Take a knee every time it's in the end-zone would put the return average at tied for 10th best in the league. If I were coach, I would dictate to stop dicking around and just take a knee. Odds are you will be starting with well above average as compared to the norm. Seems silly to me to bother with returns from the end-zone when statistically you have a 68.75% probability of not getting it out to the 25 yard line ... and you run the risks of more injuries during the likely failed attempt.
That also frees up a roster spot and lessens injury risks. Anybody can go back there, secure the ball, and take a knee. Every now and then, when the ball is kicked short, of course run it back.

That's always been possible. It was more possible that Peyton was done following his injury.

i dont put much stock in draft picks fixing things. look at last years draft
first round pick- on IR, has missed a ton of time since hes been here with injuries, may not be durable enough for the league
second round pick- trouble getting active on game day. back up corners have to play special teams on this roster
third round- invisible until last week
4th- banner- no longer here
mack- good pick
hairstone- jag
walker- same
Fixing things as rookies? Not likely. Fixing things in year 3? Much more likely.

Way too soon to tell

A Mack Attack nearly 100 yards should warrant him playing all four quarters of every game especially when you look at the alternative RBs. I never saw what others see in Turbin.
Turbin laid out a good block for Brissett's touchdown.

Have the ability to stop the clock with just over a minute before the 4th down. But no, let the clock run down to 24 seconds.
Every damn week. Unbelievable.
I couldn't believe that.

Clark was funny how he'd have some terrible drops, but would always catch it if it were an important time of the game.
He had a lot of drops that were frustrating, and really made me question why he refused to wear gloves. Obviously, was his preference, but hard to understand.

Actually, those who say this is ridiculous haven't heard the offers. It's like Lloyd's of Londons says about insurance policies they write. To paraphrase, "there are no bad risks, only bad rates".
-
He's done well, so far. Now, can he execute onside kicks like Pat could?
-
Interesting that we used only 2 defensive linemen on most plays.

I listen to Venturi religiously. I know he's old, but I often wonder if he would have a shot to coach the Colts again. He's so very experienced and knowledgable and seems to have gotten a lot out of his time with Belichick.
I also wonder if the Colts staff ever listens to his shows. I thought I heard Pagano once use a particular speech pattern that Venturi uses.

Father time.

I predict Brisett starts the second half of the Ram's game. Pagan doesn't want to lose another opener.
Quite possibly, but only if the Colts are behind.

You need smarter friends.

He didn't do too bad.

Morris is better than tolzien
Maybe so, but Tolzien is not PS eligible. Morris is, as far as I know.

Could be. I'm thinking possibly Schwenke though as a somewhat surprise cut.I might have guessed Clark, except for the heavy balance of guards that leaves.

Someone from the OL is going. We aren't going to keep 11 there.

That's a big RB.

If I missed it my apologies, anyone surprised David Parry getting cut? I think he was a long shot to begin with then the off-field issues...
Not sure how all this works, but is he gone or just to the practice squad for now?
I'm not surprised he was cut. The off field issues didn't help him, but more importantly, he had trouble getting off of blocks, at least last year. What will surprise me is if he makes the PS. We'll know soon.
-
I didn't see the whole game, but the sideline pass from Morris for the big gainer that was fumbled out of bounds was caused by a terrific tackle.
-
Morris. Love the way he releases the ball.
-
Not if we have our eyes on the next few years.
-
Play Tolzien the 1rst and 4th quarters. Play Morris the 2nd and 3rd quarters. Play the other starters 2 to 3 quarters. Walker should sit this game out.

Why 24 instead of 29, or why did he take 29 with the Colts when 24 is available?
