I have a very hard time seeing them trade him for just a 3rd

I 100% agree BUT the article reads:

I think it would definitely interest the Seahawks if the Colts were to float an offer to send their 3rd and 4th round picks in exchange for Wagner and the Seahawks 4th rounder. Losing their 3rd round pick is not ideal, but finding an All-Pro talent there is likely a shot in the dark, and moving back from pick 100 to 116 in the 4th round would not sting too badly in a draft that is said to be deep in the middle.

If this trade was an option, we would be dumb not to do it.

I'm looking at Minnesota, Eagles and Jags and imagining how far Luck could go with these defenses (1st, 2nd, 4th ranked) if Keenum/Bortles/Foles-Wentz can get this far.

Jags have Fournette/ Eagles have Ajayi/ Vikings have Murray and McKinnon

They have great defenses but also a running game opposing teams fear.  We need both.

    No.

We need more draft picks, not less.

So you would rather have a 3rd round pick than Bobby Wagner?  lol

Didn't we do that for Trent Richardson? Now THAT didn't work out....

The Colts drafted: TJ Green 2nd, D'Joun Smith 3rd, Werner 1st, Hugh Thornton 3rd, Dwayne Allen 3rd, Fleener 2nd, Ben Ijalana 2nd, Drake Nevis 3rd, Kevin Thomas 3rd, Jerry Hughes 1st, Fili Moala 2nd, Donald Brown 1st, Tony Ugoh 2nd, Daymeion Hughes 3rd, Quinn Pitcock 3rd, Vincent Burns 3rd.......  Now THOSE didn't work out.

If every player on that list was 23 years old, I would still trade the entire group for Bobby Wagner.

I think it would probably take much more than a 3rd to get Wagner, but those saying we need draft picks and would turn down a trade offer of Wagner for our 3rd round pick are absolutely insane

Jimmy G could have made us a playoff team, as a poster told you above.

PS Oh swell, you have a higher reputation. We'll, I gave up weed years ago so it's not really a contest.

If he had gotyen garoplo we might be a playoff team

    1.  I don't think we would have made the playoffs even with JG but maybe, just maybe lol

    2.  I still 100% believe Andrew Luck is our man at QB and will have his best career season next year.  It would not make sense to heavily invest cap space in 2 QBs.  Not to mention the 1st rounder and more it would have taken to get him in the off season

  6. 3 minutes ago, azcolt said:

No one saw a playoff team without Luck, but does that mean the GM was right to sit on his thumbs all Summer? Even if he had traded for Brissett in the Summer, we'd have had a chance of a winning record. PS Like you are the expert on the quality of posts.

Ok... who should ballard have added to the roster to be the starting QB this year?   Let me know who we could have signed/traded for that would have the Colts in a better position than they are right now.

PS: I have higher reputation than you.  therefore i hold higher rank on the quality post experts list.  sorry

  7. 30 minutes ago, azcolt said:

All that matters is that they are old buddies of our GM, the same guy who was sleep walking all last Summer instead of finding a competent backup QB. Then watch him pass over all best available QBs in the 2018 draft as we prepare for another season with a badly damaged QB.

Any team with a good enough backup qb that your team is the same when he starts.... doesnt have a good enough starting QB.

There was absolutely no one that Ballard could have signed or drafted that could have made the Colts a playoff team.

PS:  You are in the lead for the worst post of 2018

What if Browns bring in alex smith and the Giants work it out with aeli and draft goes Browns (1) :Barkeley or Chubb and Giants go (2) Barkeley or Chubb?

This could realistically happen.  Everyone is assuming Barkeley or Chubb will be there at 3 but I have been thinking what if they are both gone also.   What do we do then?   Trade down because someone will want the top QB before Cleveland picks at 4?

I've never said he has done anything i said he hasnt done nothing

I was messing with you but since you haven't caught on i will help you.

If he has not done nothing, then he has done something.  What you mean to say is "He HAS done nothing" or "He hasn't done anything".

You are trying to talk so negatively about his play that you accidentally went double negative and made it positive.  lol

Is that why marcus hunt as a backup has been more consistent then him thats sad really henry anderson cant provide a consistent pass rush when we need it

You're the one who said Henry Anderson has done something.   :hat:

  11. Seems like he is depressed.  He is a good at pressers and dealing with people so he covers it up well... but he seems sad.  Going from being the top pick and considered the greatest prospect since Elway, then his career going the way it has the last few seasons can do that to ya.  He appears to need football as much as the Colts need him.

I have all the faith in the world that Andrew Luck will be comeback player of the year and in the hunt for MVP next year.  He is going to come back more determined than ever.

The media has seemed to universally hate the Trent Richardson trade since it happened. Has anyone ever heard any NFL analysts say the Colts made a good deicsion by trading a first round pick for a huge draft bust?

I am guessing I am not alone here and have to admit....  When I saw we traded for TRich I was beyond excited.  I called or texted ever Colts fan I knew.  I do not remember 1 single person on those calls, in the media. or on this message board thinking we had made a mistake....

Agreed although I would replace Barkley with OT Connor Williams. Ballard needs a bunch a picks to work with in the draft so getting a top pick to trade for a haul wouldn't be the worst thing for the future of this franchise to speed up the rebuild.

    agreed.

We need a T, G, WR, TE, CB x2, OLB, DE, DT, and ILB.   Then we will be sitting pretty

Media is biased towards the little guy and generally hateful of anybody in charge or at the top.  Combine that bias with the constant defense of people they have praised or marketed in the past, and you have comments that generally don't reflect reality.

The roster isn't bad now, and it never has been.  Not championship, never was, but not worst in the NFL either.

Actually... without Luck, Kelly, or Vontae.... we really might be the worst roster in the NFL.  Definitely bottom 5.

    QB  LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL

RB Gore/Mack  one of our better positions

FB  I dont think we have one

WR Hilton/Moncreif  Not too many teams are scared of that duo

TE Doyle  I like him but he is no world beater

OLINE  Costanzo, Mewhort, Some dude, Good, Some other dude.  We are in the bottom 5 in the nfl for overall Oline

DLINE  Not a single player that teams have to even consider double teaming.

LB  Simon is very good.  He may be the only piece to the puzzle we have found at LB

CB Melvin and Green.   We have struggled to find a CB capable of covering an opposing teams #2 WR.  With vontae out, we now have no one to cover the #1, #2, or #3 wr.

FS  Butler/Hooker      I want to think hooker is a piece of the puzzle in place, but I did not even notice him in the game Sunday.    I will contribute that to him have absolutely no help in the secondary

SS  Farley   Really?  like....for real?   We have Butler who has always been a CB, Green who has always been a S, and Hooker a 1st round pick at Safety.   And we go with Butler( a CB) and Farley as starting safeties, and Green (a S) starts at CB.  and our top playmaker rookie starts on the bench.

Especially without our 3 most important players.............we are a bottom 3 roster.

We do not have a threat to the opposing team anywhere on offense, nor do we have an ounce of a threat of pass rush or playmaker on defense.

Ok.... so after all the frustration of what players we put on the field, we still managed to hit Marlon Mack on a nice screen pass where he makes a catch, turns and sprints passed a man, makes another miss, steps across the pylon while extending the ball across the goaline.  TD!!!!! oh wait, the ref called him out of bounds.  Lets check the replay.  He appears to be clearly in for the TD to everyone watching and the announcers.  I am sure Chuck will challenge the play.  Woohoo easy call for a touchdo....WHAT!!! THE COLTS HURRIED TO THE LINE AND SNAPPED THE BALL AS FAST AS POSSIBLE!!!!  What in the actual **** just happened?  So we field a **** roster, and still manage to have a rookie shine, and our coaching staff ****s it up.

    Ok.  I am done.

I also had him on my bench:Cry:However I had Tyreek Hill as my flex player so I got 26.8 points.  The Chiefs looked really good I think they will win the AFC West.

Losing Berry for the year is going to hurt their defense.  Also, I am not sure if KC offense was that good, I think the Pats defense was just THAT bad

Oh my, another internet tough guy. How much can you bench press using internet pounds?

come on man.  just stop.  I was just trying to have an adult conversation and debate a topic with you.  You went with all the cliche troll responses in this thread:  i live in the past, i only think my team will win because it's my team, tried to make fun of the word "tactical" even though I said "factual", then told me you are right because you said so, trying to mock me for saying "dude", said to post you in January lol, then called me an internet tough guy for shutting down your lame non supported comments left and right....   you seem like you need a hug,  or the regular season to start

Let's settle this by writing down how many professional authorities agree with me after preseason is done versus my desperate opponents clinging to  dream that will not come true in 2018. Not one sane person will pick the Colts over the Titans. I don't like it but it is what it is. I don't care for Floyd Mayweather but my money would be on him because we will win. Why? Because it is what it is. When a horse goes lame they shoot them.

ok, now i get your thinking.  You heard the guys on ESPN talking up the Titans so you jumped ship and climbed on the band wagon.  You do realize that teams like the Titans and Jags win the off-season every single year right???  it wouldn't be much of a story to say the opposite
