  1. Latu has been the invisible man out there.

    Hopefully not another bust pick.

He was a complete non factor in the GB game

It would have been nice to have Latu sack Willis or at least pressure him a few times

I think it was bc they knew they had to pass and they weren't doing any running. Brought the pass catching back in. Taylor hands aren't that great

If we're talking about the 3rd and 2, even Olsen said this is 2 down territory.

Everyone thought they were just going to hand it to Taylor who at that point was ripping off 8-9 yard runs.

Then for some reason they toss pitch to Sermon and the play is buried.

I can understand going with Sermon the rest of the way because Colts were in pass only mode.

But the 3rd and 2 toss pitch to Sermon makes no sense.

AR was sitting on a cooler with a towel covering his head (from the sun?) with a sulky look.  He should have been studying his tablet and being an aggressive leader.

At least be looking at the iPad and talking to the OC.

It looked like he wanted to jump on the bus and leave

AR has flashed,  but has a lot of work to do. It really bothered me to see him sulking/pouting on the sidelines yesterday, at one point with towel over his head while sitting on a cooler. Some of our previous QBs took that opportunity to review plays and mistakes to try to seek better opportunities or reads on defenses. Not a good look in my opinion. Got to stay hungry/agressive.

I mentioned this in the gameday thread yesterday.  His body language was not good and he didn't look like a leader.

But people acted like they didn't know what I was talking about.

His body language after these not in sync passes is not good.

Olson pointed out how we are body catching his passes, we saw bobbling of them also. One mighty think guys are not tracking his passes well. Less speed, combined with better anticipation and touch. Josh Allen had big problems year one.

Caleb Williams had his share of problems last night.

I would say that Steichen and Jim Bob had a very lackluster day/week.

Our defensive staff had another brainless day.

I watched 5 games yesterday. We had the worst LB play. I think it's coaching strategy. Our guys can't be this poorly prepared. We need better anticipation and aggression. Playmaking. There is enough history proving we are stuck in the mud with Gus and his ancient coaching staff. And Ballard's roster theories.

I have credited much of our recent years of mediocrity on Frank and his hold on Irsays history of loyalty. And there is truth there. But there is a vision and plan that Ballard to a degree has made an open book.

Defensively, it's a screwed up mess. He can't build one. So many wasted draft picks, so much at best mediocrity.

Replacing him shouldn't be a step backwards, but a step forward.

After the season is fine, but i'm thinking the Irsays will not want the malaise on defense to linger under Gus, just as they wanted Frank gone for that reason.

It is what it is, and after that long wait for a new season, hugely disappointing.

One thing is certain, there are a number of talented QB's to enjoy watching, and Every team and fan base has to deal with injuries and a lot of frustration in every game we watch. Pray for our Colts!

I thought that the Olsen comment about Colts receivers body catching balls was a strange comment.  I didn't notice it before.

That bad thing about body catching passes is if it hits your body then it can bounce out of your hands.  Perhaps this is causing the high drop rate ?

I wonder why receivers are body catching passes ?  Is AR throwing it too hard ?

Other than driving us down the field twice (the first we had. 3rd and 1 and Shane messed that up), running for a big first down and throwing a TD pass it seems like he was not doing anything but dragging (Sarcasm)

    Come on man.

He threw 4 ints today, one that was dropped out of our own endzone late in the game.

I agree with you on the 3rd and 1 that Shane messed up and the running play to make the 1st down late in the game was heroic

I understand that he's a project, but living in Gainesville and having to watch him play for the Gators, then go to the Colts? I've had a bit more experience watching Richardson than most.

He's just not good. He's an athlete sure, but he's the same player he was in college. Inaccurate, but a cannon arm.

Sure his intangibles are good. His body type is Cam Newton, and he's got the arm strength of Bradshaw, but his game sense is just subpar. It's the small things that add up.

The RPO mistakes today were killers. Not even talking interceptions. Just not recognizing the correct read cost the Colts a drive in the 4th quarter, and led to Sermon getting wrecked for a loss. (I believe that was the missed FG drive).

I'm a Georgia fan so I've spent alot of time following AR and watched many of his games at Florida.

His one season at Florida he was up and down all season long.

Case in point the Utah game where he lead Florida to a win and looked like he was ready to break out.

Then he plays South Florida and can't hit the broadside of a barn. Florida almost loses that game to a second tier opponent.

I followed him all season long and when he declared for the draft I projected him to be a 4th or 5th round pick. He was a project but the upside was there to a team that developed him as a backup for several years to take the job as a starter eventually. Just like Jordan Love.

I was shocked when Colts picked him 4th overall.

The potential is there but unfortunately this fanbase will never wait the the 2-3 years required for AR to fully develop.

I understand why he did it at the end. What was inexcusable is being in the red zone and only needing one or two yards and taking him out.

Yes you're right that was really bad. I hope someone asks him about it in his post game press conference

  10. For Colts to win the division it will be all hands on deck.

As others have said it can take up to 3 years for a receiver to start being good.  It is the second most complex position after QB.

Pierce is in his second year in Shane's system, so this type of growth is to be expected.
