I have heard this too and I have heard this is why they waited to have the surgery until it was completely necessary.

But at the end of the day this is all hearsay.

IMO his situation is worse than most people (especially here) think.

Makes perfect sense , that's why they went out to get a proven QB to take his place lol

I'm surprised how some think the other 31 teams have "starting" QBs at the #2 spot.  Look around the league.  The only teams that have guys we've even heard of is those with suspect #1s really.  Pittsburgh's backups are no better than ours.  I think also we see NE bring guys off the street in it seems and it works.  Newsflash, its the system guys:

i'm not saying we should be satisfied with what we have, but i think the team expected better play from tolzien and morris (not sure why we dont see him more) as they should know the offense fully now.  They both showed signs of being capable last year.  I also think they really thought Luck would be ready.  But i really think the main reason is no QB out there is attractive enuff.  We're not the only team looking.

Morris impresses me more than Tolzien , however I don't see practices so there you have it . Would like to see him with first unit , once

When I think of tanking I think of a team acquiring picks and young players with the intention of having a top pick in the upcoming draft. Being content with a bad present for a great future.

I don't think that is what the Colts did.  They would not have signed Hankins, Sheard, and Simon.

I still say that Pagano was only kept because the Colts couldn't get a proven upgrade. Irsay does not want to roll the dice on a rookie head coach. He wants a Harbaugh, Peyton, Gruden, etc. That is just how I read that situation. I could be wrong.

A lot of NFL contracts are 1-2 year deals. Depends on how they are structured but the type of deals the Colts gave free agents are pretty common. They have been doing that in the past. It's smart regardless if you are in the process of building a good team or already a contender.

Talent can come early in the draft but the important thing is for the team to identify and stay committed to how the team will be built/play. From there you find guys who can be difference makers in your system. I'm not saying that drafting early doesn't help that and there are not benefits to it but I don't think it is nearly as important in the NFL as it is say in the NBA.

Imo Gruden hasn't earned to be in this Group he won a S.B with Dungy's Team lol other than that hes not overly impressive .

Well, if that major portion of the fan base thinks an 8-8 season is acceptable after 6 years of drafting Luck, and actually more beneficial than a 4-12 season, then good riddance to them. Without Luck, and probably even with him, there's very little we can accomplish without another rebuilding year. Maybe a first round playoff exit at best. If we are going to rebuild this team, we might as well do it correctly.

Don't disagree , just be up front and totally honest about it. It wont go well if that's the plan and they are not up front. Most of us are smart enough to figure out if that happens .

  5. I would not suggest tanking , they may loose a major portion of their fan base . People expect more effort and want honesty not smoke and mirrors and rhetoric . You are rebuilding and not trying to compete legit you better be up front and honest. People are not as misinformed as some elites may think.

Play action here we come!!! FINALLY!

Seriously though, the kid looked legit. Not only running, he made a crazy good catch as well.

Different Offense altogether with him in , regardless whos on the other side of ball . Play action yes , because he will make you respect the run . Hes by far the quickest and shiftiest back , without stutter stepping just quick cuts and burst , even seen him run under the defense. Broke some tackles . Whats not to like. Some rated him as the second best overall back in the draft. IMO was a steal. I have been anxious to see him play and I wasn't disappointed . Will give Luck another major weapon and take some pressure off , if the Coaching staff is smart enough to play him. IMO if they would like to keep their jobs they will do just that and let him share with Gore.

With me I am in the middle on defending Chuck. I don't think he's done a Bad job but also have my doubts if he is the Coach that can take us to the SB. Losing to Houston last season at home really upset me and me scratching my head. That basically ended our season.

I'm in the wait and see , hes a D coach , if this defense performs well and theres no way its not better just out of speed and shear athleticism . He needs to leave the Offense to the coordinator and let them make desiscions. Getting a lead then playing conservative will bite you everytime . Just ask the Falcons

I seriously doubt any Coach in the league would've had much more success over the last 2 seasons than Chuck did with our Roster - he was .500. Luck was injured for most of 2015 and was playing injured last season for the most part. We have had very little Running Game (at times Gore has been Good but it's about once every 4 games), Bad O.Line, and a Defense that has been terrible. Hell, Bill Belichick would've had problems with the Rosters we have had over the last 2 seasons. Of course because of the Luck factor we will probably always find a way to go 8-8 at worse but he has to be healthy. I think things look more promising now with Ballard here, on paper the Defense looks much better anyway and that may be good for 2 or 3 wins if Luck is healthy.

I agree possibly 4 without any major injuries .

Because almost any coach could have that record with Andrew Luck and a weak division. Put him on any team in the AFC south in 2012 and they still win at least 10 games. It's evidenced by the constant low rankings of the defense and getting thrashed by elite teams. Grigson deserves some blame but not being able to close out close games and getting blown out is on Pagano. What good coach loses to a Brock Osweiler led Texans with a 14 point lead going into the half?

One with a pourus weak defense full of injured players over the hill slow defenders. No pass rush and not stopping run will do it everytime , if you don't keep scoring.

That may be, but it won't turn out good.    This is Cutler we are talking about.

I've liked what I have seen from Moore.   Not so much with Cutler.   He's only had 3 winning seasons in the NFL.

Yes and a major detriment to team moral and chemistry ! Just ask the Bears , they are still digging out of hole signing him helped put them in . IMO an outright dumb move by the Dolphins.

To those who didn't grow up and have the pleasure of watching Sweetness, that is the man who had it all. Balance, vision, speed, shiftiness, and if he wanted to...he would just run right through you.

Even when you scored a touchdown in Tecmo Bowl that sequence is from Walter Payton. You can see it at the end of the video.

What made Payton so great was his work ethic unrivaled and his philosophy of inflicting the punishment instead of letting the defender leveling the hit.

That game was simply unbelievable, down 35-14 against that Defense with 5 minutes left and win. It was a Monday Night, I was actually at work watching the ending in the break room. The next day on sports talk radio many people had said they went to bed, when they woke up and seen the Colts had won they thought it was an error.

 Only Peyton could pull that off , probably the best D in the league he was going against
