I’m really glad they had a tribute for Leonard. Seems like it helped to fire up the team today. Win it for #53!
Agreed. Also, classy move by #53 to show up.

If Minshew can stay away from the turnovers I think this roster has enough talent to make the playoffs. Hopefully he has gotten that out of his system.

I like what Steichen has done to create the type of offense Minshew can run

Maybe we need help there, but Blackmon has looked like a stud to me this season.
He has definitely come on and made some plays the last couple games. Hopefully he continues.

I think we have a number one receiver, and we stole him in (I think) the third round. Josh Downs appears to have all the makings of a top tier receiver in the NFL. Getting Ashton Dulin back next year will also help. Would like to see them add one more piece to that room, but I don't see it as the top priority. I think our young outside CB's, Brents, Flowers, Jones, are a pretty solid core if they can get healthy and stay healthy. Still need to add depth. On the o-line, I think this year has shown that we had more of a coaching/scheme problem than a talent problem. Having said that, there is no such thing as too much quality o-line depth. Guys get hurt.
I am more concerned with LB, DE, and safety. We lack a really good coverage LB who is also at least somewhat effective against the run. In the modern NFL that seems like a must have. I am becoming more concerned that Shaq may never return to his old form. I like Zaire and EJ Speed, but I think we need some help there.
I think we have a really solid d-line, but we saw first hand against the Cleveland Myles Garretts what a game wrecking DE can do. Kwity has become a really good 3 down DE, but will probably not be a consistent double digit sack guy. Odeyingbo has shown some ability to get to the QB, but he is not quite there yet. Ebukam is also solid, but not someone that strikes fear into opposing OCs. I realize finding one of these game wreckers probably requires a higher draft pick than the Colts will have, but it's fun to dream.
At safety, it seems like we are ok, but not great. I think a lot of us had high hopes for Cross, Blackmon, etc., but it seems like we still need help there.
The biggest thing we need is to get AR5 healthy and keep him that way. Kid showed some real promise and maturity.

As far as getting healthy during the bye - I seem to recall last season's bye week ended...and the Colts had more players down than when it began. Please correct me if my old memory is off.
Don't recall, but I sure hope it is better this year

Yep, we get to 5-5, it is like a new season. Starting from scratch at that point. We get a Bye, get healthy and go for it in the last 7 games.
This is why the win yesterday was crucial. This team can't afford to lose games to bottom dwellers like the Panthers if they want to have a shot at the playoffs. One of the reasons for my optimism all along was our strength of schedule. I think I saw a graphic during the game yesterday that said our SOS the rest of the way was second weakest in the NFL. IF we can get some guys back, we have a real shot at 9 or 10 wins. With a backup QB and CB room that went from a solid unit before the Gilly trade to a questionable one, to a MASH unit seemingly overnight, I would count that as a success.

Let’s best the Pats to go .500 and take the bye week to hopefully get Brents, Smith and Franklin back
Exactly. One week at a time. Hopefully the bye will help us get those few guys healthy and ready for a late push. A wildcard is not out of the question.

Clean day on the road with a lot of guys out, and left with a win. No extra points for style.

We have some good defensive talent, but our defensive strategy sucks. Maybe Bradley would be better at McDonalds.
More and more I think this may be the case.

Very well done today. Played a clean game to beat an inferior opponent on the road.

This may have been a game where the Colts knew all they had to do is play clean, so they took zero chances on offense. Barring a miracle, looks like it is going to work.

This has been one of the worst offensive games in awhile.
It has been the weakest of the season I think, but I didn’t see the beginning.
-
Of course. This is the ONLY offense to score 20 a game, but somehow we can’t move the ball. Ridiculous.

Yeah but their defense is good. If we can’t score on this panthers defense what’s going to happen against a good pats defense.
The same thing that happened against a good Browns a defense and all the other good defenses they have played.
