  1. I love it.  This was Irsay letting Peyton know that, while he’s sucking up to the Broncos, Elway will ALWAYS be their greatest QB.  Not him.  But since Peyton is so attached to the Broncos, Jim put the greatest Broncos QB in his top 5 over the greatest Colts QB to show him that he can suck up to the Broncos too.  Lol. I love it.

And note the Elway never had great weapons until the end of his career and won 2 rings with those weapons. While Peyton had great weapons his entire career…  Tell him Jim.  If you’re gonna be down with us, be all the way down with us or get from around us…  Peyton made his choice.

He has chosen the Denver Broncos. Cool. Deuces.  I’ll always have love for the #18 that rocked The Shoe.  That guy is mostly gone now though and only makes rare appearances these days.  When he shows up, I’ll give him love.  When he’s repoing the Broncos, I could care less.

Pro Football Reference has a "Weighted Average Value" score, that tries to assign a single number to the player's value.

Existing Ring of Honor and their wAV scores

    Peyton Manning - 176

    Marshall Faulk - 132

    Marvin Harrison - 123

    Jeff Saturday - 118

    Reggie Wayne - 116

    Edgerrin James - 113

    Eric Dickerson - 92

    Tarik Glenn - 87

    Dwight Freeney - 81

    Chris Hinton - 79

    Jim Harbaugh - 79

    Robert Mathis - 67

    Bill Brooks - 57

Colts Drafted Players with the highest wAV's

    Andre Rison - 77

    Chris Chandler - 77

    Ray Donaldson - 77

    Mike Peterson - 73

    Andrew Luck - 72

    TY Hilton - 72

    Ryan Diem - 72

My money for the next Ring of Honor recipient is --- Ray Donaldson

Wth kind of list is this?  Faulk above Marv, Reggie, & Edge???  He didn’t do as much for the Shoe as those guys.  And Jeff that high over Freeney & Mathis?  Makes no sense to me.

  3. Mel has always been a Baltimore Colts fan. Thus he hates the Indy Colts.  We supposedly drafted every position he said we needed going into the draft. Every player drafted at spots later than where he had them ranked on his big board (thus they should all be considered great value picks or even steals) and he still gives us a B…  Guy is a straight up clown.

When it comes to the franchise quarterback, Irsay is the one who has to really want Fields. My feeling is that Fields' style doesn't map onto the Colts' vision for the future. Maybe I'm wrong, We'll see.

Irsay mentioned the QB from Alabama (Bryce Young) and then he mentioned how a dual threat QB in Hurts was like playing 12 on 11 with the way he beat us at the end. Fields fits that mold perfectly.

  5. Bears need more picks since they traded a 2nd for Claypool.  I wouldn’t trade pick 4 but I’d definitely trade a 2nd, a couple 3rd’s, and a player or two (Moore &/or Kelly) that Flus likes for Fields.  Then we can use pick 4 on another foundational piece in the trenches.  Like one of the tackles from OSU.  Then we could kick Raimann over to right or slide him or Smith into RG.  Knowing Ballard we could even trade back and recoup some of the picks from the trade.

Food for thought: Fields just broke or was close to breaking the single game and full season rushing records for a QB in a terrible scheme with poor weapons in only his 2nd year in the league.  Also, through the first half of the season the Bears were averaging over 30 points per game. Steichen would work magic with Fields.  With him and JT we’d immediately have one of the top rushing teams in the league. Leaving 1 on 1’s for Pittman & Pierce on the outsides.

So if we can’t get Bryce Young, I’m definitely taking Fields over Stroud, Levis, or Richardson.  The Goat from Michigan has retired.  The OSU NFL QB curse has lifted.  The next Goat will be a dual threat QB and Fields has the pedigree and potential to be the best dual threat QB of all time.  And it’s only fitting that he comes from OSU.  Either Young or Fields on the Colts will put an end to the Reid/Mahomes/Chiefs dynasty and begin our own.

In a situation like this, he should suspend his shock-jocking.

All he had to do was leave off the pot stirring “but how”.  The answer Skip is “who cares” anyway.   The game isn’t more important than that man’s life.  They’ll figure something out.  No need for him to even pose the question given his platform and influence. Just focus on Damar & how the game felt irrelevant after his near tragic injury.

This is another reason for not being a fan of Skip Bayless

I'm hoping it just came out wrong.

He’s a shock jock. He knew what he was doing. Stirring the debate pot.  Then tried to cover his ask with the last line.  Dude is a straight clown.

Be that as it may, Ryan has been every bit of that and worse.

No doubt.  Ryan had me fooled coming into the season.  His turnovers and unwillingness to push the ball down the field was devastating for us.  But once again, Frank and his helter skelter play calling didn’t do him any favors either.  Frank doesn’t know how to feature anyone but Pittman and his H back move tight end.  Everybody else can only have 1 breakout game a month or 2.

I don’t think people realize how bad Ryan has been for this team this year. 13 less TDS and 6 more picks.

This isn’t me defending Wentz. But we’ve clearly downgraded. Wentz could at least move and keep the play alive. It didn’t end well a lot but it kept us in the game (until it didn’t).

Wentz rode the coattails of JT having an mvp season.  Ryan has sucked but he didn’t have a healthy JT dragging him to team success.  That Wentz 27-7 is misleading. I was telling everyone most weeks he was killing us on 3rd & 4th downs.  Failing to extend drives.  Those games added up.  We were easily worthy of being a 12-13 win team last year.  Carson managed to turn that into 9-8.  He’ll always find a way to underperform when he’s needed the most.

Wherever Wentz is now, he was not as bad as Ryan was for this team. Forcing Ballard into that spot is meddling. 27 TDS to 7 picks would have this team in a much different spot.

We forget how poor Carson played for stretches last year.  Even his surrogate father Frank lost trust in his decision making. We had a game with like 10 pass attempts last year.  A game (maybe same one) where Carson had 50 yards passing.  He would’ve found a way to suck as much as needed to make sure the Jags still won the division.  He’s cursed and everywhere he goes gets cursed. Irsay felt it and knew it.  You cut that kind of cancer out of a team immediately. Don’t let it grow and spread.
