You can say that about even the QBs that are considered Elite are a Rollercoaster ride. Look at Josh Allen for example week to week, you never know what you are going to get from him. There really hasn't been a QB this year that hasn't played badly in a few games. Even Mahomes has.

Yep every qb has had really bad games.

Josh Allen, Dak, Hurts, Mahommes, Purdy, etc

  2. It's going to be tough to run against the Falcons.

Their run defense is ranked 3rd in the league and their corners are good.

I predict alot of short passing to get the ball out of minshews hands quickly

It will be Heinke this week. Falcons went 0-2 with him earlier and benched him earlier. Not that concerned.

Yep heard this morning that it's heinke.

Falcons have a good running game and good defense. Their qb play has been awful.

Minshew will have to stay patient and not force the ball.

If Colts play ball control and don't turn it over they win

    Week 14:

    Young: 13/36, 137: 0 TD, 0 INT, Sack 4, RTG 48

    Stroud: 10/23 91, 0 TD, 0 INT, Sack 4, RTG 54.8

    AR:  NA

    Levis:  23/38, 327; 1TD, 1 INT, Sack 1, RTG 86.2

    O'Connell: 21/32 171, 0 TD, 1 INT, Sack 4, RTG 66

Wow ! those are great numbers for Levis.

    He is developing very nicely.

Meanwhile lets check in on AR's development

No I was just meaning that Levis and stroud starting next year might be slightly ahead of Richardson because they got to play this year and Richardson missed. Wasn’t comparing. Irs just  sad Richardson is missing this  valuable  playing time and has to basically start over next season/

    Slightly ahead ?

    I think way ahead.

Over the past 15 years or so, its been my impression that mobility has gained on height as a metric of importance.  And that leads to accepting shorter QBs, And, the short passing game has supplanted the running game in many ways.  Throwing a short pass or passes from out of the pocket doesn't necessarily require NFL type of arm talent.  And out of structure back yard ball requires less coordination...sticking to a plan.

I think all QBs in all level of football are starting to be the exact same guy.  Little diversity of talent or even body type.  The QB everybody raves about this year is Caleb Williams, and he's 6'1...which is short.  Anything below 6'3" I would consider short for an NFL QB.  If you are going to tell me that most NFL QBs are 6'3" or lower, I would say that it shows my point....the NFL is drifting towards short mobile QBs.

Every QB in every team, and their backups, with every team running similar offenses built around the short mobile guy, gets to be a monotonous brand of football, IMO.

Edit:  Keeping in mind that each generation of player gets bigger over the decades, skewing a straight comparison of heights now with back in the day.  JMO

I agree with alot of what you say in short mobile is replacing tall 6'5 not so mobile qbs.

I think alot of this is oline are harder to find and even harder to replace after injury.

Also the Patrick mahommes effect is happening as teams try to copy the Chiefs.

Mahommes is mobile and only 6'2

To finish, I have never once said that Minshew was a great or very good QB. That he would lead us to a SB win, I have just said he has played good football at times for us. It just gets old when people trash our players in here even after a win or said player helps the team win gets trashed. Saying someone is awful is trashing them. Then the same people want to put opposing players of teams we are getting ready to play on a pedestal.

    Very true.

I'm sure you read the gameday threads where Minshew is trashed constantly.

Then Colts fans are ecstatic about going to the playoffs as though Minshew has nothing to do with it.

We know he's a backup but nothing wrong with giving him at least SOME credit for our playoff run.

    Minshew on this board is

There’s an article that I read the other day….   Kirk Herbstreit says there’s a hot rumor that OSU boosters are trying to entice Harrison Jr to stay in school by giving him millions in NIL money.

But Herbie thought it was doubtful it would work.

Ok, but if Colts make the playoffs, they will have no shot a Harrison, correct ?

https://www.teamrankings.com/nfl/stat/points-per-game?date=2023-02-13 (we averaged 17 points per game in 2022)

It is really impressive how Steichen has boosted the points per game production. We basically added Matt Gay and Josh Downs to last year's roster, folks, those are the only major additions I see.

WE ARE A TOP 10 OFFENSE!!! Let that sink in. :)

Alot of that has to do with Minschew as well.

He doesn't get alot of respect from Colts fans.

Ian Rap reported this morning Taylor will miss 3 to 5 weeks. We will see.

Could be. I think it's his right hand.

He needs to stay out until he's a 100% otherwise defenses will rip at the ball trying to cause fumbles
