  1. As long as we don't lose sight of the fact that it took YEARS for Eli to emerge as anything but a possible waste of a top draft pick. If Manning is gone and Luck starts in 2012, people here aren't going to be so kind to him. "Lets see you do like Peyton did".

I can already tell that many haters are going to disgust me on these forums everytime the kid chucks an INT.

Lets also not forget the below.

Eli wasnt called the best prospect since John Elway.

    Eli wasnt replacing Peyton Manning.

Eli wasnt touted as pro-NFL ready since his junior year in college.

So lets not give this kid too much time to perform.

If you want your kid to start, he is expected to perform. This is NFL. Not fancy touch football in your backyard.

  2. Well... That would depend on if he's still under contract with the Jets, or not, and how consultants are treated as opposed to coaches.

It's also a public event, they aren't side by side. A hefty white haired fellow wasn't visible on the leaked video.

I think I remember reading/hearing at some point that when Moore retired he retired to South Carolina.

There could be implications, and there might not be any at all. It might be Manning turning to the two men he respects most from an offensive perspective and seeks their input in his rehab, and Cutcliffe is a HC at the college level and has the facility for Manning's use.

If was forced to bet my house on whether it was him or not, I would say it was.

FJC - Grigson should hire you to sort out Cap issues, if not already :P.

Respect for your passion and knowledge gathering.

  3. If Manning isn't offended by Irsay's victory lap deal, isn't irritated at the pettiness he's showed, at the hypocritical statements, and is comfortable with a short term deal when he might want to play longer, then there is a chance. I would call it a slim chance. But it will take Manning signing a fairly cheap deal, or cutting his cap #'s of the by 40-50%, and I'm not sure he'd be willing to do it.

Precisely said and for that very reason Manning wont be here.

  4. Mouthy, self-absorbed and showy, that "loser" was one of the most exciting (and successful) players to ever take the field, EVER!

I understand though why people get irritated by him. He gets that mouth running and some silly things fall out.

    You said it.

  5. Yeah, it's just for his time in Indy. Though I think he should retire. Unless he wins another Super Bowl (unlikely at this point), his legacy is set. There's not much to gain. And there's a lot to lose--a neck injury isn't something to take lightly. I'd rather he retire now and be healthy the rest of his life.

Easier said than done my friend.

He is a competitor. Will go down fighting than quitting.

All these media, Irsay, Eli have added fule to his fire.

  6. I wish more people realized this. It's like taking Tebows 4 best throws, editing it into a 30 second YouTube video and showing the world. Am I the only one who realized the clips have been edited? There had to be many many more throws. For all we know maybe some were sketchy.

He is supposed to upload a 3 hrs video making non-stop throws?.

You know what, my wish is the same as yours. Only our intentions are different.

Wish - We both want Peyton out of Indy.

Intentions - Colts wont make playoffs till Peyton is playing somewhere in AFC.

  7. Thanks for clarifying. What exactly does Peyton 'not deserve' by the way? Is it the hundreds of millions of dollars Irsay has paid him, or something else?

BraveheartColt, this is my final post of the day as there is a restriction for new members. So, if i dont respond subsequently, i am not ignoring you.

Well to explain Irsay paying millions of dollars - Peyton earned every cent of that. He generated so much money to the Colts, Indianapolis and the whole state and of course the intangibles are priceless. Every fan after the Colts win, next day have an extra spring in their steps and the morale is high. Believe it makes a huge impact. So, yes Irsay paying millions of dollars is not doing any favor to Peyton. Also, keep in mind, Colts are in the position to select Andrew Luck is purely coz of Peyton not playing. Even without playing he has contributed. I bet there are many teams who will pay 26 millions guaranteed money (money paid to Peyton ) to get Andrew Luck.

To answer "not deserve" part, how Irsay abused Peyton with the media. You dont call him a "politician" and Irsay's behaviour are leaning towards double standards. Thats just disrespectful.

Hope that clarifies. See you tomorrow bud.

  8. So are you suggesting that Peyton should sign for another team? And you would then support the team he signed for? Or are you suggesting that you are a Colts fan, and just want us to fail? Or something else?

I am a Peyton fan first. Then Colts. Having said that, i have no ill feeling against the Colts. However, Irsay's handling of Peyton is something Peyton doesnt deserve. Just let him go if you dont want him with out making a mockery out of it.

For that very reason, i would prefer Peyton to play for another team and of course i will support him. Would i support Colts without Peyton, i could care less.

  9. I hope this is Peyton and he is really doing better, but it really don't change a thing. I mean does anybody honestly believe Irsay is all of a sudden gonna write up a 28 million dollar check now because some goofball filmed Manning throw a whopping 4 passes through a hole in a wall from 75 yds away?

I really hope Peyton doesnt accept even if Irsay offers ( thats def not the plan of Irsay ). Really, this team has the same players. Unless Colts acquire lot of FAs, the Special teams and defense arent going to do any magic with new coaches.

  10. Thats him and he is looking good.

Peyton - Just get out of Colts and win SB somewhere. If Irsay wanted you back, he would have atleast consulted you not kept you in dark. Matter of fact, even Andrew Luck is available coz of you ( as you didnt play ). This team is the same yucky in all departments.

    Houston or Chiefs.

  11. Peyton with all the given circumstances and the way Colts ( Irsay ) have handled him, shouldnt be coming back.

Given that, dream location is Houston. You have good defense, running game and Andre Johnson combined with Reggie ( both are buddies ). We are talking SB and the best part, play the colts twice. If Peyton plays for 5 yrs, Colts have no playoffs for 5 yrs.

If that doesnt happen, his next best bet is Chiefs. They are also a QB away from SB. I have so much faith in Romeo Crennel defense ( lets not forget he stopped Aaron Rodgers this yr ). Again, Reggie and Bowe with Mclcuster and Jamas Charles, its pure lethal.

I believe, these 2 teams are his best choice. 3rd being Dolphins. Peyton doesnt want to go to NFC. I am sure his dream scenario is a SB of Manning brothers ( atleast have a possibility ).
