Yeah, let's not talk about anything for the entire offseason.

I agree. I'm just saying calling the roster 'championship-caliber' is a major projection. I'm not saying it can't be true.

Oh please Superman  don't get so defensive The post is about top 5 QB's not the rest of the team's depth or lack of position wise. I think you are a wonderful moderator, and I truly respect your incite. I just think this the wrong post to go in-depth over the rest of the team.

You typically don't get three immediate starters in a draft class. You're lucky if you total three starters in a draft class, let alone in Year 1.

Rock isn't locked in as a starter, he'll have to battle it out with Quincy, most likely. Banogu likely does NOT start, and I don't see who he'd be an upgrade from. He'll be in a position battle no matter where they fit him. Okereke will have to earn a spot, and so will Willis. Campbell has a likely spot at receiver, but as a piece of a rotation.

Penciling in any rookie as a starter -- let alone an upgrade -- is premature, at best.

I still think we are a organization on the rise. There will always be constant reshuffling of starters and  depth at position. That's all part of the game. There is never a perfect scenario. At best that we can hope for is limited injury. and hopefully guys that step it up that is unexpected. It is never an exact science. Only players that buy into what you want to accomplish an sometimes over achieve in your philosophy.

  3. For goodness sakes guys, Luck, last year was coming back from a potential career ending injury, Shure it took a while for him and the whole revamped offensive line, coaching staff and injuries to gel later on. I think he showed you a few years ago in that comeback against the Chiefs, what he is capable of as a franchise QB I will never forget that fumble he scooped up and dove into the in zone  to score  after that amazing comeback against the Chiefs. I still think he has the same drive , and maybe more.

Ya completely lost me here though....   while I do use a time released pain control patch.... and have been prescribed other pain management medicine....  I have no idea if my opiates are above average. lol  :default_20smile:

As for my perspicacity, I have no more, nor any better, insight than anyone else on these boards.  My opinion and $1.08 will get me a snickers at Speedway....  I'm not sure I follow you here, but hope we're able to get along just fine....  Comrade?

Anyway.....  It should be interesting to see what happens on the McCoy front this week, I expect he may wait until after OTA's to decide? more time for team officials to focus on him, and less on the teams?  We'll find out soon who he chooses I would think....  Go Colts!  as a team and fanbase, WE are in for a highly anticipated year! :jump:

It's all good Shafty138! You should have called me out.  I let my emotions get the best of my analytical side. lol

I do it as well, I think all fans do, and it's not wrong... just not in the sanctimonious manner, or aggressive tone, that the OP did.

The part where they "strongly suggested the team not do" whatever

I didn't make that part too clear I see now.... my bad ;)

Well I view it more on the ambiguous side more that the sanctimonious matter in my perspective, .don't read into the aggressive tone  unless you perspicacity  is in your opium above average, more than  everyone else in this forum. If so, I Shure everyone salutes you comrade  for you incite.

No reason to think he can't be a contributing piece of the Colt culture. He's a stand up guy according to every report I've read. However, we're not the only contender who is interested in him. If he can win and get paid too, that's the name of the game; there are only a few years left in his career. I DO believe he fits this team perfectly. If the price is right, its a great match.

    I agree totaly

  7. Hey guys , I 'm sorry I ruffled a few feathers in here, It was not my intention. I'm just frustrated that we had a chance at Suh, which in retrospect was probably not a good thing. I think McCoy would be a greater mentor as an accent to our young guys on the team. He fits the culture that we could use, so much that I am praying that we will sign him. but I am just scared that we will not sign him. And much to our fan base would love to in brace him, emotionally, Alas it depends on numbers and worth for our administrative department, who makes the call.

Shafty138 I hope we can get along. I think I earned the right to say "We"  after over 60 years of being a Colts fan. and to reply to your concern over previous post ? I am aware I can add to the previous  post  lol.

First, I honestly don't know if you are aware, but at the bottom of your post, the edit button lets you go back and add to a previous post.

    Now...

What's this we, and us, our?   You come across as a 10 year veteran special teams guy in these posts....

I get it, we all love the Colts.  This team though, is just one of 32.  They aren't some mystical, once in a lifetime, outrageously different team from the other 31....  Seems the MB part of the Colts fan base can get a little self absorbed and self-righteous at times...  It's great to be a fan, especially of this team, at this time...  but, keep it in perspective.

Also, what are you talking about in regards to Gerald McCoy?  All reports are  he has always been a man of outstanding character, and does a ton of work in the community, of his own accord....  He's not allowed to try and get himself the best "job" he can, and be an Indianapolis Colt's employee at the same time?  because "we" are some special, exceptional team, different from the other 31?  C'mon man!!!!   lol.

Ballard just seems to have his own system of when it comes down to money, he will not get in a bidding war for him. Does he fits most of Ballard's criteria, Absolutely, But he, if they are interested, will already have his maximin contract in mind that he is willing to go. That's all. Hey I like the guy and would love to have him. But I think that there are other teams willing to pay more.  So now do you understand ? It's not about the short term fit, It's about the money that if history is an indication Ballard wont waver.

  9. There should be no confusion, Ether he wants to be part of our journey an  have a chance to win championships or not. I  feel at his point for him he can still make money with the right incentive. But do you want to be part of something  special or do you care at this point and if  it's just about making money., regardless of what our team does, then we are not the team you want to play on.

  10. Being that Gerrard McCoy will not be a player in the Colts defense due to what money he wants, I strongly suggest we move on from him. If he was A team player and was about winning Championships, then he might have been an option  for us.  We don't need players who are not on board with us period.  I think he is a excellent player, but his mind has to be right   to want to join us now. otherwise  A strong  PASS!
