  1. Coming from NW Indiana, people around here are mostly Bears fans. As a kid, I loved watching football on sundays with my Dad and rooting against his team (Bears), but for some reason the Colts always stood out to me. I guess my true fandom started when I was in the fourth grade (2003), I stayed up to watch the Colts play the Bucs on a monday night. I remember my screams of joy waking up my Mother as I watched the Colts complete their 21 point comeback in the fourth quarter. Easily one of my personal favorite games of all time.

  2. So this guy who had the same problem as Manning, that took two years to come back in his late 20s, and had to re-learn how to throw a football, says in his gut he thinks Peyton will be back and better than ever.

I can see it now..."5 year old girl in downtown Miami has gut feeling that Manning will be better than ever"

I like you guys but you gotta stop taking every little thing and running with it like it's gold.

I think most of us are acting this way due to the way this organization has been run the past several years. Everything was always kept under wraps and info only got out when things were finalized (well, for the most part). Now, with all this attention and "controversy" it's almost like all this useless info is gold or atleast it seems like that to me since I'm not used to it from my team.

  3. Well I would argue that SS should be in consideration too but as for me pesonally, I don't know too much about any safties other than Barron, Harrison Smith, Antonio Allen, and George Iloka (since I'm not a fan of Mark Barron at all I would be ecstatic if we grabbed any of the other three). As far as G's/NT's/CB's go, however, CB is by far the deepest of the three, and can be waited on but it seems as if it is also top heavy and I would like us to go with a corner/safety with our second pick. People on the board have mentioned that there might not be very much of a demand for a NT from other teams in the draft so I'm hoping we can get a steal in the third. Guard is the position I would wait on until maybe the fifth or later if we don't grab one in the second since I would like the fourth to go towards finding another piece for our D.

  4. maybe a couple to add, that both showed up pretty well at the Senior Bowl would be:

Brian Quick - Appalachian State - 6'5" 220lbs - Still Kinda raw, but the tools are there and the size is amazing.

Marvin Jones - Cal - 6'3" 202lbs - had quick feet and showed good route running ability with good hands.

Juron Criner - Arizona - 6'5" 215lbs - Not the fastest guy, but is very physical and has good size with soft hands.

Personally, I would place Jones right up there with Posey and Criner right after Adams. From what I saw and read on Jones so far, I really like him but would really like to see some more.

  5. Your right, I typed in Cole's weight there instead of Jones.

Also a couple CBs I would look at if we get a 4th round comp would be:

    Dwight Bentley La-Lafeyette 5'10" 176lbs

    Casey Hayward Vanderbilt 5'11" 188lbs

    Shaun Prater Iowa 5'10" 185lbs

i know a couple of those guys could go earlier, but if they would fall they could be steals.

Robert Blanton from ND is another one that could be a good pickup if he posts a good 40 time at the combine.

Love all four of those corners and would be ecstatic if we nabbed any of the top three in the fourth. Blanton, however, will probably go in the fifth at the highest.

  6. I reckon that Austin Collie played a full season without missing time. I wouldn't be worried that 'he can't stay healthy'.

Right, what I should have said was his health concerns me because of his 2010 season and his three concussions (forgive me it was three in the morning when i started this). Multiple concussions are nothing to mess with, well supposedly :).

  7. maybe a couple to add, that both showed up pretty well at the Senior Bowl would be:

Brian Quick - Appalachian State - 6'5" 220lbs - Still Kinda raw, but the tools are there and the size is amazing.

Marvin Jones - Cal - 6'3" 202lbs - had quick feet and showed good route running ability with good hands.

Juron Criner - Arizona - 6'5" 215lbs - Not the fastest guy, but is very physical and has good size with soft hands.

I'll take a look at those guys thanks

  8. Regardless of our QB situation it seems as though we could possibly have a whole new recieving corps. I'd like to take a look at our guys along with some free agents and draft prospects for the WR/TE positions.

    Colts

Reggie Wayne - Would love to see him stay but $$$ could be an issue

Pierre Garcon - Most likely re-signed

Gonzo - I am a big fan of his but his health issues are too big of a problem to keep

Jacob Tamme - see Pierre Garcon

That leaves us Collie, White, Clark, and Eldridge. Collie, eventhough I love him, can't seem to stay healthy. I'm a big fan of Blair White...just thought I'd let you know. I've heard talks of cutting or trading Clark but even if Peyton leaves and we go into full-on rebuild mode I would still want Clark as a proven reciever for our QB of the future. However, I would not be entirely opposed to ditching Clark for the right draft pick or picks.

    Free Agents

(only the ones I'm interested in)

Marcus Colston - The Saints will have Brees, Colston, and Nicks to re-sign this year...Brees isn't going anywhere and will be their top priority. imo Nicks should be priority number two...leaving Colston possibly on the outs. Would not mind seeing him in a Colts uni one bit.

Steve Johnson - One of my favorite young recievers in the league. The Bills would be making a big mistake if they let this guy get a way and will likely franchise tag him if a deal can't get done, but nonetheless I thought I'd mention him.

Robert Meachem - If the Saints do happen to sign their big three offensive FAs, I'm not so sure Meachem will stay. He has good hands and plenty of speed and has shown flashes of being a big playmaker. One of his problems is that he seems to be hit or miss from week to week but I believe that comes from the way Brees likes to spread the ball around.

Eric Weems - A very dangerous return man that could possibly give us a spark to our special teams.

Eddie Royal - Another very good returner that had an awesome rookie season but has yet to really produce since then.

Maurice Stovall - I'm a Notre Dame homer...it's kind of bad

John Carlson - see Maurice Stovall

    Rookies

    (going in order of preference)

Mohamed Sanu- This guy is an absolute beast. If he is there at 34 I want him eventhough we should go NT or CB (not a big fan of Barron)

Nick Toon - Has good size and hands would love this pick as along as its in the third round

Tommy Streeter - He would be above Toon if I didn't think we would have to move into the mid to late second round to get him. He has great size and speed, the only thing that I'm unsure of is his hands, which is not exactly the easiest thing to teach

Coby Fleener - My first TE and my last possible second round pick (pre-combine). If we did get rid of Clark I could see us maybe get a mid-late second rounder along with maybe a fourth or fifth round pick. In this scenario Fleener would be ahead of Toon as far as my personal preferences go, but we have other needs at the moment and spending the 34th pick on Fleener would not be in our best interests imo

Marvin Mcnutt - Mcnutt is this high for me basiclly because of where he is projected as of right now. He is 6-3 and runs a 4.52 40 time which is not the fastest but I'll definatley take it given his size and hands.

DeVeir Posey - He is 6-2 209lbs and runs a 4.54 40 and also has very good hands. He was suspended 5 games (maybe more) for taking too much money during a summer job so he didnt play all that much last year leading to his stock falling to the fourth round. I think by the time the draft is here he will be a third round guy and would gladly spend ours on him.

Joe Adams - Has blazing speed and can be a dangerous returner and is projected in the third-fourth range but in order to get him we would likely have to spend our third on him

Jarius Wright - Adams' teamate who also is a speedster but also is a pretty good route runner as well. I would not mind this pick if we can get him with our second fourth rounder

Ryan Broyles - Would have been at the very least a second round prospect if he hadn't had a knee injury in the later part of the year. Now hes projected in the fifth round, the talent is deffinately there but I'm not sure how his knee will affect him.

Let me know if you agree/disagree/think I'm a complete imbecile/think Einstein needs to get on my level/whatever.

  9. he missed the first two games last year, the year before that he was out because of an injury mostly all season, and this year he didnt miss any games, brian kelly reinstated him before the first game. and with the time missed he still broke some all time receiving records in schools history. the only thing i see thats a negative is his speed. he isnt as fast, but he isnt slow. and his size is what made him a threat. notre dame is sure going to miss him next year, just glad eifart stayed. and i agree cierre wood and theo riddick especially theo after Johnas grey went down with a torn ACL.

For whatever reason I think i mixed up last season and this season as far as him missing time. That would kind of explain why I couldn't remember how long he was out. lol

  10. im a notre dame fan too, but i dont get the comment about keeping him in line. he only got in trouble for 2 DUI's wasnt like he was busted for drugs or assault or anything like that. to simple mistakes that happen in the normal life. the kid is still a beast at WR. he lacks the speed but hes a big body to throw too

I agree to an extent, the mistakes were minor but they still hurt his team. I forget how long he was out but ND was nowhere near the same offense without him. Their next best playmakers were Cierre Wood and Theo Riddick.

  11. Actually Rexall, I became a fan of Ta'Amu becaus of what I read about his Senior Bowl practices. I read on one, which I will have to find, that he was showing some suprising pass rush skills.

http://draftcountdow...Senior-Bowl.php In atleast 2 of the 4 North Practice reports he had some praise for Ta'Amu on his pass rush.

I love the picks though, only 2 I would adjust, personally, would be the last two. In the 7th if I am going WR BJ Cunningham is my pick, he doesn't have flashy skills, but he runs good routes and has reliable hands.

For the 6th I had a couple things in mind, first if we do lose either Wheeler or Mathis I like Jake Baquette from Arkansas. He played DE for them and put up pretty good numbers, at the Senior Bowl he played OLB and seemed to pick it up pretty quick and wasn't too bad. The ability to learn there is huge for me, especially if we run hybrid D.

If we want to go CB there I would targe Dwight Bentley from LA-Laffeyette, he showed really good skills at the Senior Bowl and could be a great steal of a CB, if for nothing worse than Nickel packages.

I don't know if he will make it this far, but if we go OL at this spot I would love Ryan Miller OG from Colorado. He has great size and could really help our running game, just not sure if he will last that long.

Im not so sure Bentley will be there in the sixth, but maybe im just high on him after LA-Laffeyette's bowl game and the senior bowl

  12. I would love love love to see this guy play for the colts as long as he straightens up and plays smarter, he could do something similar to what Ndamukong Suh does for the Lions and give us a presence on D. I could see him playing both outside or inside backer and possibly end from time to time should we stick to 4-3 D for our first year or two under Pagano.
