He'd be an improvement, but the problem is that he's going to be looking for a longer big contract and he isn't great.  Far from a sure thing to hook your wagon to.   He started 16 games only once and had 14 TD's and 9 INT's.

I get your point man. I’m of the opinion that the injury stunted his development and he never really got to hit his ceiling. I would just be curious as to how much closer he could get to it after working with Sean Payton and continuing with Frank. I thought early on the kid had a chance to be really good.

I just don't see Bridgewater as a franchise QB.

I like Teddy’s chances with this staff. He’s got upside, youth and some of the characteristics that CB is looking for. I would love to kick the tires but like I said Coffee.... I’ve been wrong before.

personally, I like Smith he is an excellent QB who has averaged a new OC every 1.3 years he's been in the league.  And if this was Alex Smith pre injury, I would say that would be great, not as a long term solution, but a guy who could provide a few years of good QB play until another QB came along.

But after that injury and his age, I agree with @TheMiz, I don't think Smith will play in the NFL again.

I like Alex too, but injury and age concern me. I’m not in the bridge QB camp... I think Teddy could be our franchise guy but I’ve been wrong before. If we draft one I’d rather just roll with JB and let CK, JB and the rook battle it out.

Hey, @NFLfan.  Odd that Tua would thank and honor someone as selfish and all about himself as Nick Saban, and Tua's brother is still playing there.  What are Tua and his brother's parents thinking?

If you get a chance there’s an interview with Saban and Belichick together on HBO as they are close friends and came up together. Saban was his DC in Cleveland. They are both interesting dudes and are much deeper than the post game interviews.

Yes but we could be in a position to develop one for a year or two which means maybe we could of taken one in a later round. If he retires we need someone to step in right away.

Williams from WA could be a stop gap but he will probably cost to high of a pick.

I hope they use a higher pick on the OL. I’m an old school trenches guy and would be drafting high every year on the LOS

  6. Man I hated losing Hentges as well but surprisingly not so much with Ebron and Travis. I hope they do pick up another all around tight end ( block/receiving) as these guys keep the defense guessing. When Ebron trotted onto the field everyone in the stadium knew what was going to happen.

I'm with you on getting Carr.  It probably will take a higher pick but I think he would be worth it. He would make us an instant contender again.  Need to do it before FA.  Getting Carr would probably guarantee us getting Cooper if he hits FA and a few other guys as well.  That would be one heck of a way to start the offseason and the lead up to the draft.

I wouldn’t take Cooper. He’ll want a big payday and not worth the effort or money with a generational WR draft class. Look at Cooper’s receiving yards per game the last 2 years and tell me he’s worth it.
