  1. You're questioning his patience?

He decided to return to school for his senior academic year to complete his degree, while the NFL was beckoning for him to enter the 2011 draft. He was also rated as the first pick back then as well.

As a highly ranked college prospect coming out of HS, he red-shirted his freshman year, and waited a whole year to play.

I think he is plenty patient.

Good, we will see him in playoffs 2017

  2. No difference in the challenge. Luck likes challenges. Luck was unafraid to join a previously poor-performing team to make it better. Luck joined the 1-11 Stanford team. He did make it better, much better. 4 years later, Stanford went 11-2. I expect Luck to accept the challenge of joining the 2-14 Colts team when he is drafted. I expect him to make it better, much better.

Yes, all i am saying is does he has enough patience. Coz with the current team it wont be in a year or 2

  3. I think you're missing the point. He UF is saying that Luck was not afraid to step into a situation where a team was rebuilding, as mentioned earlier in this thread. You are comparing how he played in college. It's not a similar comparison. The comparison that was being made is that he had made a similar decision in the past, and may not be afraid to do the same now by choosing to play with the Colts.

I didnt say he would afraid.

My point is does he has patience enough to wait till Colts get better. Seems like they are way down right now. No one questions his talent.

  4. I think you misunderstand. I claimed that Andrew Luck has seen a total clean up before, and was unafraid of it. What does that have to do with college football or professional football? Isn't a clean up a clean up? When you replace the entire coaching staff, that is a clean up, whether it is at the college level or the professional level.

Difference is magnitude, expectations, pressure, the game itself, money

  5. Ever hear of leverage? Back then Elway had leverage, especially being the #1 overall pick in the draft. Eli wasn't even the #1 overall pick and he only had a select few options who would swap picks with him. Elway had the leverage of playing baseball for the Yankees and Eli had the Manning name. Luck can't go to the colts and go "Draft me and I'm going to play so and so for xyz team". If you really think he can successfully demand to not play for the Colts you might want to take a look at the little to no leverage he has.

Manning name is a leverage?. Ok.

  6. Andrew Luck has seen this complete clean up before, at Stanford. He chose to join Stanford after Stanford posted a 1-11 season, fired its old HC, and hired a new HC in Jim Harbaugh. 4 years later, after red-shirting his freshman year, he leaves Stanford with a 31-7 record, as the winningest QB in its history.
NFL and College Football are very identical. Thats right.

There is a guy called Tim Tebow. Won Hiesman and 2 National Championships. Must be winning 8 SBs in 16 years NFL then.

  7. I am, too HBH...

but they sent medical teams to check him out...

I hope Mr. Irsay didnt make a mistake here..

He didnt want to risk Manning's health and he believes in Luck's ability.

JI can be wrong about one but he cant be wrong about both...

..or we're going to be in the basement for a long time..

Hope is a good thing. Atleast keeps you positive. Almost like a fantasy land.

  8. If i were Andrew Luck, i would think twice about the Colts.

I mean Colts are doing a complete clean up. Everyone is new from players to coaches to fo. And we dont know if they would work. First time coach. First time GM. Unless he has lots of patience, Red skins appears to be a good team to me at this point. Mike Shanahan is a quality SB winning coach.

  9. I beg to differ....he is absolutely unequivocally unproven post surgery....throwing in a planned session and "playing" real football are completely different. How is he going to be under pressure and in real game settings....I'm not saying it's not worth taking the risk I just don't think they needed to pony up that kind of dough for him.

I am glad you arent an NFL owner ( of course i wont be shocked if you are Jim Irsay )

  10. Agree, that Broncs team is built for the future, not for an immediate run for the SB like the 49ers. I think he made the wrong choice, but lets see how he ends up.

Its not just the team. Its about freedom as well.

Not sure how much leverage Peyton would have had with Jim Harbaugh. And i also find Jim a bit abnoxious. Remember that incident with Lion's coach.

There could be several factors. And Eli is one of them.

And for Peyton's personality its control and freedom which precedes anything. He is not going to sit and listen to someone when he doesnt agree.

  11. If it is true that the 49ers made a solid offer, then this choice makes no sense at all. The 49ers are ready to win it all right now and with PM they would have been instant favorites to do just that. Just makes we wonder if this is not being in the nfc with Eli or more about wanting to be in an easy division in the afc. I truly feel he just missed a big chance at two more rings, wow, the rest of the nfc is breathing a huge sigh of relief.

Freedom on controlling the offense and of course major factor Eli, believe it or not.
