also witnessed the most points scored by the Colts in the 1st half of a game since Luck joined the Colts. Grant was good, TY was efficient for the most part (The Ghost OPI not withstanding). Doyel was making plays late until he didnt. Hynes was flashing great as well in his role. This O will be borderline great IMO by season's end, sans injuries.

The D showed a lot today, good and bad. We flashed great especially in the 1st half, and then some simple bone-headed mistakes by youth. We created pressure, and turnovers. We then had guys taking bad angles, horse collars, and PI seemingly all at once.

I hate losing. I hate losing more than I love winning. That said, I believe we see growth here which is all we could really ask for. This is a positive step for the Colts, which I can embrace
