I don't know, I get the sense Ballard is much higher on Willis than are some of the fans.

I think that is a fairly safe bet.  I've been watching more film on Willis since the draft and there certainly isn't much flash to his game. To me he seems a step slow but he still does his job. He's a sure tackler and seems to diagnose plays very well.  I think he can be a solid pro.

Remember, Ballard said he considered taking Willis in the 3rd, presumably instead of Okereke.

You may be right but I thought Ballard said he thought about taking Okereke over Banogu in the 2nd round?

It's like saying RGIII was so much better than Luck (as nearly EVERYONE in the media loved to claim his rookie year).  He won rookie of the year and made the playoffs.  Big deal, he was a massive bust.

That's called hindsight. RGIII looked pretty dang good as a rookie. I highly doubt you were calling him a bust after his rookie year.

Empty stats sort of like what Jacksonville's QB put up due to being blown out often and getting easy numbers in garbage time.

Winston is about tens times better of a passer than Bortles. The biggest reason why Bortles lasted as long as he did as a starter was because of his legs. And I think you need to go back and look at some game logs before you say Winston's stats are all "garbage time stats".

In my opinion, he's a bust.  Let's see if Arians can breath him back to life and clean up his off field nonsense at the same time.  Otherwise we'll see who wants a bust backup QB next year.

Winston isn't dead yet but I can agree he's likely on his last life as a Buc atleast. His off the field nonsense has certainly plagued him since college but there's a reason he's got multiple chances to continue his career. Because he CAN still be an ELITE QB. Besides the off field stuff my biggest knock on him is the stupid INTs he throws just like another QB near and dear to our hearts does in Andrew Luck.

Only a number one pick can compete for biggest bust in history.  I think Oaklands #1 QB may always hold that distinction, but there have been other flameouts of #1 picks.  Winston in the end hasn't been much better though he lasted longer.

Winston hasn't fared much better than Jamarcus Russell?

I think Clayton Geathers is a better athlete than Khari Willis and most likely a better ball player. Athlete wise i believe Willis is on par with John Lynch. Lynch was known to have a high football IQ along with the great tackling

Likely future HOFer John Lynch or Clayton Geathers? Which one would you want on your team? Not that I'm not a Geathers fan but better athletes don't always make better football players ie T.J.Green...

Suh's average is still better than anything we have at that position..Odds are he would prosper in the culture we have here and we would get his best in my opinion..

I'm not against bringing in Suh. I've always liked the player. When motivated, he can still treat an O-Linemen like a ragdoll. He's already made a ton of money, and it seems like he's at that stage in his career where he just wants a ring. Maybe we could get the best out of him.

they made a surprising move and tendered him a few weeks ago.  i dont think hes done in the league, talent is still there too look at the play he made against us last year.  he actually made several big plays

Talent has never been the issue with Gordon.

Whoa now. DT is a shell of himself at this point. Harry couldn't seperate in college and hasn't played an NFL snap. Not that Inman is an elite WR but I could certainly argue that he'll be their 2nd best WR this year.

And you can't possibly list Phillip Dorsett ahead of him on your quick snap depth chart. Dorsett gets cut light years before Inman.

Right now that seems like the best option. If a cap casualty or a cut down day DT/NT that fits I'm sure Ballard will pull the trigger.

I think you're spot on here. The Colts aren't done adding to the DLine.

  9. The more tape I watch on Okereke and Speed(tough finding anything but highlights on Speed) the more I like. We'll see if they're the real deal once camp and preseason games start, but it looks like we got a couple of really really nice LBs here. I can remember a time when I've ever been this excited about a Colts defense!

The Colts will probably let some good players walk. Ballard (or Reich, I don’t remember which), said it will be to let some solid players go,  when the last cutdown comes.

He also said “that’s what you want”.

Yea that was kind of my point. It's certainly a good situation to be in but it stinks at the same time. I feel like guys from our practice squad will be getting plucked this year.

  11. It's tough being an IU football fan but I think they're heading in the right direction. Tom Allen is building a competitive program right now and I think in 2020 it will finally pay off. I'm optimistic about 2019 but the schedule isn't very favorable. IU needs to beat one of the bigger names in the B1G East this year to get the rest of the fan base fired up!
