The Luck excuse is officially over.

Ballard knows Luck is not part of this team.

He has a top 15 pick.

He has cap space (in part due to Luck leaving).

Relevant to the topic, the 49ers knew they needed a QB so they got one via trade. If Ballard CHOOSES to ignore a QB in the draft, trade and/or free agency the results are on him and have nothing to do with Luck.

The luck excuse ended at the end of this year, that is true, but when evaluating this team, in it's current spot, and this past season, the Andrew excuse is as valid as any other reason. If ballard does nothing to address this, then people can start grumbling. Until then, it is a bit premature Imo.

Arians offense is still turnover prone, but don't think this guy is a good fit.  If its Brissett or Winston.  No brainer Winston.

Pass on Winston and also pass on Rivers. Rivers needs to retire. My favorite thing in the whole world: You're driving down field just to throw a pick 6 to seal the game (sarcasm).  I would rather have JB than Winston at least he can protect the ball.

The Colts shouldn't go from one end of the spectrum to the other. That rarely if ever, works out.

I would be open to signing Winston on a team friendly deal and give him the chance to earn the starting spot on the off chance that Reichs scheme is friendly enough to limit Winston's turnover tendencies. The problem is, I dont see a lot of thought going into his passes. Did you watch the Colts game vs the Bucs? Oof... I couldn't take it.

Stars are not what insures who goes to the pro bowl.

That has been a long known fact.

Players are voted by players, coaches and the fans.

Saying one is a joke is a joke in itself.

That may be true but everyone will debate it anyway. It's nice to see Doyal has that kind of respect nationally.

I think people also realize it was JB throwing the ball to him. Not Luck, and unfortunately it’s a popularity vote. Much like the NBA All-Star game.

Yeah it's sad when no one takes the pro bowl or allstar game seriously. I remember it used to be a legitimate honor back in the day or maybe that was wishful thinking.

A joke that Doyle was next to make the Pro Bowl but Kelce had more votes? Or a joke that he made it in because Kelce is in the Super Bowl?

A joke because Doyel had lesser stats than several TEs this year.

Go to work and play slap *** with Coworkers. Let us know how it turned out, if you even have a job!

I hope you have a good day man. Differences in opinion shouldn't cause us to fight no matter how vast that opinion differs. I apologize if you feel I have disrespected you and your profession.

I disagree. Yes there was a locker room full of men celebrating, and if they want to to play slap $&@, so be it. The officer(hired for security I assume) was there doing his job, by request it sounds like. He is an authority figure, and deserves to be treated with a certain level of respect, IMO. Without getting into a political discussion, I think respect for authority is really lacking nowadays and this is just another example of it. I also agree that his situational awareness was spot on, he handled it later instead of making a scene and possible making the situation worse. Do I think it warrants charges? Not really, he could have maybe pulled him aside or arranged a meeting to explain to him how wrong what he did was. This is all JMO of course.

I suppose you cannot be situationally aware in every way. I dont think it deserves charges either, and I personally wouldnt have done anything about it, but we are all different.

You mean a woman having her * slapped upset her? That's a big surprise.

Theres a difference between a LOCKERROOM full of men where slapping someone's * is common practice, and a reporter outside where there is no such reputation..

I think it's safe to say this guard was butt hurt.

That’s fine and dandy but that was clearly not assault.

It was assault by definition. But you would hope that a police officer or security guard would have situational awareness. It would seem that is of short supply when it comes to authority figures.

I wish Andrew would have gotten this support when he made his decision. Thank you Luke for playing the game the right way

Makes you wonder how things would have gone had he retired a week before the season too. It would have been nice to see Andrew go out with cheers and support but retiring a week before the season and you're expecting some back lash.

I for one, felt like I was run around the ringer. Told one thing when something else was going on. Idk about you but I lose respect for people who do that, rich, poor, famous, unknown, dont lie to me and I'll respect you.

Completely different circumstances. Completely different scenario, and you see all the support that subtle change makes.

  11. They probably wouldnt have beaten the Chargers. Colt nation had a sigh of relief when the Patriots beat the Chargers.

But, you could also argue, had the Colts beat the Steelers in 2005 they would have been in the SB. Or if they had beat the patriots in 2003 and 2004. I mean the what ifs are endless.

For example: if the patriots weren't relevant like they were throughout the 2000s an argument could be made that the Colts could very much be the Dynasty of the 2000s.

If the Colts draft Ryan Leaf, then the Colts wouldnt have been even close to as relevant as they were.

I think the Vinny think had more to do with it that people admit. He obviously was killing us. We can attribute at least three losses directly to his ineptness. That of course makes us 10-6 team. Other players see that. They take notice that if your name is Vinatieri you're getting a pass for lousy performance. You say the right things in interviews, but that's just for public consumption.  I've played team sports and if the coaches son gets special treatment it effects the locker room. People knew we were losing games because of him, but nothing was done. Reich even said everybody gets treated equally some just more equally. Animal Farm anyone? I think the affect was subtle, but football's a brutal game. People get hurt and play through it. But are you going to give 110% when you know one guy who should be gone may negate all your effort? Ebron was pretty obvious about how he felt, but I bet others harbored similar thoughts.

In addition to that as I said in a different post, teams take on the personalities of their coaches. Vrabel was a hard nosed, blue collar, gritty player at LB and I think the Titans are showing some of that. Henry of course runs over people, but also the D last night was lighting guys up. We have a quiet preacher for a coach who I imagine never raises his voice in the locker room. We need some toughness. We'v got good players, but I've seen very little of that almost a penalty type aggressiveness from our D, or the talking smack cockiness from the offense that I saw from TN last night.  They believe they can beat anyone, are putting it all on the line and making teams prove them wrong. That comes from you coach.

So far in their last five games no one has proven them wrong. That is what wins championships.

I was saying to cut vinny but after hearing the various reasons why they didnt it makes sense. You dont cut someone without a viable replacement and the league has had a shortage of good kickers the past few years. The logic or cutting him for nothing is not very well thought out. You're assuming that this other kicker makes the ones he missed. When a good kicker became available the Colts signed him within a week. Therefore your theory of favoritism doesn't hold.
