Sort of like Luck?
Can you let it go? It seems every thread you criticise him despite the fact he's clearly a very good player.
-
Colts fan, not a Manning fan. I'll support whatever decision they make because the decision will be made in the best interests of the team.
-
All of Stanford WR r slow. They don't have a big time wideout
That's my point. Blackmon is so, so much better than every Stanford receiver that Weeden's numbers are skewered because of it. Luck gets amazing numbers with basically nobody to throw to.
-
Yeah, and Weeden had 399 yards, 3 TD, and 1 pick against a much better defense than Luck was facing. So, in what way did Luck look better?
Tell me one Stanford receiver that compares even slightly to Blackmon.
-
Plus Luck is doing that without any good WR's! It's mainly just TE's he's been throwing to all year. Imagine if he had a burner at WR that can get open.
Very true. I was impressed with Owusu as a deep threat but obviously injury problems have messed him up.
-
What does that mean? Tomy Brady had a great completion percentage last year... his offense was horizontal dink and dunk not down the field... stats can sometimes be misleading..
So what's your argument here? That Andrew Luck is just as bad as Tom Brady? God forbid we end up drafting someone equal to Tom Brady!
I'm sorry but most people in football have said he had an amazing game. 27/31 and 347 yards is good whatever way you look at it. I don't see how you can say otherwise.
-
I watched the game, what was I suppose to be in amaze of? It isn't the first game I saw of Luck and wasn't impressed, it won't be the last. No I don't think RGIII is a STUD.. I think Brock Osweiler coming out in a year or two is a STUD! Nothing Luck does jumps out at me as spectacular. You can be impressed all you want, cause I wasn't.
How can you not be impressed with 27/31? What more do you want?
-
There's no real question to it. I don't know why media outlets are trying to hint at RG3 being better when they'll get plenty of stories out of Luck v Manning

Think about it again..
I think the chance that he cant ever play again..has passed...His neck did heal and solidify within the 3-month period the surgert suggested...
(If he's telling us the truth)
We dont know how good he'll be but we cant know until August...
..........there is no reason to assume he wont get that chance...
He cant be traded with a $28 mil tab....and he wont be released if there a chance he'll return to form...
We wont know until August
Don't get me wrong, the last thing I want to do is get rid of him. I just think it's certainly not a given that we'll be seeing him taking snaps next season. He probably will be, but even so there's no sure way of knowing he's going to still be fine. A lot of people think that this surgery has a 100% chance of healing him up and making him stronger than ever even though Irsay has said himself in the last couple of days that he's still uncertain on Manning's future. Rest assured I want him to get better just as much as every other Colts fan.

Colts 12-4
Texans 10-6
Titans 7-9
Jags 6-10, Del Rio gets fired
That was my REALISTIC analyst.
This was pretty impressive, only a couple off on each one! Ignoring Colts which was unpredictable
-
We shouldn't bother with an OC. Just get Manning to do it.
-
I am one of the most pro-Luck guys around but I'd take Manning 100% of the time over him. I don't know what would be better for the future of this franchise and if I got my way we would carry both but if it was one or the other it's always #18 over #12.
To be fair, they should make me head coach. I'd stick both Manning and Luck on the field standing behind Jeff, keep it a secret who we're gonna snap it to
-
So you think Manning's lying about his progress and his throwing>?
Not necessarily. I'm saying there's no way to know just how well he's progressing and whether he'll ever be back to 100% fitness because there's a lot to his recovery that we don't know or understand. I'm saying don't take anything for given in a recovery from a surgery this big.
-
Comments like this make me wonder if there isn't something they know about Manning's injury/recovery that they're not letting everyone in on.
Of course there is. Most people on here think "Oh yeah major reconstructive surgery to the back and spinal area, he'll come back stronger than ever!!!" Possibly, but probably not. Surgery that massive is going to have an impact on the rest of his career and probably the rest of his life. I'd be very surprised if his recovery was going perfectly to plan.
-
I hope Irsay wants to sit Luck but I get the feeling that was Polian's plan and Irsay didn't like it for financial reasons. Hoping I'm wrong.
-
Nobody else has had to sit because this is a very unique situation. The reason we are in this position is 100% down to Peyton's injury, most teams in the number 1 pick slot don't have anyone for the first pick to sit behind. Newton was never going to sit behind Clausen.
-
I'd much rather he retire than join another team... if he leaves it better be because he can't play rather than won't.
-
I would wager that this was in the works well before we started talking about it at length. He simply allowed the guys to finish the season, instead of making knee-jerk decisions. This is what the off-season is for.
Well, yeah. If this decision is made one day after the season then it's ridiculously impulsive, of course he's been considering it for a while.

1949 was the year of the gold rush in california
Hoping this was a typo? It's 1849

this video is from July 11th, 2011. We didnt even know Peyton was gonna miss the season and we would get the #1 overall pick...lol
That wasn't the point of the video.
He's right - the point was proving that they had a good relationship and have worked together happily before, backing up ConBro's post from earlier.
-
How can it be transitioning away from accurate intelligent passers??
-
There are 2 schools of thought....
Its not so much him. We're 2-14 and about to be drafting a player who..in our best case plans..wont play a down next year...
How silly is that?
Not very if you consider the circumstances. On the surface it seems absurd but if Manning returns to full fitness it changes this season's team completely.
I read that Peyton has been talking to Luck throughout this season, congratulating him on his successes. Also, Luck has attended Manning's Passing Academy for years now, and is even a camp counselor. THey know each other pretty well, considering.
Indeed - this video (
) shows a little insight to their relationship. -
Thanks for the link and pointing out the tabs, I missed that the first time I went to the page. Some interesting stuff, learned alot about what the scouts look for and he seems to excel at pretty much all of them. It also explains why me and probably alot of other people aren't impressed with him at first look, his arm strength.
I missed them the first time too, hence "might be better" - of course it's better. But I hope that page has given you more confidence into why he's so highly rated!
-
Has he declared for the draft yet? Has he passed the point of no return in terms of playing his Senior season at Stanford?
Basically.
"I thought it was pretty formal or understood when I came back for my final year, so I have no clue if I'll make a formal announcement or not."
"I think I'm going to hopefully play professional football if a team will have me."

Are you trying to say Luck and Keenum are on the same level? Similar numbers, both played, you say, against bad Ds... What do you think?
