Obviously i hope the pats lose but i like the play calling from McDaniels. Even if they lose i am still impressed.

NW IPA's are quite good. Full Sail Hop Pursuit and Deschutes Inversion are killer IPA's.
I usually go fresh squeezed from deschutes. Time to change it up i suppose...

I’m with ya. I drink IPAs almost exclusively, & the NE Hazy IPAs are bomb.
I moved to CO from Indianapolis and the craft beer out here is good stuff. I too am an IPA enthusiast. The N.E. style just has such a juicy hop finish. Sorry for going very off topic but beer and football have always been intertwined.

Surely Boston has better beer to offer than Sam Adams, that stuff is junk.
It definitely does. He should sample the New England style (hazy) IPA's. Agreed on Sam Adams though. And yes I may be a bit of a beer snob but just don't put me in the pit of misery....
Please no one say Dilly dilly...

Better then bell??? the stuff I read on here kills me
I am a big Barkley fan but that is such a silly statement. How many times have we seen great college players not come close to the same production. Especially at that position.

If New England does let a couple of these free agents go the Colts will not be the only ones interested. This comment about bringing these guys in is flawed. There will be 30 other teams looking too. It's not a simple as just bringing them in.
It may not be a lock but one thing the other 30 teams dont have is the pats old OC....presumably. Plus we are in at least the top half in available cap space that most of which must be spent.

pagano also received an extension. His original contract was a 4 year if i recall right
Which is why IMO the colts jobs was favorable over the Titans. They proved to be a bit short sighted....

My guess,
3 years, full guaranteed, 8-10 mil average including possible incentives
2 year team options, partially guaranteed, 10 mil average including possible incentives
5 year, 50 million total with incentives
If Ballard can make that happen he is truly a great GM.
But my guess would be Josh wants some security after his quick stint in Demver.

What does it matter?
It doesn't lol. But why not speculate? That is what this is for...

Obviously we will have to just wait and see, but if we do sign him as rumored, what do YOU think the contract will look like? Any outs after a few years? How much guaranteed?
I'd imagine a 6 year deal $60+ million. I would be absolutely floored if it was even in the same breath as a Gruden deal. Although even excluding Grudens deal several other guys have snagged mega deals recently as well.

The team perceived to be superior always gets the calls.... That goes for pretty much any team sport.

meh i dont know, the talent level in the NBA as a whole is just no where near the 80s and 90s.
I think you mean skill level...

Dennis Rodman said it best , in the 90s Lebron would have been an average player nothing more.
In the case of Bortles he just sucks.
I would refrain from using any words Rodman has said to advocate my own position. He has always been known to be a bit crazy...
And James is no Jordan but please.... An average player? Laughable. If anything many who do not like him, do so for personal reasons it seems. The man is extremely gifted and coaches would've fought to get him in their jerseys. In any decade.

Honestly, I think it'll come down to one of the 3. McDaniels, Patricia and Wilks. One of these 3 is the most likely to be our next head coach.
Those are my preferred three candidates. I think our guys play tough but lack pure X's and O's instruction. Hopefully we hire one of the three and not some unknown from left field. We have not requested an interview for Patricia I had thought. Did I miss an update at some point?

Disappointing....
Was hoping he'd be retained. But if you have an offer and no assurance of being retained then there isn't much of a decision to make.
Hoping that Lal gets consideration as the WR coach... hoping Schott gets consideration for QB coach.
And there are some some defensive coaches that I hope get consideration. I don't like throwing out the baby with the bath water......
I repsectfully disagree, I think we can get better than Shotty and Lal. And yes Tom had good numbers for our special teams, but he also ran that horrendous fake punt I believe. If anything our special teams improved with the personnel we had, not necessarily some secret design IMO. Finding players to fit the 3-4 helped our coverage teams. I am fine with every coach being a new face, special teams reflect your overall depth, and I feel like our squad had a bunch of 2nd string talent. Which was only deserving of out matching oppositions 2nd stringers on occasion. Now we just need more quality 1st stringers...

Was this what you were referencing?

Bruce Arians.....MNF would be golden if they gave that guy a mic and a cooler full of beer.
It would be very entertaining, but I am positive he would swear up a storm with that much sauce in him. Did you see the Amazon series that followed the Cardinals a whole year? He likely would put himself in hot water quickly free lancing on the air.

I think you can replace Barkley with Guice, Penny, or Chubb, and all that you project for the offense would still be in play.
I do agree, if we pass, then i am still confident with this offense in a WC system..... with improved playcalling of course. Honestly i think McDaniels has a real shot, with Brissett likely talking up JM's offense. Obviously Luck would prolong his career by having more quick timing throws mixed in with his ability to create downfield. I am fi e with whoever we take as long as they can step in early and play. IMO production for a 1st year player is key for a top 10 pick. We can always find guys to develop at positions later in the draft. I really hope Ballard knows how to pick his teachers.... We had a guy who player played hard for, now we just need a guy to match that and add some better X's and O's.

I disagree with that very much.
Even still, it's not 'take Chubb over Barkley!' At least not for me...
I am not saying he is just a pure athlete rusher. He has tremendous strength in his hands. Has an outstanding swim move. He just rarely strings move together. I'll admit i only recently started watching his film but i still stand by my stance about him affecting games less than Barkley would. Plus if we get a good OC finally imagine Luck not being handcuffed by the Coryell. Pound with the 230lbs Barkley, Mack as a fresh legged speedster coming off the bench. Turbin (or Gore) on short yards. Lets not forget they all can beat you receiving as well.
Plus our defense would not look as bad by the 4th if we could manage more long scoring drives. Most of the coaches named excite me because there is a strong possibility for a west coast system. Which i know many have been dying for since Luck arrived.

I always see this arguement made against running backs. You can still find a good one later in the draft. Fact of the matter is, you can find a great player late at any position. You always take BPA. Chubb isnt enough of a technician as a pass rusher. He wont be the potential game wrecker Barkley would. Our current career sack leader was drafted late, so lets stop this talk you cant find o line or defensive talent late. It is nonsensical. Brady and Rice likely are considered the best ever, where were they drafted...?
-
Clearly they have a great relationship, as one would expect.

The Ravens DC is retiring. Have to think Pagano would have interest in that job.
I have seen raven fans who would not oppose that idea. I am on the side that wants Pags gone, but i can admit some guys make better Coordinators than HC's... I wish him well, but i thought he said previously after this job he is done....

I read this yesterday. In the article, it actually brings up the Colts as the top destination from nfl execs going into this past offseason. The answer for this offseason was stated as unclear. Which I assume meaning many different opinions.
The Offseason Reading Series #12: My case for Peyton Manning as the greatest quarterback of all time
in Colts Football
Posted
Peyton Manning took 4 HC's to SuperBowls. Only Qb to win Sbs in 2 different cities. Too many individual records to list. Then consider the pace of records set (games played).
Even Montana made the Chiefs respectable. I am skeptical Brady could enjoy similar success without the hooded one. Montana did well enough without Walsh, would Brady have enjoyed the type of success Manning had throughout his many coaching changes? We will never know because Brady is smart enough to know he is already on the Rushmore of Qbs and would likely retire before being traded. I just want Manning haters to agree Peyton is on that cliff face as well. Although I am 99% sure everyone in this forum would agree PM has already secured his place amongst the best of all time... Peyton being ranked just under Brady by most is okay with me. I know the truth .
