  1. I'm happy for him, but I really don't understand his viewpoint.

Sure, maybe the deal is nice, but he's going to a team that has an established starter, and a versatile (much more versatile than Brown) backup in Woodhead that can do it all.

He won't see the field much unless it's due to injury.

Again, I wish the best for him and hopes he makes the most of his opportunity.

  2. I think it's a fair contract, given this year's market. Whether he proves to be worth it in the future is a different story, but he's at a good age, has had multiple good years under his belt already, and is a great system fit.

    Yeah, it's a perfect fit.

  3. Yes he will! Redding's play significantly dropped off last yr. While RJF got better and better as the yr. went on.

Are you saying that Redding had a bad season last year? Because if you are, I completely disagree.

  4. Disagree, Redding wasn't that much better, if any better than RJF, and he's getting old now

I thought Redding had one of his best seasons ever last year, and had an ultra-impressive 17.1 rating on PFF, on top of having some great games near the end of the year.

I don't think they'll put RJF over him next year.

  5. Jones and RJF will both start more than likely

He's not depth. He'll most likely start across from Jones with Chapman in the middle

Unless you're talking about after the 2014 season, it will be Redding and Jones. RJF won't play over Redding.

  6. He's still going to be a rotational 5 tech defensive end.

It's worth considering after this season, but I think it's better to keep him for this season.

  7. Why do you think he is better in coverage? Cause I just dont see it

I assum PFF. They're usually pretty good with coverage ratings.

PFF is definitely part of the reason, but I don't judge players purely based on PFF.

I've watched every Dolphins game for the last 3 years, and I noticed that when he plays deep, teams do not throw to his side of the field. He's very quick to read routes and has a good amount of pass deflections.

For example, this season, in both Patriot games and in the first Bills game, they did not even think about going deep because Clemons had that completely covered. He's very good in zone coverage and has a good amount of experience in man coverage.

I can't guarantee that he'll be good with the Colts, but I can say that about every player. I saw very good things from Clemons with the Dolphins, and they can get him for nothing too expensive.

EDIT: Just as a side note too, he has played with Vontae Davis. I believe that chemistry has a lot to do in the secondary (look at LOB), and that helps.
