I'm surprised we havn't heard anything about a center at least visiting. We cut Satele and I can't imagine Grigs would just depend on Holmes for next season.
Me either, Grigson surely has to be working on something. I don't think Holmes is the answer at center and I think the Colts don't think he is either. Hopefully we hear something soon. I like the other moves we've made but I have been waiting for the center news all day.

Must be fixed..and he rested those feet....Ballard is not going anywhere IMO unless we re-sign DB...(Random thought as I was reading other posts)
The most important thing is, if we don't fix the O-line...it won't matter who we have running the ball. The Center position must be addressed before anything else.

I like it Balzer...we did not spend a ton of money...did not last year either. I just think his leadership for T-Rich and Ballard are worth it...
Don't get me wrong, I like Bradshaw and think if he could stay healthy he's our best RB, but this most recent injury to his neck is not very comforting, Neck injuries can't be good for a RB's future.
-
May be able to keep him healthy not being the main back. Thought you were 1959 for a sec ;)
I know, I don't like to be pessimistic about it, but you probably know by now that IMO, RB is the most over rated position in football and re-signing one that has had constant feet problems and now coming back from neck surgury, is not really a recipe to stay healthy very long.
-
Overexagerration. 2013 was the only year he missed significant time.
Maybe, but he's coming off a serious neck injury and has had constant feet trouble. Not real promising for a RB. Like I said, he'll probably be IR'ed before week 5.

[Yawn].
I would have rather them saved the money they're paying him(however much it is) and add to the roster for true needs. We'll be lucky if he isn't on IR in the 1st few weeks of the season. He's good when healthy...unfortunately, that's pretty much...NEVER!
-
I'm all for signing Clemons, but I honestly hope the next Colts signing I hear about is for EDS or De La Puente.
-
We didn't really need a guard anyway.
-
We aren't pursuing Decker hopefully or any other WR. Maybe Nicks for a cheap 1 yr. prove it deal, but we don't need a WR. With the money we have left, we need to focus on a center and a safety. Forget about WR's.
-
With your crappy attitude I highly doubt if anyone cares to hear a peep out of you.
Absolutely!!!
-
Grigson has made some pretty nice moves so far; brought in a hybrid DE/NT. Absolutely upgraded our ILB position and got Vontae under contract. We weren't willing to pay Bethea. Not sure if that is a reflection on him or the money he was wanting.
Going to be interesting to see what else we do via Free Agency and the Draft.
Center is definitely a major need.
Safety is a need.
Guard IMO is a need.
I'm pumped!!
I agree with everything but guard as a need. Center...without doubt, Safety...without doubt...Yes to both, but guard will be fine IMO. We can always bring in a cheap option to compete for a backup spot, but I think Thornton and Thomas are locked in as starters.
-
Asinine signing. This, along with Moala, and Vinatieri... I have lost all respect for Grigson
OMG!!! You are so freaking annoying with all your pessimistic crap. Why do you even follow the Colts? You literally whine and complain about everything they do. You need to go to the hospital and get that stick surgically removed from your sphincter, maybe that and a few midol will help your terrible attitude.
-
Ha, looks like Jacksonville is finally serious about trying to improve.
-
If we can land a good center, I'll be happy if we don't do anything else major.
-
Not crazy about this if the price is too high.
Why??? Who else would we get that fits so nicely into our scheme and wouldn't cost as much if not more than Davis. This is a great move, I don't care what we paid him.
-
Mike Chappell said ESPN reporting we are getting Davis back?
Good good good news! At least we don't need to worry about that, now please please please find a center.
-
I was hoping we would bring him back.
-
I'm kind of glad. Of course I'll be more glad if we can get someone better here to replace him. If Davis goes too, Grigs has a lot of work ahead of him. Safety, CB, and especially center have to be must gets as soon as possible. We can't sit back and let all the top guys go elsewhere.
-
I hope the next signing is for a center.
-
Polian should just shut the hell up when it comes to free agency.
-
Me too....on DRC...I also agree on Verner not being a press coverage option.
+1
-
Yes to some extent but I dont think Jones would be used as that player to spell Redding. More or less matthews would be used in that case
Matthews probably will not be back. IMO Jones will start with RJF as the DE's. It doesn't matter a whole lot because they rotate so much but at this point in their respective career's, Jones should be starting over Redding.
-
I doubt this is true, and honestly I hope it isn't. Verner isn't a press man cover guy. He's too small to be our #1 CB if Davis does indeed leave. I'd rather sign DRC than Verner although I have reservations about DRC too.
-
I hope they don't reach an agreement. He's not worth bringing back because he'll be IR'ed before week 5.
Charlie Casserly just said we should eat the Richardson deal and get CJ2k

As much as I hated the Richardson trade, what Casserly said was just stupid. CJ has sucked since he got paid.
