  1. Shane signed off on this too... If he had any doubts then the Colts would not have drafted him. Obviously that was not the case.
  2. I have deeply studied Josh Allen... Since he was at Wyoming. Know his history very well... Josh Allen's issues with accuracy was multifold. For one, the offense he ran in college does not produce high completion rates. This is not about Anthony Richardson. I have no issues with the Colts choosing him. I love the possibilities. That does not erase that Steichen was not truthful.
  3. It is what it is, man. I call balls and strikes. Even when it is not the popular stance to take.
  4. He can somewhat improve his accuracy. But it’s a trait you’re either born with or not.
  5. When someone doesn’t agree with you or the group consensus, it does not make them a troll. If that’s what you think then no sense in responding to anything else you have to say.
  6. Smoke screens are one thing. Lying is a completely different issue. That’s a red flag character trait.
  7. This is paraphrasing but very close… Reporter: What are the most important traits in a quarterback? Steichen: He has to love football. Has to be obsessed. And he must be very accurate.
  8. The was absolutely no reason for him to lie about it. It’s helped him zero. I never expect any GM to tell us who they are taking. That’s absurd. However, being honest is a very important trait.
  9. Find me one time Belichick has ever lied to the press. Good luck. He often evades questions. He can be very condescending. A lot of the press do not like him as a person. But he doesn’t lie to them.
  10. I disagree on his deep ball being accurate. Especially the most accurate in the draft class.
  11. Completion percentage only somewhat tells the story. Some schemes promote a higher completion rate than others. His accuracy to put the football in the correct place, is the issue.
  12. Concealing and lying are 2 different things. I know all about lying season and it’s not in the context that you’re using it. Respected coaches and front office folks don’t lie on the record, during lying season. They have other ways to put out false information. That’s what lying season is. Integrity is important to me. I’m not impressed with Steichen, as a person. He might be a gifted football mind. But honesty is so important. Players will follow an honest coach. They won’t follow a dishonest coach. Drafting Richardson was a good risk. His upside is tremendous. However, don’t say that accuracy is the most import trait a quarterback can have, and then draft a quarterback with a lot of accuracy issues. The lie was either said to be misleading (if so then it was not necessary), or Steichen didn’t honestly answer the question. Either way, it’s a red flag, and it should concern everyone. It certainly concerns me. I love the Colts, but I call balls and strikes. Some people on this board don’t like that. That’s not my problem.
  13. A lot of folks on this board were with me on the Herbert express. I get the Buckner deal, which we later pulled off. It made sense. But wow! How different would the Colts have been over the past few years, had we moved up and taken Herbert? It took me forever to dig this thread back up. A lot of folks hit on Herbert too. I only remembered it being a few, but there were many with me on this. Some excellent back and forth’s in this old thread.
  14. Average talent? You mean top tier offensive linemen, and a top 3 running back? He put too much pressure on that offensive line. Only helped them with running backs picking up free rushers. Frank’s playbook got stale. He was trying to run the old Marchibroda K-Gun. And didn’t evolve it to fit the team personnel. Frank and Chris Ballard were definitely not on the same page with building the team. We saw the fallout of it this season. This offensive personnel is built for smashmouth football. It’s time for a total rebuild.
  15. To me, Ryan has looked more comfortable in the second half of this game than he has all year.
  16. I don’t see it that way. We are still using Frank’s playbook. Maybe with some minor tweaks and bigger sets. It’s near impossible to create a new playbook midseason. Frank got too cute… Put too much on the 5 offensive linemen. Didn’t give them any help. Saturday started to max protect, and then JT started going off.
  17. If we want to maximize JT’s talents then we need to build a playbook around 21 and 22 personnel with a real fullback. Pittman would be perfect for that offensive set. Believe it or not… So would Dulin. I have graded him as our best blocking receiver, this season. And I like the growth of Woods. He could become a legit tight end in this league.
  18. Aikman is right. It’s what I’ve been seeing on the tape too. The passing play designs are terrible. The Colts need an entire new offensive playbook.
