  1. I haven't been paying attention to LSU much this year even though I'm definitely going to watch the championship game. Is Claiborne the real deal??????????? Is he a shut down Revis style corner with potential to be AS good in the NFL? Or would he be more like Samuel?

If he didn't have that potential he wouldn't be touted as a top 5 pick

  2. Nope he's not lonely at all all true fans that wants what's best for our team now... Not 4 years from now are right up there with him shaking our head in complete disbelief that any player who hasn't even taken one single NFL snap is being thought of as a HOF'er... I've never taken an NFL snap does that make me a sure vote for a HOF'er? FO will NOT trade pick accept that... What's worse going 3-13 this year and getting to USE a first round pick next year, or going 2-14 and NOT getting to use a first round pick for 4 years??? After this season...

Our team needs help NOW, Luck provides NO help for 3 or 4 years... Then we get him for what 5 or 6 years? Sorry how does that help the team... If you can explain that I will listen

    How's the view up there?

  3. It all depends on whether we still get the number 1 pick. If we do and draft Luck then there's no need for Orlovsky - however if we don't then definitely sign him on, he's definitely a good enough number 2. He's clearly improved miles since that 08 Lions season - we saw last night how much better he copes under pressure now. Happy to have him as a backup, just not as a number 3.

  4. I understand where Jaric, SilentHill and others are coming from and don't think it makes them any less of a Colts fan for expressing honestly how they feel. I want the first pick too but don't want the Colts to lie down for it and personally I can't actively root against the Colts. Pulling hard for Vikes and Ram wins though. Vikes have decent shot against Skins because Washington is a Jeckyl and Hyde team. Rams concern me a bit.

Anyone who thinks it makes people less of a Colts fan are looking at it the wrong way. People can disagree with it but there's no need for the "You're not a real fan. I am" high horse.

And also, there's a huge difference between pick one and two when pick one is Andrew Luck.

  5. Luck could easily fall to 2 or 3.

2 much more likely than 3. Vikes and Rams both have very young, good QBs, and both have other needs. If the Rams get the number 1 pick and Colts have number 2, Rams will pick OL and Colts will pick Luck.

Sadly that would be too easy - I'm 100% sure they'd trade it away.

OP: Several people (SilentHill in particular) were flamed very strongly for saying that, but I agree entirely. However priorities straight - first thing to do is cheer your heart out for Vikings, Rams and 49ers (so they rest starters vs Rams week 17) tomorrow.

  6. pull louder for the 49ers to lock up their playoff sedding this week and have Harbaugh sit his starters so the Rams can win that last game. Still I like that attitude I'd like to have my cake and eat it two, have the Colts win out and have the Rams and Vikings win and give us the pick that way :)

An ideal scenario isn't it? Number one pick and nobody has to deal with the conflict of hoping we lose. Cheering Rams, Vikings and 49ers this weekend sounds fun - I like 49ers anyway. Let's hope for a guilt free trip to the number one pick.

  7. Colts have been a terrible road team. It will be loud and crazy in Jville for the last game of the season and the Jags won't lay down on us. Texans technically played better ball today, Yates and Foster played well, but they had extreme penalties that could be attributed to the lose. The Jags will play us tough...

This is exactly it - penalties (some very soft ones at that) won us the game today.

  8. 'He's unproven.' Says it all in a nutshell. I'm not saying he's a bust already, but people are acting like he's a sure thing - just like they did with Leaf and how did that turn out?

As long as Peyton is playing why waste an opportunity to rebuild the TEAM by filling one POSITION with an 'unproven' player who may sit on the sidelines collecting dust for years to come?

Rodgers sat on the sideline and "collected dust". How did that turn out?

Looking at it another way, if you're going to say that we need to strengthen several other positions before we do QB - a very valid view - would having the number one pick go even further to enhance that? Think of the trade bounty you'd get for Andrew Luck!!

  9. Personally, I'm far more disgusted at the thought of someone who claims to be a Colts fan hoping their team loses for any reason. I can understand wanting that draft pick, but not actively rooting against your team to get it.

No, I don't want Leaf - excuse me - Luck. I see no reason to waste an opportunity to make the whole team better to pick up an untested rookie QB to play backup for Peyton. I would much rather they trade for more draft picks to build up the defense, o-line, etc. and maybe pick up another QB in a later round.

Yes, that means the 1st draft pick is important, but I'll take a win over a loss any day.

Most people can accept both views. The point is that in not caring about a meaningless game, we have a chance to enhance our future by picking one of the most exciting prospects in a long time. I have this view and also respect the view of never wanting to see your team lose - as do a lot of people, and a lot of people have that other view but understand the other way.

He's unproven so calling him a bust already is further evidence of your opinion only.

  10. I root for my team win or lose. I'm guessing you didn't mean that the way it sounded or the way I interperped it.

If this is to me of course I'm not stopping rooting for Colts - if we went 0-16 ten seasons running I'd still be a Colts fan. I'm just saying that rooting for a loss today is, in my mind, better for the team's future. I'm not saying "lol if we do ^chiz^ I don't support them any more".

  11. If he doesn't want to be here then he can leave. Frees up a fair bit of cap space I'd imagine, and if Garcon can keep his form up, Clark can rediscover fitness and Collie can get over his problems, plus a decent WR in the draft, a decent QB (be it Luck or Manning, different issue) will have no problems with them. Reggie will go down a Colts legend but it may be time up. Wish we traded him at the start of the year when he still had trade value but we weren't to know our season would go this way.

  12. I agree with Luck being brighter prospect than the above. However, Pennington went Rd 1 #18 and Matty Ice was Rd. 1 3rd overall pick. The others were indeed #1. {I've been doing some research on QB's, rounds and success. My first post from my digging is above}

Yeahh I was just pointing out that I didn't think I was overhyping him by saying he was the biggest prospect since Peyton! Your findings are very interesting though - even though it's too soon to tell, Stafford has been under centre for the dramatic turn away from an 0-16 team so clearly has talent, Bradford is doing okay with an awful team around him and Newton has been very very good considering how week his team is, so none of the three are looking like busts.
