I think he can go both ways... possibly the most versatile DE out there.. I believe Mississippi St ran a 3-4.. but remember we will not be running a standard 3-4, but a hybrid/flex and will also run a 4-3.. Pagano is well known for switching the defense several times a game
I'd say Ingram may be the most versatile but Cox is right there with him and should be a very good fit for a hybrid D

would 1:pm EST be better, cuz 10am EST is 7am for me
I'd be fine with either time but I like 1 EST a lot more...more sleep for me
-
Nope the Patriots are at it again! Except this time they're going after the 12th man...trying to get in our heads!
Seriously though, Superbowl advertisement makes the most sense

Dangit I lost the browns pick I'll do my very best to wake up at 10AM FRI....Hopefully NBA 2K12 or a party don't keep me up to long thursday
same here, 2k12 has kept me up the last couple weeks

Harrison Smith looked excellent and would be a great fit at SS for you. He has more fluid hips than Barron, just saying.
Honestly, I don't like Barron at all, but I'm in the minority.

I'm shopping that no. 2 pick...PM me with offers...will get back to you after I get off of work if I can't right away.
-
Like I said, I would like to get one round done on March 2, 2012 at least. We should be able to do that by the end of the day if we start at 10 a.m. ET on Friday.
You can always PM me the list of picks since you will know where you are picking and who you want. So, you just assign a priority for (say) 5 picks per pick position and PM me those in case you have to leave earlier.
Alright then i'm down

If we stay put at 34 I would want Sanu or maybe Curry
I wouldn't mind moving into the late first round to get Cox though
-
Would love to do this but I have work at 5p.m. for the rest of this week...as long as we could get the draft done by about 4:30 it would work but you might not want to risk that
-
I really like all the picks except Dwight Jones, I just don't like him as much as some other guys projected lower. Also, I don't like that Essex signing at all.
But the only changes I'd make would be to either grab Kendricks in the third if you're set on him, or grab Bradham in the third and in the fourth, I'd want Marvin Jones, Devier Posey, or Marvin Mcnutt in that order.
-
Harrison Smith looked very good today too, my top DB's at 65 are Hayward/Harrison Smith/Minnfield/Bentley.
I'd go Taylor/Iloka in rd 4, Allen in rd 5
Also, Sean Richardson and Robert Blanton are a couple 6-7rd guys(maybe Blanton as safety) I'd be interested in.
-
Looks like I should have checked his projection before posting something on him lol...my mistake. Frrom the games I've seen him in I do like him though, guess I'm a tad bit high on him

Strictly hypothetically speaking here...If PM doesn't check out medically and gets released then more likely than not, Saturday is gone too. I know Pollack is here but I just don't know about him (please convince me otherwise if you feel differently).
I believe Brewster can play guard as well so even if PM and Saturday stays he would fill a need. So I guess my question is, If he slips by the Ravens and out of the 1st, would you take him over Cordy Glenn who I've seen in a few mocks? If yes, Would you still take him if guys like Fletcher Cox and/or Sanu are still there? (I mention Cox only because I think he falls victim to the rise of Dontari Poe).
As a C, I would place him above them all only because OG seems to be somewhat deep and there should be some pretty good NT's to be had in the later rounds.
Please don't make this into a Manning discussion, it's meant to be more of an O-line thread.
-
Just a few people I have above him that could be available at 65...Ta'amu/Casey Hayward/Bradham/Harrison Smith/Dwight Bentley/Brandon Thompson.
-
Kendricks had a great combine and definitely helped himself out but my question is where would you take him?
I'm thinking he turned himself into a late second rounder if a team fell in love with him after his performance today. So would you want him at No. 65? Where would he fit? I'm not saying I want him 100%, I want to see some more of his games just to check him out. I'm a big fan of Vinny Curry and would want either him or Bradham if we go LB in the first three rounds.
As of right now, I'd want kendricks only if he was there by the time we make our first fourth round selection only because I'd rather adress CB/NT/WR first. Thoughts????
-
They replay the combine right after it happens. It starts over around 3 pm central. So yes, it's a little sad and you should have slept.
Yep, definitely feel like an *!
-
Impressive. You could be one of our scouts....
That would be a pretty nice job to have

Well to stay on the cheerleader topic I went to school with two younger sisters of one of the cheerleaders. tbh I really don't know if that cheerleader is still on the team nor do I remember her first name.
-
Is it sad that I'm considering pulling an all-nighter just so I don't sleep past the combine?
If you couldn't tell I get pretty pumped for this stuff and the sad part is that it is only o-lineman and TEs. I'd be able to pull it off rather easily as I don't have to start getting ready for work until about 4p.m. and could probably catch a decent nap in between the combine and then. Even if I didn't nap my work keeps me active enough that i wont be dozing off, well as long as we stay moderately busy.
I just hope I don't pass out when the o-lineman start to run the 40.

It's all speculation, we will find out soon enough. However, I do wish that i were close friends with Jim Irsay only so I could ask him...What are you not telling them?
-
This is exactly what he needed to say.....
.....what he didnt say a month ago.....
I have no doubt that we sign Manning and draft Luck...
There's just no solid reason not to...
Well if Peyton can't make a full recovery (NOT SAYING HE CAN'T JUST IF) I'd ay that would be a solid reason not to sign
-
Would be interesting...we could end up with the QB prospect of the decade and the top DB in the draft for pagano
Maybe our draft would look something like Luck/Claiborne/Floyd
-
well, we can sign him today, lets get this done!
Seriously though, thats very good news. Maybe sitting behind Peyton will help ease the pressure off Andrew, but then that brings up how long he will sit (how long Manning's contract is).

He could be the NT we nab in FA
The Hybridization Of A Defense

Send the WRs deep, Have the TE run the flat or even a quick outside slant keep the FB in pass protection (possibly audible to shotgun for more time if blitz is read pre-snap)
Rucker will know he has top help and stay with the TE leaving two deep one on one situations with Bethea vs one and Powers vs another
It depends on the teams personnel at WR and whether or not the qb will be able to read the play before the snap but it's beatable(on the other hand it's easy to beat a defense if you know what they are running), nonetheless it was fun trying to dissect it. lol
