  1. I am already rocking a full beard and stache.

I shaved the beard, left the stache for a day and was told I looked like a 70's porn star, a relief  pitcher, and a nascar driver.

Decided clean shaven or full beard is the only look for me.

Honestly, I don’t think any of us knows how good Pitt really is?    I think Pitt was badly impacted last year by our disastrous offense.   He went from 22.3 YPC, down to 9.3.   He lost 3 yards per catch.   That’s not normal.   I don’t know how he’ll do this year,  I’m just saying Pitt might be better than anyone even knows.

One thing I noticed last year.

Ryan"s timing with Pitt stunk. He threw  a lot of passes that the defender in the trail position could get a hand on, If he had lead him more, it looked like an easy completion.

Was this just me, or did anyone else see this?

Btw, I never mentioned anything about killing or beating anyone to the punch. Not sure why you think I said that and maybe why it doesn’t make sense to you.   I said if he didn’t want to do it or hated his job he had the option to quit.  You are answering why he didn’t. Is what it is. Doesn’t mean it’s fair bc it doesn’t look that way…but it’s business.

I get what you are saying,

I work in sales for a locally owned business, so  I get what  you are saying. As long as I generate plenty of profit for them they can afford to keep the doors open and pay me (to put it simply) I get to keep my job.

Guess they thought Bob was costing them more than he was making for them.

I always Enjoyed Bob's articles. I disagreed with a lot of his opinions, but that was his job when he was with the Star.

Wish him well and hope he lands another job soon.

  4. Have not been since it was held at Rose in Terre Haute.

Lot of fun. As others said you can get close enough to realize how massive the O and D linemen are.

Also, always had good conversations with other fans, tailgated at games for years with some I met there.

I suppose everyone thinks this will make the Titans division champs...just like Julio Jones signing did.

    Not me,

but I can't say I was sad when he left Houston. I got tired of him catching everything thrown his way when we played them.

I won't wish injury on him, I just hope his skills have diminished some with age.

  6. Aside from the Peyton snub. I get why Jimmy is saying Jim Brown is the greatest.

Watch his highlights, a lot of them look like Brown is an adult playing back yard football against a bunch of kids.

He runs past, or through defenders like they don't exist.

Living in Scotland, we never got much NFL on the TV in the mid 80’s, apart from a one hour highlight show, aired a week after the games. The only live game was the SB, my first being the Bears in 1985/86. That was some team, and J became a kind of passive Chicago fan for a while. Mad McMahon, Dent, Singleterry, and of course, Walter Payton. He was majestic. Then I drifted away from the game until 2004, and my father called me. He had placed a bet on a team to win the Super Bowl, and they had a great QB. Guess who!!

By then, we were getting live games now in the UK, and I just started following the Colts, and my passion just grew and grew. The night we beat the Patriots in the AFCCG has been one of my best sporting memories ever. But the day that the coward Polian pulled the starters and quit on a perfect season almost made me chuck the Colts. It was disgraceful.

Seen the Colts live twice. In the LOS vs the Seahawks in 2013 and the disastrous loss to the Jags at Wembley a few years ago. I did meet and have a quick chat with Dallas Clark before the game though, what a lovely man. My long weekend in Indy in 2013 was magical, and the townsfolk were fantastic. Nice pubs too!!!

Been a member of this forum since about 2005, and loads of familiar faces still around since those days, which is great. And that includes a few Pats fans!!!!

Well, you did ask. Hope everyone is well.

Other than PGA events on foreign soil, and the Olympics, I don't follow sports not played in the USA. I think it's cool that you are a Colts fan, and am glad you are on this board.

We have very similar story. I too liked the colour scheme. The big draw fir me was I sucked at O so I picked a good one.

I am a guy who grew up in the magnetic, or Photo electric Football years.

I think it's cool  that a lot of fans now got interested in the NFL, by playing Madden, or other video games. My nephews are two examples, they never physically played the game, but they are knowledgeable, and rabid fans, after getting Madden when they were in their teens.

I became football-aware around 1978 when the family was living in a suburb of DC.  One day before school, my mom said there was a sale on NFL letterman jackets and asked me what team I wanted.  I told her to get me the Falcons, since I liked their helmets.  When I got home from school, she had bought me the Colts, because the store didn’t have Atlanta and she thought the Colts’ colors were “pretty”.

Years later, I had moved to Western Washington state and the Colts had moved to Indy.  It was impossible in the 1980s to see a Colt game on TV or buy any Colt merchandise locally in the Tacoma area.  But somehow my parents had obtained a Colt T-shirt for my birthday.  I vowed to wear it every Monday after a Colt win.  That was the year they started 0-13.  I started wearing the shirt on Mondays after they scored a TD…

In the late 80's, early 90's, I bought a lot of Colts T and sweat shirts off the discount rack after the season. I would see more people wearing Dallas, Pittsburgh, and Chicago stuff around here, and it's just over 100 miles south of Indy.
