Get this WR crap out of her we got to fix alot of holes in the D and O line. Just draft one if they are that damn set on a WR.
I agree!
-
Nothing personal but no, no, and he|| no!
Exactly! God, the obsession for WR's here is frustrating as hell.
-
Yeah I'm hoping we don't take snaps from RJF I like him think he will be good out there with jones
I have no idea how, but I'm all out of likes and haven't used a single one since yesterday afternoon so I guess I have to resort the the old +1 tactic.
I'm with you balzer. Jones on one side with RJF on the other. Will keep redding more fresh and rested and cut down wear and tear and injuries. Plus gives us more freedom to switch between 3/4 & 4/3
+1
-
Yes I agree with you Gavin no way they allow redding snaps to be limited. Jones is a starter.
Yes...yes they will! He's not getting younger and it's noticeable.
-
Meh, If Jones is signed it likely just means Matthews days are numbered(doubt he makes it out of TC on the roster) and my guess is Ricky Jean Francois will be the one behind Jones in my opinion
We'll see, but I doubt it. RJF is a good player despite what some here think. I'm sure Jones will take some of RJF's snaps but the majority will be in Redding's place IMO. Redding has been a little injury prone and is aging quickly, I noticed a pretty big difference from 2012 to 2013 in his play and when players his age have such a noticeable drop off in play that quickly...it's keeps going downhill fairly fast.
-
It wouldn't have bothered me at all if Adam would have went elsewhere but since he's staying...good for him. I just hope we didn't pay him an outrageous amount based on his past history. Anything over 2.5 mil is too much IMO.
-
I like Jones and think he'll be a good pick up. He will take snaps away from Redding and thats fine because Redding was beginning to show his age last season.

I'd bet just about anything that another team will offer more money than we can. We have too many other area's to upgrade and fill to shell out over 1/3 of our money on a freakin CB. He won't be a Colt unless for some reason he'd take way less money to come here and that won't happen either despite what some fans think, players aren't going to turn down a bunch more money to come here.
-
They only have to spend 89% over a 4 yr. period. So in essence, they could literally spend 10 % of their cap for the next 2 yrs. and then in 2016 spend whatever it would take to get to that 89% cap. Since we don't know what the cap will be over the next 3 seasons that number could be huge.
-
Rex just had the best CB in the league in Revis so he knows what it takes for a CB to get to that level. If the Jets are willing to pay 9-10 mil for Davis then they know how great a talent he is and what he can become with a great d-line. I wouldn't be surprised at all if Davis is a top 3 CB next year under Rex. I've been one of many Grigson supporters since the beginning but if he lets Davis go to the Jets it would be the biggest mistake he's ever made. Yes, even worse then the DHB signing because losing Davis will have an impact on our wins and loses, he's that valuable to the defensive scheme.
Losing Davis will hurt but depending on what he's asking for we don't know that it would be a big mistake. It would also be a big mistake to pay Davis way more than he's worth. BTW, DHB was a mistake but not a big one at all. He cost very little and had no long term implications. To date, Richardson has been the biggest mistake. Losing our 1st rd. pick for literally no production has by far been Grigsons biggest blunder until Richardson does something to make him worth what we gave up.
-
btw your picture is funny not really relevant but still...
It fits me well. Many times I feel like beating my head on the floor till it explodes but then I just get over it and move on.
-
Definitely an option for us if he is released like Adam Schefter says
He better be willing to take much less money, but I think he'll go to the Raiders since they are like a bagillion dollars under the cap.
-
good argument i do think interior o line d line and now apparently cornerback even more than usual are our biggest needs but all three as well as wide receiver are in high demand so i feel like we need to go for the best of the available talent now to upgrade the team as a whole
I ran out of likes so I'll just give ya a +1.
-
God I hope this doesn't happen. Throwing money at Decker is a gigantic mistake. This would be a Polian type of move. Sign a mediocre skill player for way too much money and not be able to sign better players at area's that are a true need.
-
i disagree i believe we need a proven talent to follow wayne we dont need MORE young wide receivers who need to develop to play at this level im all for getting one like donte moncrief in the 3rd i would be fine with that but bringing in one now would help us
I know most Colts fans are obsessed with adding more WR's but I'm not one of them. IMO were fine with who we have right now. Next yr. Then yes...we need to put more emphasis on finding a WR but in order to really make a huge leap this yr. then the main focus in free agency should be on the trenches and with the possible departure of Davis and Bethea CB and Safety are way more important than WR. To be throwing even 5 or 6 mil. at a WR is IMO counterintuitive.
-
just curious dustin on what kind of deal you would give sanders nicks and decker? WR is difficult for me to estimate
Sanders - 0 yrs. For 0$
Nicks - 0 yrs. For 0$
Decker - 0 yrs. For 0$
If we actually sign a WR(which I really don't think we need to, this yrs. draft is loaded with them) we should just sign Nicks for as low as possible.

Just to give all you Cromartie enthusiasts out there some perspective, his PFF grade for 2013 was -12.0, ranking him as the 5th worst FA CB, and significantly worse than Cassius Vaughn, who grades out with a -3.7. Some people may not take PFF as the be-all-end-all, but they aren't that off. Cromartie was literally awful.
Yes he was, not to mention he's lazy and dumb. I don't know why anybody would want us to sign him.
-
Munnerlyn is a zone corner no?
Exactly, but I'd still take him over Cromartie. Cromartie only shows up sometimes and is dumb as a brick. If we did end up signing him, I'd do my best to support him, but it would be difficult. I really can't stand the guy.
-
Yeah, it will be Arthur Jones. Followed by Antonio Cromartie and Brian De La Puente.
Ok with Jones and De La Puente, absolutely a BIG, HUGE NOOOOO to Cromartie. I'd take Captain Munnerlyn over Cromartie.
-
They had about $10 million before letting a Rogers walk.
They have to cap to land Davis..
Yes, but then they have about nothing to re-sign Whitner and a few others. Not to mention their draft picks and Kap wanting a huge deal in the near future. Signing Davis and letting Whitner and a few others walk does nothing but make them worse. San Fran is too smart IMO to do that. We'll see, but I don't think it's San Fran.
-
Revis is a star and a better player tgan Vontae. As long as his cap hit isn't 16mil, who cares how much Irsay pays him?
You still haven't answered the question someone else asked...why would Revis restructure? And please don't tell me because Indy is the magical fantasyland that every player longs to play for because were such a classy organization. Point is, he's gonna make his 16 mil per yr. and he has no reason whatsoever to restructure.
-
and pay his 16 million a year, no thanks
Exactly!!! Frankly, I wouldn't take Revis if Tampa just gave him to us. That price tag is stupid and would keep us from building a legit "team".
-
They can figure out the cap structure to make him fit, if they want. They are $10m under the cap now, before the Rogers release goes through. That will save them another $5m, which they could easily earmark for Davis.
Yeah, but they have Whitner to re-sign and a few others I can't imagine they want to walk away. If they had to pay Davis 10 mil. I don't see how they can make it work for them. Well, I'm sure there are ways of doing it, but San Fran seems like to smart of a team to really hamstring themselves in cap hell for a player like Davis, especially since Kap is talking about getting a mega deal soon.
-
What exactly could our backup plan even be, there are no good cornerbacks left on the market. What are we gonna do, draft someone capable of making a corps of Toler and Gordy good? Not happening.
Actually they could choose from a couple different CB's left. They may not be as good, but if we really built up our D-line and upgraded the FS position, I have no doubt that our secondary could still be good enough. Sure I would love to keep Davis but if he's wanting stupid money and some team is willing to give it to him, then we have to use his money to upgrade other positions.

How did this happen? Free agency hasn't started yet.
